Dined there last night..hard to find a prettier restaurant-so welcoming the minute you enter. We dined at 6 the place was pretty empty one table was finishing & one more came in mid meal. We ordered the Salumeria board with roasted peppers,caponata,prosciutto,mild provolone & assorted olives. The cheese was pretty tasteless,4 small pieces of red pepper, 2 olives in each small bowl. The eggplant caponata was the star. The prosciutto was chewy & tough, the suppresata was tasty. I ordered Scungilli & calamari without pasta. Scungilli was tender..the calamari cuts were uneven & some were tough. The chicken parm was good & one thing that can be said portions are huge. Also ordered was the salmon special which was okay. The other was a half portion of penne Ala vodka which was tasty.Lastly was veal sorrentino over angel hair.The veal was tough & lacked seasoning. Some may feel that a different chef prepared food on this Sunday evening. That is NO EXCUSE FOR A FAIR DINING EXPERIENCE. Our family has eaten here many times..has had events there. They can & should maybe step back & see what has to be improved. A pretty restaurant doesn't always indicate good food as we experienced saw last night. Second time visiting Stella's and again was not disappointed. Received a warm and friendly greeting when we walked in and although we did not have a reservation ( Friday evening) were sat down immediately . Second time being served by Bayron and once again the service was impeccable. Bayron was extremely knowledgeable on both the menu and house specials and offered a few suggestions as well. The warm bread was a great way to whet one's appetite along with a cocktail . Chicken parmigiana dish was delicious and well portioned. My lobster ravioli with shrimp and scallops was another great dish. Topped off dinner with coffee and cappuccino but had to pass on dessert as we were stuffed from both the bread and main dishes. Overall an excellent dining experience that I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys Italian cuisine and which is reasonably priced. Nestled on Montauk Highway just east of Nicholls, went tonight for restaurant week. Our waitress Julie was attentive and super sweet. She informed us the chef is originally from Italy! The place itself was beautiful. Clean simple colors, bright, beautiful chandeliers, feels very upscale. Now onto the food...got the price fix and it was so much food! Not a great experience here. Firstly, I made a reservation for standard and not high top seating. I arrived for my reservation exactly on time. We were told they did not have standard tables and we would have to sit with a high top table in the bar area. That alone was very frustrating because I specifically asked for a reservation without a high top. The food was I would say below average at best. My baked clams were terrible. Mozzarella in corraza was soggy. The penne vodka was average. There are so many better Italian places near by that I would go to. read more

This is our local Italian spot for my wife and I when we want a close, cozy and very enjoyable meal literally minutes away. So this past holiday weekend with friends in town who just got married, we took them out to dinner here. We love the bar area so we reserved a hi-top for the four of us. The staff, bartenders, etc and our waitress Isabella were all amazing. The drinks came out perfect to start as we ordered our PEI mussels w/ white sauce, baked clams, and salads. BTW, their toasted Italian bread and olive oil they provide is as close to Italy as you can get. So you could imagine the dipping that took place in the clam juice and the small sandwiches we made with the broccoli rabe. For dinner we went with the cavatelli bolognese and salumeria board. Their pastas are legit and everything is so fresh. Like I said, my wife and I come for quick nights out when we can grab a babysitter and this place never disappoints. It's great to meet friends, have a family outing or even just some cocktails and apps. For dessert we opted for decaf cappuccinos with the stick of rock candy!!! Our fave. Another first time visit and another great restaurant hitting it out of the ball park with food and service. It was very easy in and out off the main road an parking was easy in their very large lot. We had a full party n the back room which also leads you to a lovely outdoor area. We were a large group for a Kiwanis event. After being seated the server staff took all drink orders and explained that we would be eating family style tonight. I am so glad it was!!! Once they started bringing out the food it felt-like a non-stop event. Appetizers: - Baked Clams. - Simply amazing. Nice size whole clams in a delicous sauce with crispy breadcrumbs. -Tomatoes and Mozzarella. Delicious thick slices of tomatoes with tasty fresh thick slices of Mozz. -Salad. Plenty of cold-crisp fresh vegetables. Main Courses: -Veal Marsala - YUM, thin tender slices of veal in a tasty Marsala sauce - Chicken Francaise - Not so thin slices of tender chicken in a tasty Francaise sauce - Eggplant Rollatini - Thin rolled slices of tasty eggplant covered in a rich-tasty red sauce with plenty of cheese. Firstly, allow me to begin with the beautiful bar area. My family and I arrived simultaneously. We gathered at the bar and we had marvelous cocktails. The husbands had bourbons and us wives had Chocolate Martinis. Our barmaid, I believe her name was Kaitlin. She was attentive and ever ready to replenish our casks. We were seated in the beautiful dining room which boasts a graceful chandelier. The entire ambiance of the room lends to a very congenial atmosphere. Very much attributing to one's individual tastes. The food is robust in flavor, and so appealing to all the senses. The portions are ample to say the least, fresh and delicious, and oh so delicious! Our servers were spot on. This is the spot you drive by and always wanted to try, I'm telling you go! Here's why... First of all, you walk in and it just looks beautiful. You immediately feel like you are treating yourself to a nice meal. It's also a perfect place for a drink or solo meal at the bar. The bar area is large with t.v's and very delicious cocktail specials. The menu has some Italian classics but also is creative. I got shrimp served on spinach with garlic and mozzarella. It was excellent! I love that they served on a bed of spinach instead of a pasta. And please do yourself a favor and save room for dessert! Went here recently with my husband as part of our Christmas gift to one another. Love the atmosphere of this place on the holiday season. Very nicely decorated. Drinks were amazing and ironically festive. My husband had the lobster ravioli and I had the steak. Both huge dishes and easily shareable. Service was good, waited about thirty minutes for our check. Surprised that nobody complained especially since some tables looked to be having a romantic lunch. We were a large group celebration with a family style menu. Some tables had more people than other tables which made it harder for everyone at the larger table to have enough to taste each food item. We came here last night after a day of shopping and at first I wasn't sure if I was going to be let in due to I was in jeans. The place is gorgeous from the outside and stunning on the inside. As busy as they were, they were still able to get us in! This restaurant is beautiful in every corner. The girls at the counter were very friendly and warm. When we were sat, the server Julie came up to us right away and introduced herself and let us know about the specials. I ordered the Octopus and a salad which were both amazing and nice size portions! We also ordered muscles which was probably enough for four people. Food was amazing and presentation was as well. Last night my wife and I went to Stella Trattoria with friends for the first time, and I had to write a review as we were completely blown away by the entire experience. First, the ambience was so welcoming and comfortable, and at no time were we ever rushed throughout the entire meal. Our server, Julie, was just amazing. She was so professional, sweet and made us all feel so welcome. She was just outstanding, and I let her know this. I wish I had thought to take pictures. The food was incomparable to any Italian restaurant we've been to in years, The quality of everyone's meal was just perfection and incredibly delicious. And the portions!! We all took food home as there was just such generous portions. My wife had a Caesar Salad with her meal, and I swear the one salad could have fed all four of us. We all ordered different entrees and everyone of us were saying we wanted to return to Stella's very soon. On the drive home, my wife and I both said that we now have a new favorite restaurant. read more

