The View is named perfectly, it has a stunning and best "VIEW" of the Great South Bay. The food is delicious and the drinks are mixed perfectly, one of the most authentic Long Island Ice Teas I've had in a long time.. simply right on point as I remember from OBI in the 80's. The VIEW has a beautiful large deck,to dine on their magnificent food selections and boat slips to pull up with your boat. Perfect night for a birthday celebration outdoors in the covered patio. I haven't reviewed this place in a while. My four stars was generous because the service was a really a three star for us. We started off by ordering cocktails my sangria was not good so I sent it back immediately. The other cocktails lacked alcohol but we didn't say anything. On to the appetizer which we got the Ahi tuna bowl and the crab cake, Caesar Salad the salad was so dry & we never saw the waitress for more dressing. Then we ordered rolls which were $6 for four rolls. We were a party of 5 and ask for another one we would pay and she wouldn't add an additional roll after spending $500. Now for dinner we had the Lobster Roll (warm) it was amazing. Branzino was fresh but on drier side. Burger was supposed to be medium rare and it wasn't at all. Steak was supposed to be cooked the same way but was cooked medium plus instead of medium rare. Waitress came over and said it was perfect. Maybe for her but not for someone who eats it rare. She made him feel awkward about it and ate it anyway because he was hungry. The olive oil lemon cake was more like a cupcake wasn't wowed by it. An absolutely beautiful setting, a great place for special occasions and this time it was for my birthday. We sat outside under a covered patio with amazing views of the ocean. A perfect summer night. Cocktail was excellent, food was good . One negative is that they are not as flexible as I would expect for fine dining and accommodating special diets. Like no real substitutions for a vegetable that someone cannot eat. Our server was very good however and she tried. There is a very nice indoor dining room and full bar as I'm sure there are lots of weddings, showers etc. but on a summer night, ya gotta be outside! I had the rigatoni with wagu meat sauce. This was pretty good and I would definitely have it again. My wife had the braised pork shank which was meh. There was a side but hard to figure out what it was. I know I said no comment to the sister-in-law but she had the salmon. Said she liked it. Just a side note. I hate it when someone says " do you want to taste mine ". NO. If I wanted to taste that I would have ordered it. Now my big, no huge problem. We ordered coffee. Just plain regular coffee. Comes out with a small vase of creamer. The creamer was very chunky. That's right clearly bad. Almost cheese. I pointed it out to our waitress who acknowledged it but left it sitting there for about 5 minutes. A little disgusting. Eventually new coffee and creamer comes back. Oh the view. My family hosted a surprise party at the View for my birthday. I can't thank the staff enough for making my special day amazing! The passed hors d'oeuvres were delicious! Another amazing experience at View -from start to finish. Rob greeted us immediately when we walked in all the way from the bar to make sure we were taken care of. We wished to grab a quick drink at the bar before our reservation and he showed us to 2 seats that were available and served us right away. I started out with the shrimp and scallop ceviche (a special) and little neck clams. Both were tasty! For my entree I had their warm lobster roll. It was filled with a lot of lobster. My daughter & son in law had their wedding here & all I can say is this place is perfection. From the planning to the execution, the venue covered it all. The couple used the partners of the View for photographer, videographer, flowered, DJ, etc, & everything was perfect. The staff couldn't be more accommodating & professional. Being on the river was extra special as we utilized inside & outside of the restaurant. The picture opportunities are spectacular inside & out. The gazebo on the edge of the patio was a perfect backdrop to the ceremony. Food & drinks were all made to perfection! An added bonus is the dockage as the couple & their family & friends are all boaters. Having several guests arriving by boat was unique. The new couple sailed away after the ceremony on their boat.
