I come here at least once a month for breakfast and I'm always pleased. There's never a long wait, and parking is easy to find each time. Everyone is pretty friendly. They also do military/city worker discounts. So, thank you, for that! My usual orders (on different occassions, of course): - 2 eggs scrambled with american cheese with home fries, bacon and wheat toast - Strawberry Shortcake waffle - silver dollar pancakes - 2 eggs over easy with ham, home fries and bacon The service is fast and efficient. Food is good. I have never ordered anything i didn't like. They lose 2 stars though for the girl at the counter. I placed a take out order and i go to pay with my card. She runs the card and then has the audacity to ask if i want her "to put a tip on it for the takeout girl". I'm sorry, but I've been a waitress, a bartender, and worked in catering. I have never asked someone to give me a tip. It's tacky and makes things awkward. As I'm waiting for my food, three other people pick up their food after me and paid with a card and she did the same thing to them! Everyone said "no". I always have loved the food and owner. However, recently have been very unhappy with management and new staff. This is a time where small businesses need support. I've been a regular and recently the staff started charging for extra sauces on my orders which I find disgraceful when I come so much to support and give them my money. The little microscopic sizes for dressings aren't enough to cover my food. I could see charging me if I didn't use them or took them home untouched. Meanwhile someone else could come in there and have unlimited coffee refills with as many creamers and milk needed which IS A COST FACTOR TOO. My advice is, think who is supporting you and you want to keep coming. My meals cost way more than coffee and its bad enough you took the lunch specials off. Ah - I just love a steaming cup of coffee when my ass hits the seat. To me, this is what a diner should deliver and Terrace did not disappoint! Nicely decorated and clean, this diner is excellent. It appears to be a Greek family run place and the service is fabulous. Our waitress was johnny-on-the-spot with the coffee and the our breakfast order was delivered super quick. She checked on us a few times and was just the cheeriest person - it really is nice to see someone who is ok with their job instead of the usual gruff "want some coffee??" that you seem to get everywhere else. Walked inside with our masks And paid for our food- Can someone tell me why or even how the cashier has the audacity to say "and would you like to put a tip on the card?" I would give the diner an overall 4 but it does break down!! 5 for customer service is a definitely. I've ordered to pick up food a bunch of times. At times it's at odd hours also or near closing when we want food but get lazy! At times they have forgotten or didn't do something as asked but they always make it up for you. My big thing is im allergic to red onion so when I order things I make lots of changes. When I order salads I basically take one of there's but make it my own. They are usually perfect and only once I got the onion but I just took it off. The baked clams are delicious! I totally recommend that! The hot open turkey sandwich is another winner. It's real turkey! Not too dry and usually comes with stuffing which is like having thanksgiving any night. For me I get my salads and add the turkey! I've definitely ordered more times than I've check in because I was soooo occupied with eating - then left in a food coma :) hehe They have great options and the portions are great as well. I can't believe that I am giving you guys another bad review. I had a BAD experience with a waiter there a few years ago and vowed never to return. However I wanted to support the local merchants, and we decided to give it another try. Two adults, the bill was over 60 dollars, and we DIDNT get two lavish meals, we got sandwiches! Here is the issue, my meal came with fries, I asked for a baked potato, which should be a substitute, it wasn't...... FOUR DOLLARS for a baked potato?? I asked for brown gravy on the side, a dollar, my wife asked for extra ranch dressings, and extra three dollars, we ordered two cups of tea....3.50 each?? I could buy a BAG of potatoes, and a box of tea for less than 3 dollars. SO you guys while you suffered during covid, pay back your customers by bending them over and emptying their wallets. The food is good but the service not so much. The first time I ate at this establishment I had to practically beg for a table and my waiter did not check on me for anything. So I thought I would give another chance as some people can have an off day. When I walked in everyone just stood and looked at me no Hi how are you, I felt as i had bothered them. I asked if I could have a table and was seated. The waiter asked me what I wanted and before I could even finish he walked away so I didn't order anything else. I was hoping to add a shake to my order but that didn't happen. This Diner has good food with a nice presentation but its wait staff acts like they're in mourning or something. I really like the food here, wide variety. The bacon is always cooked great. The Ranch Chicken sandwich is pretty good, the seafood dishes are great, and the food portions are generous and enough to fill me up and have extra food left, not like other restaurants that give you small portions. Terrace Diner fails at some very basic diner staples. -Really bad Iced Tea -Soggy fries -Gross matzoh balls soup. -Grilled cheese is average. -Wraps are poorly made -Salads are below average These are what I come to a diner for and they have consistently failed me here. Update: Actually probably won't be going back here. The food is good but my daughter got an inedible burger and asked for something else instead. Unlike every other restaurant universally, they didn't remove the uneaten food and charged us for the replacement. It's not the first time the staff has been churlish, but the waiter interrogated my daughter and made her cry at the table. And still didn't replace it. In other places I haven't had to send things back much, but usually it's not such an adversarial experience. It kind of makes me wonder what answer was worth making a kid cry for, especially without an adjustment. What answer could a grade schooler have given to satisfy an adult server? It was just a total awful experience, enough to not go back ever again and before we went once a week. Time to find a new diner :( read more