This year we decided to break from tradition and I am glad we did. Although we have lived in the area for over a year, we have never been to Stella trattoria before. After last night, we will definitely be back! The selection was excellent. The portions were extremely generous and the drinks were great. My wife had the filet mignon, and she said it was cooked to perfection. I had the lobster ravioli with shrimp and scallops. Also fantastic. My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here. When we came in they offered us a bigger table since my husband uses a scooter. The waitress came over promptly to greet us. There was a wine we haven't heard of and the waitress brought us a taste. It was delicious! The bread was warm crusty on the outside soft in the middle. We started with the bar rats salad which was delicious. I had the rib eye which was perfectly grilled med rare. My husband had the lobster ravioli which was amazing. I went for an early dinner with family. Pleasant environment, spacious and great service. They had a pre-fixed menu for $46 (app, meal and dessert). Food was good with nice sized servings. Beautiful restaurant. Went on Friday night with my husband and sat at the bar. Wasn't rushed at all. Food was excellent. We had the mussels Luciano, insalata mista, and orchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe. 5 stars for all of those. Dessert was tiramisu (this wasn't great) and some delicious coffee inspired drinks off the menu. It was beautiful outside so was hoping to sit on gorgeous patio but closed on the night we went. Hope it opens back up again soon. Recommend a better cocktail menu. We will be back! read more

A great find on a random stop in for midweek dinner for lunch. Place was virtually empty which had us worried but......while being seated they gave us the $35 per person 3-course restaurant week menu that is available Monday - Friday. What came was 5 star quality and dinner portions for each delicious courses. Warm toasted homemade bread was presented with herb infused butter hello taste buds! We then had spot on pasta fagoli soup & and fried calamari served with a perfect red dipping sauce. Main dinner sized portions came next of perfect and piping hot chicken parmesan and chicken francese both served with al dente linguini. We finished this kings meal with desserts of yummy crème brûlée cheesecake on graham cracker crust & cannolis. Will definitely comeback for dinner and that great bar atmosphere and cocktails!! read more

Went to Stella yesterday for lunch and was so pleased with the food and the service. The waitress did not rush our drink or food orders. The ambiance is lovely, lots of windows and light and the decor is spot on. Since it was lunch we all opted for something different. I had a lovely beet salad that was too big for me to finish. Greens were topped with candied walnuts and circled by rainbow beets. And two delicious fried goat cheese balls. Simply wonderful. My husband went with the prix fixe luncheon, OMG was he happy he did. He started with the platter of fried calamari accompanied by a nice bowl of delicious marinara. So much calamari he shared with the table. Next he had the chicken Parmesan. He said it was the best chicken he had in YEARS! So tender, so juicy and a very ample portion accompanied with linguine pasta. One friend also ordered the chicken Parmesan, both of them thoroughly enjoyed their meal and brought home enough for two more dinners. Our fourth in the group ordered shrimp franchaise and loved it.
