This was just a case of very poor inventory management. I was also quite put off by the restaurant putting a 20% automatic gratuity on the bill. It's not the amount that upsets me, since we always add at least a 20% tip to every meal we eat out. What bothered me was that this charge was never announced by the waiter, and it appeared only in tiny print on the small and difficult to read check. Also, there was a line on the check for adding a "tip". Mind you, it did not say "additional tip", which would alert someone that the tip was already inluded. Since many people do not check their bills carefully, I'm sure that many people have inadertently double-tipped. This hard to detect tipping scheme came off to me as a way of getting some people to tip twice. This is just unethical. The food was ok, and the serice so-so. Overall, this was not a good dining experianece. We will not be going back.