This is my go to burger place. They are always usually good. This joints burgers to me are the best around. Always juicy and made to order. There seeded roles are fantastic. The cheese is perfectly melted on the bread and the Bacon is crispy and fresh just the right amount of Grease to bread saturation. Sadly when I went this past time the burger tasted a little ripe . This is the closest diner to my home and it used to be good, but the past 2 years, it's really gone downhill. Yes the decor is nice and the servers are friendly but the portions have been reduced to a laughable size and the quality of the food has really decreased. They are serving food you can buy at Costco at premium prices. I'm going to give you a recap of the last few times I ordered from there. I decided this place really isn't worth it anymore and now drive out of my way to a diner on Deer Park Avenue that does make some decent food. I ordered french fries with mozzerella and gravy, a typical Long Island late night munchies dish and the gravy was canned gravy, you can tell. Years ago it used to be home made. Seriously? Canned gravy? I can make that at home. If you order a chicken francaise, it will come with red peppers. Really? This is one of my favorite meals and in my entire 39 years I have never had this dish served with red pepper except here. Gross. Rib Eye steak is loaded with oregano - nasty. BBQ rib special was clearly microwaved and tasted like rubber. I do enjoy their french dip, but it is no longer served on a hero, but on a bun. Price is still the same though for a much smaller portion. If you complain about the food, you will get an oh really? Everyone else likes it. I've been coming here for over 15 years I expect more than that. The owner has run for the West Babylon school board of education. He should really focus more on his restaurant, bring back quality food and normal portions, keeping long time customers happy instead of politics. read more

So we were on our way from S. Jersey to New York to get Camaro car carpet (thanks for screwing over my beau moron!) and my baby parrotlet (thanks for real Frank - LOOOVE him!) and stumbled upon Terrace by accident. And WHAT a great accident! The onion rings were big but not too hard like they usually are that size, a good plain salad and tremendously delish sauce for the pasta. It was absolutely yummy and I couldn't stop saying so w/ almost every darn bite! The eggplant parm was pretty good but thin and a bit too oily. Our waitress was super nice and checked on us about 3 times. The Terrace was very clean and I liked the decor as well. I doubt we'll be in the area again but so would go!!!!!! read more

We live very local and dine at this establishment quite often. I've had quite a few of their dishes on their lunch/dinner menu and I was not ONCE like "WOW, this is delicious." It's usually a hit or miss. When we are in the mood for breakfast and don't feel like driving more than 3 miles for it, we come here. Absolutely fantastic service. Great wait staff and excellent food. Loved the coffee. I've been there several times, and always loved the service. I love the theme, which is 1950's style diner. I come here with my husband a lot, sometimes his brother comes with us or his mom. Every time I've come here I've been pretty pleased with the food they served. The wait for your food is never long, and usually you can get a table pretty quickly too. I've had cheese quesidillas, french fries, french onion soup, onion rings, paninis everything has been great. Last night I got the spinach pie platter with a greek salad. The salad was fresh, the vinagrette dressing was good. The spinach pie and yogurt sauce were good but slightly soggy I still liked it though. The rice served with it was a great rice consistency soft and yummy. The portions here are pretty big I couldn't eat the whole platter I wrapped half of it up to take home. The coffee is your average diner coffee which I tend to like even though I'm self proclaimed coffee snob. The only thing that alarmed me was that my husband said the bread was stale when they brought us the bread basket. We did walk in at 9 PM, so it could be possible the bread was made in the morning so it wasn't the freshest. I've been trying to watch my food intake so I wouldn't eat the bread when he said it was stale, I am on a kick where I refuse to waste caloric intake on something terrible if I don't like it I'm not eating it. read more

I'm not quite sure how to review this place. My wife and I came here recently for dinner, and while it was an overall good experience, I can't help the lingering feeling that this place only deserves three stars. You know what? My wife summed it up in 4 words: Pickle Relish in Gravy. I ordered meatloaf as my dinner, which is usually a pretty good diner staple. It was good, but VERY strange. The gravy had pickle relish in it! Very odd. Was it good? I think so, but im not sure! It's just not at all what i was expecting. My wife's dinner was a hot open turkey, which by all accounts was delicious. So no problems there, and the soups were good as well though nothing mindblowing. The vibe of the place is awesome too, it really feels like one of those old boxcar diners plopped into the middle of long island. The waitress was the classic older blonde lady with tons of makeup, who was extremely friendly. And the place seemed to be filled up with regulars who all knew each other. There was a lot of inter-table communication going on, which is kind of a rare thing to see these days. Really nice. So I don't know. On one hand the food ranges from standard diner fare to odd things like pickle relish in gravy. But the vibe of the place is great, and it seems like a nice place to meet up with friends. I have a feeling this is a great breakfast diner. Sooo. For now? Three stars, but I think I'll have to try it again soon. read more

The best diner in Suffolk County by far. My personal favorite is the Vegetarian Panini and Greek Salad. The greek salad dressing is AMAZING! Have been coming here for years and love it every time.
