Service was pretty quick and the food was pretty good. Generally a pretty good ramen place/ seems to be some of the most popular items. In terms of other items would say the portion sizes are a bit smaller than the large noodle portions etc you can get at other places. The dumplings seemed very good. I enjoyed the pork lo mein which was a good large portion but probably would not anticipate leftovers . My friend got veggie lo mein which just seemed to include extra carrots vs other vegetables. I was a little disappointed in my experience at Funju! I was feeling under the weather so I decided to order one of their Phos with some pork bao buns. I got takeout and everything was separated and packaged really nicely, however, the meat was heavily cooked already and there weren't a lot of noodles. Once I built my bowl, I was sad that the meat was tough and that there were only like 3-4 pieces. The logo also had zero flavor which surprised me for how good it looked! When I craving for ramen... Funju Noodle Bar is where I like to go. After I long day of work I like to stop by around 2 for the lunch special. You get a choice of a starter and entree for $17. They give great portions for lunch. I always have to get the Sichuan Dumplings as a starter. It is packed with flavor and not too spicy. For noodles I always switch it around but I really enjoyed the Shoyu Ramen. If you're going for pho, it's okay I think you're able to get better pho somewhere else. A few honorable mentions are their soup dumplings and wings. My friend and I love getting it here. The service is always good when I go. The waiters are pretty quick and friendly. Parking is always available and the restaurant is decorated well. They have seating for small and large parties. We normally love this place. As of late the waitstaff has gotten horrible. We went there today and got appetizers with some relatives. The total bill came to just a hair under $60. My cousin and I decided to split the bill. After waiting about 10 minutes for our cards to come back we noticed that we were each just under $37 instead of the $29.90 we expected. We waited for our waitress to come back to talk to her. She seemed unsurprised that the other server did this and said she would void the transaction. My argument was that not only would the wrong amount still have a hold on my bank account now I'd have an additional hold for the "correct" amount. When the new bill came back it was still more than the 29.90 and they "explained " wrong totals were made and that's why there was a mix up. Speaking with the manager was no help. He didn't seem to think it was a big deal that the screw up was almost $20 more than what the bill originally said and still made excuses. I explained the hold and he said that's because it's Sunday. Not true. We ate there a week prior and even after the adjusted amount with tip came out of my account the original amount was on hold for almost a week after. I explained the bank doesn't care about the actual amount only the available. Looking at the receipt provided for the "correct amount" he didnt refund the incorrect payment but the corrected one and I'm still out the $37 when it shouldn't have been that much. IF we go back I'll be taking cash out. I can't trust that they'll get the charge correct. I really feel like the person who charged my card did that on purpose to add more money to their tips. Funju Noodle Bar is our go-to noodle bar that's close to home. We have been coming for years, whether we are dining in or taking out for ramen, pho and rice dishes. This was also the first place I tried ramen that wasn't made in a microwave. I love that they have vegetarian options and my usual is the Veggie Miso Ramen. Tasty and salty miso broth, with firm tofu, bok choy, avocado and cauliflower. My most recent trip I tried the Spicy Seafood Ramen, that was in a spicy, miso clam broth. It had a generous amount of shrimp, mussels and clams. The noodles have the perfect bite. My husband prefers pho over the ramen and gets the Tai Pho. It always satisfies his pho craving. We have tried a few of the apps like the Veggie Dumplings, Shiitake Buns, Chicken Katsu Buns and the Scallion Pancake Wrap with Chicken. Typically we don't order an appetizers because our main meal fills us up. The ramen and pho bowls are large portions. We avoid having leftovers (noodles soak up broth if sitting for too long in a to-go container). We always leave stuffed. The last time we dined in, it was a Thursday evening, they had happy hour deals on appetizers, beer and mix drinks. Oh, yes, Funju has a bar too! They serve the usual beer and cocktails, but they have spiked boba tea drinks. We opted into some Chicken Katsu Buns, $2 cheaper from the usual price. The restaurant is a decent size, divided into the bar area and dinning. They have table and booth seating that you have a full view of the entire restaurant because it's an open concept. Funju is rarely busy since they are set up for take out too. The staff is always friendly and there have been times where we're the only patrons dining in. read more

