Love Waypoint!! Came all summer by boat, at least 6-8 times. Jimmy the owner greets you on the dock and helps you tie up. The service is great, waitstaff is very friendly and the chef is accommodating when I asked to sub clams for mussels in a couple of dishes. The food is great too, especially the seared tuna. Prices are just right too, actually a deal for waterfront dining. The bottles of wine are very reasonable. On one occasion we arrived early and we were able to order wine down to the boat. I made an early reservation at 6 for a Saturday night dinner at the lovely little waterfront restaurant in Southold .Food was very good actually my salmon dish was very delicious. It was cooked to perfection with a small side order of asparagus. Watermelon cocktail was very sweet, I'll probably stick to wine if I return. This is a wonderful restaurant. It's Carefully overseen by Andre, the owner. We ordered the lobster ravioli which was presented beautifully in a cream sauce with scallops and shrimp. My braised beef over wide pasta was Delicious! We ordered appetizers as well. Crab cakes. Wonderful ! And skewered calamari. Incredible. I'm adding a couple of pictures of the appetizers. The restaurant itself is lovely in its simplicity. Not a lot of indoor tables, perhaps a dozen or so, but the outside dining area on the water is so well done! When indoor dining is full it can be a bit noisy but I wouldn't let that dissuade me from going back. We had an incredible dining experience! read more

I called to purchase a gift card for my aunt for her birthday. The woman that helped me over the phone assured me I would receive the gift card in the mail since I could not get out there to pick it up. After charging my credit card $100 on September 11, 2020 I have yet to receive the gift card-I have called 3 times and each time I have been assured that Anne the manager would be sending it out. Anne the manager had no problem charging my credit card but can't seem to find the time to follow through with the mail. I'm embarrassed I have yet to give my Aunt a birthday gift for her September 18th birthday. Can't comment on the food but the customer service is pathetic. read more

A fabulous place to sit and enjoy the view; the restaurant overlooks Peconic Bay. Have a few drinks and lunch or dinner. Your host is Andre, and he is the epitome of what a host is. He personally comes to your table to find out if there is anything you need and how you are enjoying your food. The executive chef is Yvonne - and she put the cook in cooking. No matter what comes out of her kitchen, it is of supreme quality and made as if she were personally going to feed her own kids. The portions are nicely sized and the seafood and meats are selected personally by the executive chef. The place is on the small side on the inside, which makes it quaint and intimate. Outside, the eating area is a bit larger and is enclosed during inclement weather and open, during nice weather but always under the cover of a canopy. Weekends, the WAYPOINT boasts a live band and is fast becoming the place to be and to be seen. This is not a restaurant as much as it is an experience and I highly suggest it as the next place you might consider when you are in or even anywhere near, Southold. read more

Terrible. They are way overbooking and are not staffed to handle it. There is a weirdly loud DJ booth with music totally disconnected from the setting and you can almost get past that if you're sitting far enough away and if the food or service was there but it's not. Servers try hard but can't keep up and neither can kitchen. Hours later and mediocre food later our $500+ bill arrived. Go somewhere else until they can get it together there. read more

This used to be Pepi's, but is now under new ownership. We had dinner here over the weekend and loved everything...service, staff, atmosphere, food, drinks, dessert and live entertainment! The view of the water is gorgeous. I had lobster deviled eggs...so unique and delicious! I also had the rib eye steak and it was so tender and cooked exactly as requested. This steak was better than I have had at fancy steakhouses. My hubby had their fresh pasta with short ribs and loved his also. It is hard to find places that make homemade pasta. He also said the raw clams were perfect! For dessert I had cheesecake...they bring it in from the famous Juniors in Brooklyn and I can see why it's famous! My hubby had their pistachio ricotta sponge cake and it was so fluffy it just melts in your mouth! We will definitely be back to try other menu items. read more

A beautiful outdoor waterfront setting. Nice service too. Sadly though, the food was way overpriced and underwhelming. My grilled octopus appetizer was too tough to chew. The seared tuna appetizer was delish but a very small portion. A $48 too tough to eat skirt steak, really??? Will go back for drinks at the bar to enjoy the setting but that's about all I can recommend Waypoint for. read more

