i bought a small greek salad, it had two cucumber slices, two onion slices, two slices of tomatoe, and 5 olives the rest was all lettuce, the gyros were the sane, no vegetables in it, just meat, and is very salty, the chicken in the soulvaki sandwich is over cooked, and the chunks are too large to eat, with no vegetables in it. read more

The BEST Greek food in the area. Been going here for a very long time. They're recently under new ownership but they kept a lot of menu items the same while still enhancing other things and creating new items. The young men that seem to own the place are very kind and efficient at what they do. Dishes I recommend: chicken islander, potato dill soup, lemon potatoes, spanakopita, chicken souvlaki. We've been looking for a quality Greek restaurant in our area. There are so many disappointing options (which I won't mention by name). We had been to Mediterranean Express a long time ago under previous ownership and weren't impressed. Saw that they had changed hands a while ago and decided to give them a try, again. So glad that we did. We ordered the falafel appetizer, the gyro platter, a Greek salad with gyro meat and a galaktebouroko dessert. The food quality was impressive... everything looked and tasted homemade, the portions were huge (there were lots of leftovers) and the taste was outstanding. Most of the packaging is biodegradable (much appreciated). The counter staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. If there was one suggestion it would be to pack the French Fries in the platter separately as they were soggy when I got them home. Next time I'll ask them to do that for me. The price for the quality and quantity of food we received was excellent. Nice to know we have a quality Greek restaurant that we can frequent in our neighborhood. I'm new to the area so I don't know what Med Express used to taste like, but I've had it several times (my office likes to order from here) in the past month and I've enjoyed it every time! I've had the grilled chicken greek salad, the gyro salad (both come with SO much meat which is juicy!!), their pita is soft and delicious, my tzatziki sauce has always come thick and creamy. They are pretty busy at lunch so sometimes you'll just get a busy line, but I keep trying and am always able to get through. Staff is super friendly too. Prices are wonderfully reasonable too for the amount of food that you get. Definitely will be ordering again! read more

Always looking for a good lamb gyro. I've been here in the past but boy has it changed for the better! The whole place was remodeled. Look modern and bright - very clean. I got the lamb gyro. Price was great, stuffed with protein with a few fries for an extra crunch. Gyro was great. They gave me extra sauce on the side which I really appreciated. Great gyro! Go anywhere else! They have changed all the recipes. We assume they changed owners because my entire company who has been obsessed with this place for years has noticed the sudden decline in quality and taste. Staff has been saying that nothing changed but the prices, but it is a complete lie. Taziki sauce is watery and horrible compared to the previous. Spinach melt is flavorless, made from frozen spinach and now has a ton of oregano sprinkled on top. Greek dressing I used to save for a friend and now it just gets thrown out. Chicken is drier and the salad has completely changed. I've been going here for 6 years and was always so consistent until maybe 3 months ago. Now the staff is different and they are insisting nothing changed. Extremely disappointing. read more

Greek salad , falafel with rice , spanakopita, eggplant and gyro plate. I never had falafel before and although a bit dry it was surprisingly tasty , served with tahini sauce and hummus... enjoyed that along with spanakopita , a kind of spinach pie, it was nicely seasoned with a flaky filo pastry. read more

Being new to the neighborhood, we were starving and of course resort to yelp. We ordered the falafel Greek salad and a large serving of gyro. The meat was so tender, juicy and flavorful. The portion was adequate for the amount of protein I needed (two cup container serving). The salad was odd. I was expecting falafel balls but it was a giant piece of falafel. Sort of like the size of a burger. I'm not sure how I felt about this since I wanted balls. Why? It's crispy all around and moist in the middle vs a gigantic one is only crispy on top and bottom and edges so the middle tends to be more of a mush. Despite that little hiccup, the falafel was crispy and the flavor was spot on. They were not cheap on the toppings and it was pretty much stuffed to the brim. I was very satisfied with my meal and ordered from them again when friends came to visit. They also loved it. read more

Ordered food here last night lamb gyro it was horrible meat had ground bone or something could not chew the meat we also ordered rice pudding it hardly had rice the pudding was so loose it was tasteless horrible pudding . I bought a Greek chicken Gyro tonight and a Greek souvlaki, the souvlaki was OK. It was missing something but the Gyro was absolutely disappointing. It had about 4 half slices of thin tomato and about 10 thin slices of red onion. It was overloaded with chicken, which is nothing like a Gyro that I've ever had before from an authentic Greek restaurant. I will continue to go to Greek Krave on Bayshore Avenue in North Babylon because there gyros are definitely the best and authentic. read more