I tried this restaurant for the first time tonight. I met my daughter here after work to have a little celebration for a birthday dinner. We met for 5:45 and sat down right away. There was no waiting. I did notice that the music was a little loud, but I like that. We started with a drink and missed happy hour literally by moments I was a little perturbed about that but now I know for next time get there before 6 o'clock. Super generous with the veggies and adding extra veggies wasn't too much extra cost either. They also had chili and other sauces on the table to add to your food as you please which was great cause I'm a spicy ramen fan. The drinks were good too. I had the Lychee le paid and it was great. Drove 25 minutes out of the way to try this place. As we came in, we were "greeted" by a male server who was being told by some snappy female worker standing behind the bar to not let us dine in. There were plenty of tables with costumers eating. I asked until what time dinning in was allowed, and they said 8:30PM. It was 8:32PM when I looked at my clock afterwards. When I asked if an exception could be made for two minutes, the rude female server raised her voice to tell us that her boss wouldn't allow it. It was our first time at Funju and it will not be our last. We were seated promptly, order was taken quickly and food was delivered shortly thereafter. I ordered the Saigon Egg Rolls. 2 very petite, crisp egg rolls. The Nuic Mam sauce served on the side was unremarkable though. For my entree I ordered the combination rice bowl. It was loaded with veggies, shrimp, beef, chicken and had a perfectly fried egg resting on top. The meats were unbelievably tender. My daughter ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen that was loaded with flavor and included scallions, bean sprouts, eggs and the most tender pork slices along with a plentiful amount of ramen noodles. So I came here after a random recommendation from someone I was in an elevator with. Is that not how the best local places are found really? Someone so enamored with an experience that they are just bursting at the seams in anticipation of sharing some delicious intel? This is my second weekend in a row ordering. I wanted to make sure my sample size was fair enough to leave a review. Both times I ordered the Veggie Pad Thai and Veggie Dumplings. This time I also included an order of Shiitake Buns, mostly because really who can resist anything with the word "buns" in it, am I right? The Pad Thai is standard, but they include larger pieces of mushrooms. This was a win for me but I love mushrooms. Not having seen them in any Pad Thai I've gotten elsewhere, and knowing some people are super averse to fabulous fungi, it's worth mentioning. They also use whole peanut pieces, not the pulverized sort you typically find with this dish. Elevator Guy said it was the best he's ever had so my expectations were pretty lofty. While it's definitely not the best I've had, it is very good and tastes very fresh and not overly salty. Minus one star for the complete lack of egg and bean sprouts that are synonymous with this dish. And also for the unnecessary and weird addition of frozen corn to the Pad Thai. Why would you do this? The Veggie Dumplings seem to be the standard Veggie Dumplings, but they come with an amazing spicy oil dipping sauce that alone is worth ordering these for. The Shiitake Buns were adorable little sandwich esque looking delights. Literally little mushroom sandwiches with cucumber and green onion. So simple and so good! read more

I really like the chill vibe in the bar of this place. The dining room has a decidedly kid-friendly atmosphere, but the bar area is very relaxed. My favorite cocktail is the Asian Pear Mule; it is so tasty and refreshing. The best thing on the menu is the veggie dumplings; literally the texture, flavor, and sauce are sheer perfection. The meal I like the best is the Chicken Mazeman Ramen. It's a brothless ramen dish and the combination of flavors and textures is beyond good...and the portion is substantial. If you really like your ramen with broth, ask for it on the side and they are more than happy to oblige. In fact, the friendliness of the staff is one of my favorite things about this place. I made the horrible mistake of ordering takeout from them on Uber eats though I live ten minutes away. Takeout ramen is a huge no no. I went in person and was greeted by a super nice bartender. I ordered the sichuan dumplings which were the perfect amount of spicy and delicious. I then ordered the spicy miso ramen with extra pork and extra marinated egg. When I tell you the in person ramen tastes a million times better than anything I've ever gotten for take out!! I asked the bartender if they changed their recipe because I was so shocked at the difference in taste. This place is amazing. Also they have happy hour. The building looks unassuming but I promise the food quality is everything here. Top three in ramen places I've ever tried for sure. This was a fantastic find! I tried the ramen and the broth tasted fresh. I've been to other places where it tastes like soap. This was very tasty. We also tried some of the dim-sum dumplings. I highly recommend you try them! We liked them so much we ordered three different types of dumplings to go.
