Really enjoyed a recent visit to Tommys on Dickensfest weekend. Busy but well managed. Food and drinks (Beer/Wine) were very good. Service was decent. Bartenders working very hard and barely keeping up but I give them all the credit in the world for managing to stay on top of things. I always like the ambiance here. It's just a comfortable pub environment with tons (probably literally tons!) of TVs everywhere you look, which I totally love. We didn't have anything too complicated. Draft beer and wine and flatbread, but if I went there again today I'd probably have the exact same thing. Looking for a casual night out with friends in Port Jefferson and we found the perfect spot on this Saturday night. Think bar & grill for Tommy's Place. There are TVs so you can catch your sports games and news. Having never been here, we were drawn to the outdoor dining on this gorgeous evening out. We were quickly seated by our waiter. He was super friendly and happy to be our server for the night. Not the fish and chips I'm used to in that it was made with panko crumbs instead of beer battered. But it was fresh and yummy. Others ordered burgers and focaccia bread pizza, which they all enjoyed. Great night out with friends with absolutely NO rushing us out to clear a table. Came for dinner and sat outside in the patio area. It is in the small parking lot but still kinda blocked off and private. The staff was friendly. We ordered a couple of appetizers to share. Everything was cooked well. It was on the pricey said but that is probably more because of the location of the restaurant. The calamari special was really good. Excellent choice for Father's Day, as most other restaurants had a price fixe menu for Father's Day. Outdoor seating was a breeze (literally) and their Tommy's IPA works very well with their Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. The greens in the side salad were crunchy and flavorful. The Bavarian pretzel can be shared with 3 persons easily and comes with 3 dipping sauces. Our server Lisa was excellent. Will return when back in the Port Jeff area! read more

We went here to meet some relatives when we got off the ferry and I wish we hadn't. The onion soup was super salty, I couldn't finish it even though it had a great cheese coating. The short rib quesadilla was a bland and lacked taste so basically did not enjoy the place. Even the coffee was a k cup set up- not very good and cannot recommend the food. The others in my party had the blackened flounder that was dried out and the chicken Caesar that was mostly lettuce. Not worth going here. read more

Mix feeling about this place. The four of us ordered different dishes to try, and some were surprisingly tasty, while others were quite disappointing. The highlights were the ahi tuna and the seafood diablo. Both dishes were executed well, and the portion on the seafood diablo was big enough for two. Now comes the disappointing dishes - first up, mango mạhi-mahi. It was meh, especially when you compare it against the ahi tuna, which was the same price as the mahi-mahi. The worst dish of it all was the sliced steak. We asked for rare, and it came out well done. The waitress apologized and offered to bring a new dish, but we were pretty full and didn't wanna wait again as it took a while for this dish to come out. We had a feeling that the kitchen prepped it a while back, but it was left on the counter, which continued to cook while the steak was on the skillet. For a juicy steak lover, this dish was terrible. Walked in, was greeted by a less than friendly hostess. Asked to see a drink menu, and after a while of looking at the menu, had to ask if we could get a table. Sat at our table for about 15 minutes, with no sign of service. Was then informed we had to go up to the bar to get service. Proceeded to give the bartender my ID, and she accused it of being a fake despite it having been my 21st birthday the day prior. To start Great friendly servers and nice ambiance. For food we started off with the pretzel which was a decent size but I wish was a bit larger. The dips were assorted well and very tasty especially the white one I can't recall and beer cheese and honey mustard are solid standards. For the main I had the Tommy's Burger which for the most part was very tasty but the meat and fillings could have been a bit bigger and the buns are a bit too much in terms of thickness. Enjoyed a delicious lunch here after going to the Pt. Jefferson Farmers Market. The four of us were pleasantly greeted upon entering and offered table seating inside or outdoors. We ordered our our appetizer & food selections which were served promptly. Food portions were good and each of us were pleased with our choices. I truly hate giving bad reviews, especially now during covid, but I'm just being honest. I came here on football Sunday to catch a few games. The place was literally empty. We were seated right away and the server took our orders. Our food and drinks were out pretty quickly which was great. We ordered the impossible burger and some wings. The food was not very good honestly. The wings were tasteless and not very fresh, which is weird. They looked pretty good but the meat was dry. Also our server forgot about us and was gone for maybe an hour. I found it odd because it's not like the place was packed and she got busy with other customers. They also have tables in the front away from the bar for family's or whomever. Good service. I have been coming to this place for quite some time and I have never had a problem with the atmosphere or the service ever before. Last night I was with my girlfriend, and my friends and we had ordered a drink at the bar. After we had received our drinks, a lady had sat down at the seat in the front corner at the bar, directly next to us and started to point at us while talking to one of the bartenders saying, "this is my spot, why are these people here." It was until a short moment after I had realized this was the manager of the bar who was speaking and I couldn't believe it. She was sloppy drunk, acting very irrationally and irresponsible. In my opinion, that is no way a manager should be acting at all. As a manager you should uphold integrity, and be respectful. This lady did the complete opposite, and ultimately embarrassed herself. After my friends and I were there for no more than 5 minutes after she had tried to remove us from our spot, she then had some man come over and try to intimidate us to move. We then moved, to avoid any issues because if we hadn't, it would have escalated. This has never happened to me ever before, and the manager should be ashamed. I will not be coming here, until the current manager is no longer, she should be ashamed at the way she acted. read more

