Came for dinner and sat outside in the patio area. It is in the small parking lot but still kinda blocked off and private. The staff was friendly. We ordered a couple of appetizers to share. Everything was cooked well. It was on the pricey said but that is probably more because of the location of the restaurant. The calamari special was really good. I ordered the chicken fingers and sweet potato fries and they were standard tasting but good too!

Excellent choice for Father's Day, as most other restaurants had a price fixe menu for Father's Day. Outdoor seating was a breeze (literally) and their Tommy's IPA works very well with their Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. The greens in the side salad were crunchy and flavorful. The Bavarian pretzel can be shared with 3 persons easily and comes with 3 dipping sauces. Our server Lisa was excellent. Will return when back in the Port Jeff area!

Mix feeling about this place. The four of us ordered different dishes to try, and some were surprisingly tasty, while others were quite disappointing. The highlights were the ahi tuna and the seafood diablo. Both dishes were executed well, and the portion on the seafood diablo was big enough for two. Now comes the disappointing dishes - first up, mango mạhi-mahi. It was meh, especially when you compare it against the ahi tuna, which was the same price as the mahi-mahi. The worst dish of it all was the sliced steak. We asked for rare, and it came out well done. The waitress apologized and offered to bring a new dish, but we were pretty full and didn't wanna wait again as it took a while for this dish to come out. We had a feeling that the kitchen prepped it a while back, but it was left on the counter, which continued to cook while the steak was on the skillet. For a juicy steak lover, this dish was terrible. It is too bad that this was the last thing I remember for dining here.

    Pretzel

To start Great friendly servers and nice ambiance. For food we started off with the pretzel which was a decent size but I wish was a bit larger. The dips were assorted well and very tasty especially the white one I can't recall and beer cheese and honey mustard are solid standards. For the main I had the Tommy's Burger which for the most part was very tasty but the meat and fillings could have been a bit bigger and the buns are a bit too much in terms of thickness. The blueberry cooler drink I had was quite good from what I recall.

If you find yourself in Port Jeff and need a drink I would suggest this place. We wanted to grab something to eat next door but there was a huge wait so we went with this spot. We had a huge group so we grabbed a beer at the bar before sitting door.

Nice experience here last night. Had the chicken fingers and fries. Chicken was actually pretty good but the fries were different than last time. Last night's reminded me of McDonald's. My fiancé had the boneless wings and creamy potato soup and said the soup might be the best soup he has ever had!

I truly hate giving bad reviews, especially now during covid, but I'm just being honest. I came here on football Sunday to catch a few games. The place was literally empty. We were seated right away and the server took our orders. Our food and drinks were out pretty quickly which was great. We ordered the impossible burger and some wings. The food was not very good honestly. The wings were tasteless and not very fresh, which is weird. They looked pretty good but the meat was dry. Also our server forgot about us and was gone for maybe an hour. I found it odd because it's not like the place was packed and she got busy with other customers. If you're in the area and want to try, go for it, maybe the service will be different for you.

A very elaborate variety of beer on tap. I tried the pumpkin Ale and it was good. It was Leap Pile from Greenport NY. The food is good and fresh. A must go to when in Port Jefferson.

Made our way to our table ( although we had a reservation still had to wait for the table to empty and then get reset). We were warmly greeted by our server Charlotte who was friendly and engaging and made several suggestions whether it was appetizers, main course or even special drinks. Started with the lettuce wraps and cauliflower bites which i highly recommend. Followed up with the Billie and Chester burgers which were outstanding. The chicken Milanese was pretty good for a non Italian restaurant although the Bleeker sandwich was a tad dry but otherwise good. The cheesecake and Irish coffees were well received to round out the evening. I was very impressed that Charlotte went out of her way to ask a staff member ( didn't get his name manager maybe) to double check for the availability of espresso coffee after we were informed they had none. My friends were extremely impressed as well as pleased a package of beans were found. I was impressed when I requested Tullsmure Dew and not Jameson Whiskey in my Irish Coffee. Overall great pub serving a good selection of beers and food with friendly and in our case accommodating staff members. When in Port Jefferson don't miss out.

The lady at the counter (Kelly, I think?) was incredibly friendly, very personable, was happy to chat with my very talkative daughter, gave us recommendations for what's popular to eat at Portside & gave us a great recommendation of a place to get some ice cream after lunch, and even offered us a cup of ice water for my pup. We grabbed a table outside on the patio & ordered our food. We only waited about 15-20mins after ordering before all our plates and drinks came out. Everything tasted fantastic. The fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and my Chicken Caesar wrap was one of the best I've ever had. My dad had cobb salad that looked amazing, sis ordered the portside burger w/ side of onion rings that was really delicious, and hubby & daughter split a chicken fingers basket. We left nothing on our plates when we were done. The food was that excellent. Next time we visit Port Jefferson, we will be back to Portside Bar!

Had a very nice dinner with my grumpy husband . He seemed to enjoy his wings and even chuckled at the choir group having dinner in the back which made for a very nice and happy atmosphere. He was also very punchy after two beers on tap. He had the Merman ‍ and the wave chaser. The Wave Chaser was his favorite since the Merman was a bit too bitter for his taste buds. Which is surprising considering his usual grumpy mood. Had a very nice waitress and offered an Aperol on the rocks instead of a Spritz. It was absolutely delicious and now I only want Aperol this way! I'm Mediterranean so it is now my favorite drink! The spritz part can go spritz itself. Hey owner your waitress deserves a raise! These kids work hard and doing a great job here! Now let's get to the yummy food - Had two appetizers and a main to share. The calamari platter was good and so were the buffalo wings not too spicy. I tried the chicken caprese and it was delectable without being too heavy and the sauce was nice to dip the calamari appetizer in. Nice and lemony !! We finished off the other an Irish coffee the mint on top of the cream was delicious - Super great service and great establishment to visit!

The food and service were great, and I want to acknowledge our server Christine, who was a real joy to interact with. We stopped in for a Friday lunch. I ordered a salad and one of the soup specials. My Burrata Salad was $14 for a big portion of mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and basil topped with a big hunk of burrata cheese, roasted peppers and a balsamic glaze. The salad was excellent, especially the creamy decadent Burrata. Half of it came home with us. My soup was a cup of Mediterranean Lentil for $6. It came in a bowl-sized portion with a big hunk of fresh Italian bread. Both were great, and I loved how the soup was served piping hot and not tepidly lukewarm like so many places serve their soups. My wife ordered an Eggplant Parmigiana Flatbread, and this is where Christine displayed her customer service skills. She told us the restaurant had run out of Eggplant the night before and ran back to the kitchen to see if there was a new supply ready for today. She came back and said it hadn't been fully prepped yet, so it wasn't available, but would we like to try Cauliflower Parmigiana instead? That sounded intriguing to us, and we agreed. The flatbread that came out ($16) was delicious. Big nuggets of sauteed Cauliflower with cheese and marinara sauce on a flatbread. It tasted so good, we vowed to try making our own Cauliflower Parm at home. Lunch ran around $40 after tax and tip, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Port Bistro & Pub.
