We went in on a Sunday Evening in August drawn in by a busker and ordered Shrimp Fra Diabolo, which arrived in 6 minutes in soggy pasta without the key ingredients of tomato sauce and 6 small shrimps - tasteless. Drinks were a margarita and a draft beer, arriving in a two-sip portion for the margarita and 7 ounces for the beer. Complained, ate undistinguised food and departed. Complained to chef and challenged him to tell me the recipe for the pasta and he rudely ignored me as he was taking out a big tray of raw food into his auto. This apparently is not a place frequented by locals, thus the busker. $100 for nothing. I noticed their current menu replaced this item with Spicy Shrimp Scampi Garlic, olive oil, red pepper flakes for $37.44. Well maybe that is what I was served with $.50 of pasta and $2.00 of shrimp. ZErdem is a very good addition to the landscape of Greek restaurants in the North Fork. Everything was cooked perfectly. We enjoyed the hummus and fried zucchini eggplant starters followed by delicious Grilled lamb chops. We will definitely return next summer when the season is prime. Zerdem is a great addition to Greenport dining and we're glad to have them. The service is always friendly and the food is great. However, as someone who has spent a lot of time in Turkey, I wish they would lean in more fully to the Turkish identity. The ambiance is very much like that of Istanbul's best, most upscale kebab restaurants. Zerdem is a wooden "Konak" or mansion with lots of dining in the garden, just like those spots. All it would take is a few tweaks to the menu such as adding warm hummus w or without pastirma (with if they can source reliably), mutebel (a warm garlic yogurt and eggplant dip), and a few other mezes or salads. Imagine if they added lahmacun and pide! Americans LOVE these restaurants in my experience and Zerdem would be full to bursting if they made this a full upscale Turkish restaurant. As it stands they have that ambiance and service with the menu of a nice Greek restaurant in the city with a tiny dab of Turkishness. They should lean in further, but even if they don't, I'll still be a regular customer, just dreaming of what could be every time I go! read more

Yesterday was our first time eating here. It has a beautiful outdoor dining area. We sat outside by the entrance of the building. While taking our order the most unexpected thing happened. Never in my life would I think this would happen at a restaurant like this. A COCKROACH crawled across our table and sat on the table in between my husband and I. I looked at my husband in disbelief and asked, "is that a cockroach" and he said yes. We looked at the server and she saw it but continued on with asking for our orders. Before she left we asked if she could get something to get this cockroach off the table and she said yes. About 3 minutes later a busboy came out and looked for it but at this point it ran across our table and went somewhere under the table where we could not find it. The busboy left the napkins with us and said "it's is part of nature, there is nothing that I can do". We wanted to leave but not everyone in our party wanted to leave. To make matters worse the service was extremely slow. No one checked on us to see how our food was. We had to flag a different server down to get our server so that we could order a drink. We waited about 30 minutes for this drink before we flagged down another server and asked where the drink was. They said that there was probably an error with printing the ticket. Our server finally brought out the drink and said the bartender didn't see the ticket. Finally we were delivered the dessert menu. We didn't want dessert because we just wanted to get out of here. After the dessert menu was delivered no one came by to take our order or ask if we were ready for the check. One of the members at our table got up and went inside to look for someone so we could pay and leave only to find our server sitting at the bar on her phone and talking with the bartender. Absolutely horrible service, experience and we will never recommend this place to anyone. The only reason for the 1 star is that it is required and that the food was actually really good. read more

This restaurant is an outstanding gem and is a mus! The food is excellent and the service could not be better. I had short ribs and my husband had filet mignon. Both came with potato puree and mixed vegetable. The sauces were amazing. We shared their flourless chocolate cake for dessert along with espresso. The cake may be the best of its kind we've ever had. Take all this and put it in a beautiful setting and you get an incredible dining experience. We will definitely revisit Zerdem! read more

I first heard about this restaurant on its opening day-mainly because the owner served alcohol without a license, and I honestly didn't think it would last in Greenport. But I was wrong. The place quickly gained great reviews for its food. The restaurant is spacious, and the staff are all fantastic-friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, and the service matched it. They also offer a great selection of wines at reasonable prices for the area. The only downside I noticed was the white chair covers-they looked a bit dirty and didn't quite fit the vibe. I think a more casual, fun design would suit the space better. Greenport isn't really a fancy dinner destination; it's more about relaxed atmosphere and good food, and this place definitely delivers on that. read more

My friend and I enjoyed a delightful dinner on a quiet, hot summer night in Greenport. We sat outside with refreshing drinks. Our server, Gabe, and the owner, Zach, were welcoming and friendly. The food at Zerdem is very good. The service is very good too. So why not five stars? The ambiance is very bad. The restaurant tables and chairs are covered in some kind of cheap creepy white cloth. The walls have pictures and paintings that could be from Walmart. The tableware seems to be from Target. The piped in music seems to be from a radio... or something like that. The patio is much nicer except for the July humidity and heat and mosquitos. It is my understanding that Zerdem is owned by some trendy hot shot celebrity driven restauranteur from the Southampton area. I assume he is banking on the concept that the North Fork will soon become just like the South Fork. I just can't imagine Martha Stewart and her cronies eating at this place... or whomever else summers on the South Fork of Long Island. Perhaps Zerdem wasn't created for them. Perhaps Zerdem was created for the Target and Walmart crowd of Greenport. The day trippers! Nah! There are Teslas and Rivians and Maseratis on the North Fork too. There are big houses with oversized hedges and salt water pools on the North Fork too! Or maybe I am being too much of a snitty snob... but seriously, get an interior designer on board pronto! Hire a restaurant consultant to redo the tableware. Get someone to direct a music program. Keep the chef though!!! read more

We absolutely fell in love with this place. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and from the second you walk in, it truly feels like home. On our first night, we sat inside and were blown away by the food. Everything was incredibly fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. We came back the very next night, sat outside, and ordered even more from the menu because we couldn't stop thinking about it. Both nights were equally amazing.
