We were recommended this place yesterday as "good food, reasonable prices". So we went for lunch today. The one thing that struck me immediately was the smell. It smells like a Savers. I don't know if it's the way they clean (or don't) but the smell never left. If you're sensitive to smells, this might be a turn off for you. The menu is kind of standard luncheonette fare with sandwiches around $12-14 and platters in the $20 range. I will say this, the food was good for what it was and it was served hot. It came with no sides and was a bit meager on the inside of the sandwich however. I probably should have asked about refills on iced tea because my iced tea bill was higher than my lunch bill. This seems petty for something that costs pennies to make and costs $3.95 a cup. This, in itself, is enough to keep us from going back though being sensitive to smells might have been enough. Reading past reviews it saddens me that we might have missed the boat on its better days. You should know that they don't accept tips on your credit card...something we didn't know beforehand. read more

The female waitress was not interested, was unable to understand allergy concern, never returned to bring sauces for sandwiches or refilled drinks. But returned to say oh no fries or cole slaw?? for an upcharge? Hmmm.. Been coming here 21+ years I loved this place and it was a Huntington staple. The young men bussing tables were busy busy wiping cleaning the outdated restaurant. My first time in TK's after driving past it for years. It's a bustling diner vibe with a nautical and nostalgic feel. I sat at the counter and saw they had "Our Gang" Little Rascals on the TV. I spoke with TK who started the business in his mid 20's. He was mostly watching his customers and staff but we did chat a bit. He learned the business at yacht and country clubs in Huntington. He takes pride in serving a high volume of food at good prices. There aren't many places in Huntington you can eat as inexpensively. Of course you aren't eating a gourmet meal with fancy prices. If you want a solid meal for a reasonable price I recommend it. I plan to return and do a deeper dive on their menu. read more

Have been coming here for years. a new owner took over, 1st most of the workers don't understand English, and the 2 or 3 that do are so rude . order 2 Mimosa and 3 sodas that part of the bill was $45.00. I go to the high end restaurants in Huntington and pay 8 dollars can you imagine this place is charging 15 for flat champagne. we order fajitas and we ask for some salsa on side. makes sense right? the bill came and we were charged 5 dollars for the salsa, when I question the answer from the new owner was, that's what we charge for. I hope it was worth losing a customer of 30 years, plus her friends went to Mundays the next day. got my Mimosa for $8 and then over easy thanksgiving eve and got an apple cider Mimosa with maple sugar around the rim of the glass for $8. TK's Galley is more like TK's Shipwreck. We stopped by this place by accident looking to grab a quick breakfast. I wish we would've at least read the previous yelp review before we went here. The service was very slow and it felt like our waitress either didn't know what she was doing or just didn't care. We had to get up and tell the her we were ready to order as she was just hanging out behind the counter in the middle of the restaurant. We had to use the same method to ask for the check. During the meal she never even checked on us. The food wasn't much better. The toast with butter wasn't toasted, and there was hardly any butter on it. The omelettes were more like scrambled eggs as they were wet and fell apart when you cut it. The food was definitely not worth the price. To top it off, the place itself feels run-down and outdated. It could really use a refresh -- both in looks and in attitude. Not somewhere I'll be returning to anytime soon. read more

Diane was our server and she was lovely, attentive and kind. We enjoyed our original and blueberry pancakes, their onion rings & coffee were great. The sweet potato fries are probably house made fries but they're softer than what I'm used to. My boyfriend's chocolate milk was okay, tasted powdery. I lovedd their decoration, it definitely made me smile walking in and just sitting there enjoying the atmosphere around me. I asked for iced caramel latte but they don't have specialty coffee which I was sad about. However, their iced coffee is great nonetheless. When we sat down for our table, I saw an old creamer metal cup from probably the previous customers that sat there. One note about their ketchup is it tasted off to me, almost like it has gone sour, it ruined whatever food I was dipping into the ketchup. There is outdoor seating if anyone is wondering and wants to bring their dog like I wanted to but I wasn't sure so I didn't. The tables are small and limited. read more

