Despite its location in busy downtown Islip, private parking, which can get a little crowded on busy days, such as weekend mornings however tables turn over quite quickly, so bring your patience. Old style counter dining is also available for single diners or those who just want to enjoy the best cup of coffee I found on Long Island. The staff seem to be a constant at this place for I always see familiar faces behind the counter or serving at the tables. Great for groups, especially after church or sports. Very small dining room so as mentioned, you may have to wait a short while, but the turnover is pretty quick. Food comes out hot, fresh, great portion size and priced accordingly. Love the kitchy, decor, and all of the signage that includes every coffee, pun known to (wo)man. I've always wondered about their business hours, especially when I see Liquor behind the counter and a dartboard. Starting to think they may run special groups out of this location, but I'm not sure. If you can't park in the parking lot, there is safe street parking and again just an all-around great experience when it comes to diner cuisine.

Ever since I moved to town, I've wanted to try this place out. It's a small shop that has an old school feel, food is very diner like, and the staff is warm and welcoming. Less options than an Oconee, but much less busy. I got one of the salads converted to a wrap, and my kid got the grilled cheese which came with an ice cream. We will definitely be back!

I love Hometown Cafe! It's more affordable than the diners nearby and the food and service is fast and prompt and friendly! Constant refills of coffee and always service with a smile! It's a small spot but you're never waiting more than 15-20 minutes since fast service is there niche! I love their pancakes but decided on avocado toast this time and absolutely loved it, the iced coffee was perfect and kept me alert for my Saturday shift. Parking is a little messy but manageable.

Although this establishment has been here for awhile this was my first visit. Met my daughter for a light lunch and since she's on a tight schedule they were extremely accommodating and happily took our order over the phone before our arrival . Within a few minutes of us sitting down our order was brought to our table ! Extremely pleasant and friendly employees ! The restaurant is small and cozy with a handful of tables . There is also a counter area with stools with a quaint bar ! There is an extensive menu with breakfast items , sandwiches , wraps , burgers , salads and more. Unfortunately the vegetarian options are very meager ! Since time was limited I had the Garden Omelet, it was very good with lots veggies ,it Included tasty home fries . The coffee was pretty good too !Just so you know they stop serving breakfast around 1:30-2. My daughter got the minestrone soup which she said was a bit bland, but it looked like it had plenty of veggies in it . I think this is a nice alternative than going to the diner !

Well, waterfront restaurant, how can you resist. My wife decides to invite her sister to come. No comment for now. Read about Valet parking but not there tonight. Restaurant not very crowded, in fact no crowds at 5:30 but got a little better later. Ok let's eat. First and to my surprise it's Restaurant Week. Special three course meal for )46. Seems like a no brainer. I started with Lobster Bisque. I couldn't find any lobster and not much flavor. Mrs. E has their Calamari which was ok but she said wouldn't order again. Dinner... I had the rigatoni with wagu meat sauce. This was pretty good and I would definitely have it again. My wife had the braised pork shank which was meh. There was a side but hard to figure out what it was. I know I said no comment to the sister-in-law but she had the salmon. Said she liked it. Just a side note. I hate it when someone says " do you want to taste mine ". NO. If I wanted to taste that I would have ordered it. Now my big, no huge problem. We ordered coffee. Just plain regular coffee. Comes out with a small vase of creamer. The creamer was very chunky. That's right clearly bad. Almost cheese. I pointed it out to our waitress who acknowledged it but left it sitting there for about 5 minutes. A little disgusting. Eventually new coffee and creamer comes back. Oh the view. Well it was dark out so the view was non existent. Not the fault of the restaurant. Will I go back? Maybe, maybe not. I think not.

The place is big inside, with some nice outdoor seating with games for the kids. Service is quick and friendly. But let's get to the important part - the lobster rolls. I've been burned before, shelling out north of $30 for a roll and being severely disappointed with the lobster count. But at Jackson Hall they deliver! These things are HUGE! I went with the lobster bomb this time with crab, and it was great with the bisque. I wish the bread was more like a sourdough though. If you're a lobster roll fan, you need to give this place a visit!!

So my wife and I decided to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary dinner at Jackson Hall. Lemme tell you...those videos and all the pictures are worth a million words. The food here is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! My wife and I shared The Lobster Bomb, and we each ordered a Connecticut Lobster Roll. The portions? They were HUGE!!! We both had plenty of leftovers to take home (and for a guy like me who can pack it in...that's saying SOMETHING!!!) The service? Jamie P was so sweet and kind. My wife who is Puerto Rican said Jamie was very amable. Absolutely true!! The menu is loaded with so many different and pleasing options. It's going to take several (and I mean SEVERAL) trips back here to try everything that's on the menu. Solid 15 out of 10 stars for Jackson Hall!! Can't wait to go back.
