Looking for a quick bite in West Babylon, we stopped in here. Nothing necessarily special or outstanding per se, but nothing bad either. Food was solid and good. Nice portions served up with good service in a nice diner atmosphere. Very convenient location wise as it is right off Sunrise Highway.

Let's start with the ONE pro---child menu eggs were decently priced and a good portion size. Cons-The avocado toast was supposed to be made on ciabatta bread- it came out like this and I just accepted it (my own fault). Took one bite and . The absolute worst avocado toast I've ever had in my life. The avocado was definitely some old pre-made guacamole they got out of a tub... tasted like plastic. It was ice cold. When I gave it back to the waitress when we were ready for the bill, I told her it was cold and terrible, so I didn't want it wrapped. I was told avocado toast is never hot. Well, isn't toast hot? Or at least warm? Bread was mushy like Wonder bread. She seemed annoyed that I didn't eat it. I never asked for it to be taken off the bill.. I should've known better not to order anything. Ambience was normal like a diner... somewhat dingy. It seemed like some shady people hanging around outside in the parking lot. I will not be returning and I highly suggest you find another place to enjoy a meal.

This place is a local gem. I have been coming here for a couple years and have nothing but great things to say about the food and people, especially Achilles. If you're in the area I highly recommend you check it out!

Consistent food, service, and atmosphere keep me coming here at least 3 times a week for my go to bacon cheeseburgers, pancakes, grilled cheese, or French dip. If you're looking for a great diner this is the place.

I'm torn on Taïm. My feelings fall somewhere in the 3.5 realm and (from what you can see of this…read morereview) I chose to round up, though my reasoning might be a little skewed. Let me explain. I met my buddy here for dinner back in late February before heading to the nearby movie theater. I hadn't known Taïm was so close by (or to be honest, what it even was!) until my Yelp search led me to this location. A little Mediterranean-esque meal sounded good and so we strolled in around 7:45 to a semi-spacious spot with no one else in it. Perhaps it was a bit chilly inside, a tad later for some, or maybe the menu isn't/wasn't as enticing to everyone (I watched a family of 4 walk in and out after reading it over), but whatever the reason, it worked for us. Reading things over on that menu, taim feels a lot like Wild Fig or Hummus Mediterranean, two spots with a similar setup that I find to be superb. In the same bowl (or plate as they call it) manner, you can pick your rice/salad base, protein/veggie, toppings, and then sauce. There was plenty to choose from though I opted for the rice over chicken shawarma with toppings of pickled onion, feta, Kalamata olives, peppers, and a cucumber/tomato mix. I got harissa sauce on the side and it came with pita bread too. My buddy got a similar mixture of things. The price for my plate came to a little over $15 which seemed reasonable enough. Once settled at a seat, I dug into the plate with the zing of the chicken shawarma taking hold along with plenty of spicy/tangy/creamy/fresh flavors coming through as well. The pita was subpar if we're being honest here, but I used it with some of that harissa which helped. Though mostly tasty, the plate did seem a little small and by the time I finished, I probably could have had something else to feel a little more full. So why the borderline review? Honestly, the experience was fine, but as you can kind of tell, nothing about taim really jumped out to me. Interior was basic (with honestly too many stools and not enough seats), price was decent, food was pretty good, and service was ok (the staff seemed a little out of it) so me returning here feels like, at first, a real tossup...unless you throw in that proximity piece. Though it shouldn't really count, the closeness to the movie theater (which I will occasionally visit when meeting up with friends) will potentially get me to come back to a place like this again if I'm looking for a lighter type of meal. So with that in mind, taim may hold a purpose for some when in this area and wanting this type of cuisine. Overall, I think Taïm is nothing necessarily special, but it can serve a purpose with its unique type of food in a location that does not seem to offer up too much else like it. Any competition might eliminate the desire to go here and therein lies the dilemma, but for now, I'll push things north and give taim those four stars if for no other reason than where it is and what's around it. Perhaps more visits (because of cinema closeness) will help to solidify those four celestials, but only time will tell.

It is conveniently positioned in a new set back strip mall complex along the popular north-south thoroughfare. AMBIANCE: The interior is large, with high ceiling and many windows. The design is simple and cheerful, with blond wood surfaces and sunny yellow graphics. Not by any means a cozy space, but inviting nonetheless. FOOD and BEVERAGE: The expanding chain offers custom Mediterranean plates and pitas filled with flavorful and vibrant components. I've enjoyed a plate with vibrant green falafel and another one with cauliflower shawarma -- both surrounded by my choice of sides and sauces (see attached photos for component details). A beverage of chilled house-made ginger mint lemonade was the perfect accompaniment. Be sure to add the Baklava! SERVICE: Service is efficient. TIP: A small patio courtyard next to the restaurant allows outside dining during pleasant weather. There are quite a few locations around NYC (12) and one in DC, so good to keep in mind when traveling and looking for a reasonably priced, flavorful, and nutritious quick meal.

The building is divided into two sections. On one side is a market area fully stocked with all sorts of specialty ingredients. They have halal meat, imported spice blends and mixes, tea coffee and candy, and snacks and drinks that looked very intriguing. I got some grape leaves in brine, Turkish coffee beans, and some authentic turkish delight (lokum) with pistachios, pomegranate, and rose petals. On the other side is the restaurant/deli counter- where soups, dips, and salads are ladled out of big containers under a cold glass case, and grilled meat and doner kebabs are prepared. It was pretty empty when I went in, but they had a large seating area, so I assume it gets busy. Today for lunch, I picked up a large mezze platter to share with my family. For the three sides, I got hummus, babaganoush, and piyaz (a white bean, pepper, and onion salad). The hummus was absolutely perfect, smooth, creamy, garlicky, packed full of tahini goodness. I totally want to go back and try some drizzled over chicken or lamb! The babaganoush was nicely smoky and slightly tangy, and the piyaz was a great balance to these two creamy dips. I also got a side of their homemade dolma, which were really interesting, they're slightly sweet and stuffed with rice, carrots, and what tasted like cinnamon or nutmeg. They also included half a loaf of fresh warm bread with toasted sesame seeds on top as part of the mezze deal. And the best part was that all of this food only cost $22!!!!! Any time I'm in the area I'm stopping here to get my fix!!

Not any more. We ordered our food for delivery. We ordered it at 3 for a 5:30 (ish) drop off. It arrived at 5:45 (not a problem at all). 3 major issues. 1) ALL of the hot food was ice cold. I mean refrigerated cold. Bread products hard as a rock and completely cold. This meant taking most items apart as they had hot and cold components, microwaving what is supposed to be got and the reassembling. I am guessing they filled the order at 3 and handed it to the delivery driver at 5:30 right out of the refrigerator. 2) An entire meal was missing. We didn't even have that many items. No one counts? No one checks? 3) One of the 2 desserts was burnt to the point of being inedible. The other was made completely correct. Of the 7 items in our order only 2 were good. One of the desserts and the cold appetizer (which was actually a little bit warmer than our "hot" food). Uber Eats gave me a full refund with no pushback, especially after the picture they asked for of the burned dessert. There are quite a few other places with an almost identical menu and similar (former) quality in my area. I will just go to them from now on. Sad. This was our go to.