I had been going there for years, the new staff absolutely running it into the ground. I went and we ordered two flounder sandwiches. Mine came and half the side was completely empty, other half had flounder size of my pinky about 1/4 piece of fish. Waitress didnt come back for 20 minutes. I showed her and asked to speak to manager. She laughed at me, manager never came and I got bill for full price sent by bus girl who didnt speak english. I called and spoke to manager who said owner would call me back. Well, owner never called me back and I called and they hung up the phone. I was trying to let owner know because restaurant used to be great in past. Its very sad to see the new staff has run it into ground. Please note the other sandwich at table came the same way too. TK's is one of the best local gems to get a delicious breakfast! It's cozy, nautical atmosphere make me feel at home. My experiences here have always added light to my mornings. My bf and I were seated right away, and the staff are always smiling and happy to serve you. The food came out in a short time, and I felt extremely satisfied with my meal. I love how they also give you plenty of sides to the meal! All of this was reasonably priced too. I appreciate TK's for its impeccable food, service, and atmosphere. Had breakfast here twice. Was pleased both times. Homemade corn beef hash was excellent. Coffee is delicious. Very smooth. Home fries were better than most diners, they use red skin potatoes. Waitresses were friendly and attentive, both visits. The place has an open grill set up where you can watch the cook make your food. Cook seemed very pleasant and happy doing his job and I thanked him both times for an excellent breakfast. First off, the place is DIRTY. Secondly, when I ordered an omelette, I was asked if I wanted toast or potatoes to which I declined and I said, can I please sub for lettuce and tomato. They said yes. When the bill came and I questioned the extra five dollar charge I was told it was for lettuce and tomato and the server said she assumed I knew. I said that's unacceptable and she went to the manager and they would not remove the charge. We paid the bill but the $5.00 came out of her tip. Walked out... have never done that! Nobody greeted me, I seated myself. When waitress finally came over to me, challenged me on how I asked my eggs to be cooked. I said (in frustration) that I've been a patron for 20 years & always ask for the eggs to be be prepared "medium, break yolks". She challenged that & said she's "been here many years". My order would well done. She then walked away to get the cook's opinion. Minutes passed as they tried to figure out a simple request. I left. Dined here and there was a big dog in the bed of a pickup truck backed into a spot so the dog could watch his owners dine through the big glass windows. Twice, plates full of food scraps were brought out on the same plates the customers eat off of so that the dog could lick the plate clean and slobber it up. T.K.'s Gallery is a stopped moment in time - from the old photo's on the wall (almost all nautical in theme and almost all from the Huntington area) to the old style tables. The place reeks charm. The kitchen is exposed - greasy spoon style and it seems almost like it you are sitting in someone's kitchen nook - there are large boxes of cereal behind the grill, coffee mugs here, there and everywhere and a caged liquor cabinet - for those later in the evening libations. The food is standard greasy spoon - nothing spectacular, but solid. Coffee is hot and good and the wait staff is usually quick and efficient. Parking lot outside. read more

I get my hair cut at Cartel the Salon, in the same little strip mall where this restaurant resides. Since I usually get my hair done early Saturday morning, I stop here after for breakfast. It is also at the connecting points between two of my favorite motorcycling roads, so I'll often stop here on a Sunday morning ride too. I've really grown to love this place. It is a throwback to the homey little eateries I can barely remember from my youth. The food is prepared on a grill right in front of the counter stools. The chef really seems to enjoy what he does, as he's always smiling with a pleasant word for everyone. I've had their Eggs Benedict on a number of occasions, and my FAVORITE variant (which they don't have all the time) is the Crabcake Benedict. Not cheap, but certainly worth the price if they have it that day. Only warning I'd give is that this is a "Cash Only" establishment. It says so right on the door when you enter. I've never had any meal here other than breakfast, and up till recently they only served breakfast and lunch. Dinner is relatively new but I can't comment on it either. If lunch and dinner are as good as breakfast, though, you won't be disappointed. read more