I am well of legal limit and because my id scanned as potentially fake they denied me access to bar even after offering to bring a cop in and offering multiple alternative forms of identifications. Were incredibly rude about it and refused any solution i presented just saying "the cop will agree with our scanner". Typical bar food, slow service and not very attentive. The prices were high for the quality of food delivered. Crab cakes had zero crab visible and there was barely any taste of crab meat. They looked fried from frozen. The flatbread margherita was just ok with what tasted like canned sauce. I had lunch on a Monday afternoon. The restaurant was nearly empty as it was the off-season on a very cold day. I chose the table by the window with a view of the street. My waitress, Caitlyn, was excellent. I had the giant pretzel with 3 dips as an appetizer and the fish and chips for the entree. Both were delicious. The shoestring fries were a welcome treat. They have an extensive list of beers on tap. I had the New Belgium Fat Tire Ale, which was very good. Caitlyn timed the courses well yet was not oversolicitous. If you are sick of the New York "wear your mask sometimes" nonsense and stupidity, go to Long Island. This place has outdoor seating, indoor tables as well as the bar itself. The bar is great. Good IPA's on tap, good cocktails. Food is pretty good as well. Your typical bar food is to be found here. I'm not a big fan of the flatbreads, but there's an entire section for it. I've had a burger here and french onion soup -- both were delicious. That's why I hate New York in 2021 and love Long Island / suburbs. Want to wear a mask? Go ahead. Want to not wear a mask? Your call. As corny as it sounds, this is what freedom means -- freedom to choose what to do. Food came out cold. Dont understand as the place was empty. Told the server that the fries were the main issue and asked her to get us some hot fries. She did.... and then charged us for the hot fries! I suppose we should have sent the whole meal back but it took a while to get the first one. I have stopped by Tommy's a few times to get cheap drinks in Port Jeff. This place is average and normally over crowded. They serve free popcorn at the bar which is pretty sweet. One thing that gets me every time is the men's restroom. There is a toilet in the middle of the bathroom with no separation and three urinals adjacent. I one time walked in to a dude actually using the toilet with three other guys awkwardly trying not to make eye contact. One of the strangest experience in my life with no explanation why this was set up as such. The drinks are ok and but nothing special. It is indeed one of the cheaper places in port jeff to get drinks. There is an indoor and out door eating area which is great for those who are not drinking fans. read more

Had a burger which was a good size. Fries were cold. Guiness came in a beer glass so it just was not poured right. But the major issue for us was the blaring tv speakers during the football game.