From the beautiful antipasto during the cocktail hour to the delicious steak, lobster, clams, grilled vegetables and the scrumptious lobster ravioli with shrimp and scallops, everything was delicious. Infuriatingly disappointing and insanely overpriced. We came here recently for my fathers birthday after a day in Northfork. The reviews on this page would indicate otherwise and that is one of the main reasons I choose this establishment. Pros: Waterside ambiance was relaxing and pleasant. Friendly GM or Owner and Friendly Older gentleman at the door who sat us. Unfortunately that's it. Cons: - Extremely overpriced for the serving size. My family was still hungry after spending nearly $200 on LUNCH. (Only one person ordered a beverage of any kind, a Non-alcoholic lemonade.) It would not have been so bad if the serving sizes were normal, as I am used to expensive restaurants in NYC/LI, but this was ridiculous. I felt like I was scammed. - Terrible service. Painfully slow: the food came out after an hour of waiting. - We walked in to no hostess. The general manager or perhaps owner asked us if we were being helped, only to go get someone to seat us. - When other tables received baskets of bread, I had to flag down our waitress to ask for a basket, only to have her tell us there is an issue with the bread in the kitchen. After the look of confusion on our faces, since the other tables just got their breads, she said she would find us some. ten minutes later we got two slices of bread, for four people. - The staff was eager to take our plates away, as if we were being rushed. This is acceptable if this was during the lunch or dinner rush, not around 4pm where there were plenty of empty tables. I didn't even finish my appetizer and they asked to clear it away. Overall this restaurant has a wonderful bay view, and is extremely relaxing. However the price is insanely overpriced, the portion sizes are minuscule and the service need a significant improvement. We mentioned the discrepancy to the waitress and she said the owners are well aware. So we decided to go with appetizers and clearly stated that to the waitress. We ordered a soup, 1/2 dozen oysters, charred octopus, 4 baby lamb chops and 2 salads. The waitress said she'd serve the salads last. The salads were a special and not on the menu. What was described was a fennel, arugula and strawberry salad. What arrived was 2 main courses of cod with a tiny bit of the aforementioned salad ingredients on the side. We asked for a bowl of plain pasta with butter for my granddaughter. $15 for a bowl of pasta?????? Enough said. Very disappointing. Won't be returning. read more

WASTE OF MONEY! Website- stated it serves tomahawk steak, filet Mignon, and many other dishes. When we arrived the menu was different from what is on their website. When inquiring with the server regarding the difference in menu he told us the website had been hacked (side note- i had made reservations 2 weeks ago because of the items on the menu) this is something they need to take care of immediately. Completely false advertisement. This is more of a fish seafood restaurant which is fine, but one person in our party does not eat fish so she ordered pasta. It was a child size order for a grown adult. Food came out warm. Nothing was hot especially the lobster bisque. Service- absolutely awful. There were 8 tables with 2 serves and the waiter was very overwhelmed. Waiter was rude, and aggressive did not know how to manage his 4 tables. Nice atmosphere. Food was good. My wife and I had dinner at the Waypoint last Thursday night. Besides being a perfect night for eating outdoors, the location of Waypoint is serene. Just by the shore with boat slips for their customers and a small canal running from east to west with a sandbar just beyond the canal invited you to just sit on the sofas and sip a cocktail. So, what about the food. Fabulous!!! We started with a dozen little neck clams, that were as fresh and chilled as could be, and the charred octopus was perfect, just the right tenderness.( good sized portion ). Next we shared the Sapori di Tartufi (black truffle, fresh prawns, porcini mushrooms, Parmigiano Reggiano cream sauce over pappardelle pasta). It was just right (loosen your belt). We also shared the Chilean Seabass pan-seared, with little neck clams, mussels, trumpet mushrooms, fresh ginger, sherry wine sauce. Cooked exactly the way I like it. Dessert...cannoli's , a sponge cake with a pistachio nut crunch bottom and ricotta filling( was light and rich with flavor). Since it was our anniversary they brought out a slice of super rich chocolate cake on a dish with "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate syrup. John, our waiter, was great, not over bearing but keeping and eye on us. The owners..Yvonne and Andre were very accommodating. The place was full, the whole night (Thursday) but was not overly noisy, probably since the sides of the awning were open. We will be back read more