I will admit I was a bit turned off from the start. I hate going to restaurants where there isn't a least a small lobby of some sort to wait in and you feel like you are always in the way, or standing over someone while they eat. It happened that it was pouring the day we went (arrived at 11:45 on a Sunday) and so waiting outside wasn't an option. There is a table very close to the front door and I felt bad as the people in our party tried not to stand over them as we waited and they ate. But there was no where else to go. Food was OK. I had the lobster benedict which was good, but it's hard to screw up lobster. My husband had the blueberry pancakes and I tried some. They were so dense and dry, he wound up not finishing them. Coffe cup they brought for one of the people in our party had lipstick all over it. They brought us another one but never took the dirty one off the table. I feel like you can get something better tasting (although maybe not as different as lobster benedict) at any LI diner. read more

I've driven past TK's so many times, but finally stopped during the recent power outage when I heard the hum of a generator. So glad I did! TK's is pretty much a breakfast and lunch diner, but with an old-school boaty vibe. Reminds me of so many south shore restaurants when I was a kid. But TK's is still kicking! Better yet, to enhance your experience try to talk to the owner "TK" on the phone, He will be happy to tell you that he is too busy and " can't be bothered with this" Listen for the slam of the receiver when he hangs up on you!! For about 15 years TK's has been out special "go to" breakfast place for weekend brunch, rest assured it won;t be any more. As for the Covid issue, the restaurant is small. There was no social distancing nor plastic dividers between the tables. Clearly the owner is far more interested in the bottom line than in the health and safety of his customers. HIs response to me is indicative of his attitude to patrons, he "can't be bothered." read more

Been to TK Galley a few times for lunch with a friend always greeted by a gray haired women who warmly invited us to sit anywhere. Food was always good, portion great as well as the price was reasonable. Went yesterday, with same friend, at about 2PM, and no gray haired lady. Barely a hello. I am aware they close at 3PM. We were told we could only sit on one side because they had already swept the other side. Okay no hardship. Waitress was quickly placed menus on table and asked what we wanted to drink. Returned with drinks and we ordered our sandwiches. After serving us, there was one other table occupied and a couple of people at the counter, the check was immediately placed on table. At about 2:20 they started to bring in the outside tables and chairs, then some of the lights were turned off. Needless to say we paid and left. Not going back. The servers are far from rookies and are well seasoned, even the owner and his wife perform all the same duties as the staff. The prices are reasonable. Observing the cooks, you could tell they know there way around the kitchen. My sister had the Eggs Benedict w tomato and said it was delicious. There is a bar seating for individuals or couples looking to read the newspaper and tables to accommodate larger parties. The owner of this place is an entitled, arrogant, angry man who is absolutely one of the rudest people I have ever come across in an establishment. I am not going to deny that the Lobster Benedict is fantastic. That's all I've ever eaten there so I can't speak of the other food. My family went in for a birthday (about 8 people). One person at the table never got their food. They kept saying, "it's coming, it's coming right out," for about 10-15 min after everyone else was eating. We tried waiting, but then ours got cold. Kept asking waitress. She was so embarrassed. Finally came out. We were all done. Owner comes over, yells at us like it was our fault, said, "who cares it was probably good and you ate it so what the hell is the problem?" There were also 2 children at the table. The waitress was stunned, yet also didn't look that surprised. It was as if she knew that's how he would react because that's who he is. The other patrons were looking like wow, what's going on over there. I asked if he recognized both my husband and I, who have frequented his diner for years. He brushed us off, said who cares, and told us he didn't care if we came back or not. I couldn't believe it. What an ass. I told him we were never coming back and never telling anyone to go there. He really didn't care. As an owner, I would've been mortified and trying to make things better. Instead, he kept his arrogance in full view. How do those ladies even deal with him?
