    Cold meze

This little Turkish restaurant was packed at 5:30 on a Saturday. The staff were pleasant. We shared the cold meze to start. It was excellent. I had a combination platter that was really good. Friends who had been here before said that the food was better than they remembered. Prices were moderate. A better than expected Turkish meal in eastern Long Island. One of the best restaurants in the area.

Lovely waterfront place in the hamptons, very authentic Turkish food. I visited with my sister, who says it's one of her favorite places in the area - now I know why. The chicken and lamb were both stellar.

Very welcoming restaurant with a sweet family running it. The place is cute inside and really charming for outdoor dinners. Food was great! Portions were good and price as well. I'd definitely come back, no wonder it was packed.

7/19/25 Turkuaz Grill is always fantastic, the people food and service. It is not fancy by any means, but it will satisfy you in many ways!

My parents and I have been coming to Turkuaz Grill for several years now. I've had quite a lot of Turkish food, and let me tell you - Turkuaz Grill is the absolute gold standard! The platters are just remarkable. Every item on the plate is just so wonderfully seasoned. Cutting a piece of meat and forking it together with the bulgar, rice, salad, and beet salad makes for a truly heavenly bite. The restaurant itself is small, but so welcoming. The owners are lovely!

Came back last night and had a nice dinner on the river. Ordered the baba ganush, hummus and fried liver apps, and had the kids cheeseburger for dinner. Light work, but super tasty!

What a quaint and lovely place...right by the riverwalk. The service was stellar along with recommended beer and wine. We hope to be able to find that Turkish beer somewhere!! We enjoyed the spinach pie as an appetizer. No additional seasoning was needed for anything! I had the chicken kebab which came with the beet salad that I wanted to have earlier but was happy to find out it was part of my dish! It also was served with another side salad, and rice. My partner had the Donner wrap. He said it was exceptional! The meat was so tender and tasty. We really enjoyed our dinner and time there.

Mid spot, Mediterranean salad was a 3/10 top being generous. Staff was ok nice I guess but wasn't attentive , I was dying of dehydration and never got water refill. Tables were also sticky inside

Today was our first time at Tukuaz Grill. I was here many years ago but after seeing it on News 12 East End, that sparked my interest. We ordered the humus and the babaganoush appetizers. I have no pictures but I will say we devoured them quickly! They were both tasty and excellent. We just needed to ask for more pita. For lunch we had the lamb kebab, Doner platter and the Falafel. Here's my take on the food. The portions are all very nice and came out hot. My wife enjoyed her Falafel and m my daughter in law enjoyed her Doner platter. My Kebab was 8 pieces of lamb but I thought that the seasoning was kind of bland. I was expecting that string lamb flavor like when you are biting into a nice Lamb Gyro at the diner! Again, it wasn't bad, I just didn't get that "wow" of flavor that I was expecting from the Lamb. I think the meat was missing a little char to it as well. I also tasted the meat from the Doner platter and felt the same about the seasoning. My daughter in law said it was delicious so maybe it's just me..... who knows, Covid again? I hood not LOL! I will go back but then I will go for the Lamb Gyro.

The ambiance, right on the river was beautiful. While it is more of a fast food Turkish restaurant, the meat is delicious and seasoned perfectly. I would have loved a pickled veggie for more depth of flavor, instead of everything being raw. Also when I asked for Turkish hot sauce... guess what I got. Seriously guys, check the pic. We tried a delicious bottle of Turkish wine and ended with Turkish coffee and birdnest. I can see why this restaurant has a good following.

The two times I've been in, they've brought out samples of thier menu items to try. I've ordered various things on the menu: hummus, lebneh, falafel wraps, falafel platters, baked kibbe platters, the green bean side, etc. All have been amongst the best Lebanese food I've tried. I want to expand and try more things, like the chicken and beef kafta. If you have questions just ask. Certain platters come with different items. Some rice, some salad, etc. Thier pita is fresh and delicious, and comes in different sizes. They have a decent sized dining area for dine-in, and the take-out area is right as you walk in the side door. Here you will also find a grocery area with Lebanese essentials. The selection is sizable, and offers items you won't find in a regular grocery store. I stocked up on spices, and coffee. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. I will return every opportunity I get.

We got the mixed cold appetizers which tasted really good with their bread. The mixed grill was very good, their lamb is one of the best we've had. I hope they consider adding iskender to their menu in the future. Unfortunately we didn't experience the best service when we were there. They didn't give us menus so we looked it up on our phones, and we had to flag the staff down to take our order after almost 15min. We asked for water refills and yogurt sauce but received neither and no one came to check on us. We didn't want to wait longer so we opted to skip dessert.

Let me talk about the kebab -- the quality of this place has significantly declined over time. When…read morethey first opened, they were truly making authentic Adana kebab. The chef was from Adana, and he used to prepare lamb meat properly with a zırh (traditional curved knife). But those days seem to be long gone. During my last two visits, there's been a noticeable drop in flavor. It seems they've switched from hand-minced meat to machine-ground meat, and they've started mixing in beef as well. The kebab, which used to crumble with rich texture, has now turned into something more like a cheap supermarket meatball. Despite charging above-average prices, this decline in quality is unacceptable. The kebab was served with both rice and bulgur pilaf, but both had clearly been sitting for a while. The rice, in particular, seemed like it had been cooked 2-3 days earlier -- it was far from fresh. It might still appeal to Turkish customers who have never actually had proper kebab even in Turkey, but to anyone who knows what Adana kebab is supposed to be, this is a joke. I assume most of their customers are foreigners who don't really know what to expect from a real Adana kebab -- so they've taken the easy and cheap route. To make things worse, during my last visit, one side of the kebab was burnt. And the chef, like a typical trickster, had placed the burnt side facing down on the plate, trying to hide it. That's just shameful. And finally -- here's a photo of the cooked tomato they served. Completely white and unripe. Really, chef? You didn't notice when cutting it? You didn't see it while cooking? Or even when plating it? If good tomatoes are hard to find (which they're not -- they're just coming into season), then don't serve them at all. If someone asks, you simply say "It's not the season, and we couldn't find good-quality tomatoes, so we chose not to serve any." But you don't serve pickling-grade, pale white tomatoes on a plate. Also, the place is now covered with signs saying it's alcohol-free -- seriously, there are nearly ten of them across the entrance, exit, and walls. When I asked the waiter about it, he explained that the restaurant is now a "halal establishment." But here's the strange part: since the place opened, I've been there around seven times, and every time I brought my own alcohol, the staff gladly served it to me at the table. Surely they didn't just now discover that alcohol isn't considered *halal* in their religion.
