This is not how a restaurant should be run We went for 6:30 reservation, expecting to take advantage of a very appealing price fix menu. It was a Monday night- June 8th). We were the only two guests in the restaurant. After we were seated, we had to ask for the price fix menu. The waiter then informed us that it was no longer available. When we told him that we had just made the reservation a couple of days ago, and the menu is still on the website, he walked away and got the manager. The manager came over, apologized for the misunderstanding, and then said there was nothing he could do. The website had not been updated and the price fix menu was not available after Memorial Day. It's been two weeks since Memorial Day. Don't you think that they could've updated the website by now? The manager would not honor the price fix menu. Did he offer us any accommodation whatsoever? NO! We got up and left. We were looking forward to trying this restaurant. The price fix menu seemed like a good way to do it. However, given this experience, we will not return.

I saw that Ja Rule was guest bartending and thought it'd be fun to have dinner here and see him. I emailed the contact listed on the event details to get on the list -- they said to make a regular reservation and that I would be able to see him after. We arrive at Calissa, valet the car and get right in to the restaurant which is really beautifully decorated and upscale. Folks are impeccably dressed here. We received the menu and took a look, then asked about when Ja Rule was going to arrive. Our server told us that event was separate from the restaurant which I thought was weird. I had said I emailed someone about it and they said we could go see him after if we made a reservation, he said "that sounds right" and then gave us more time to decide on food. When he came back I asked if there were any specials - he let me know that they had a black sea bass whole fish for $55. I went with that for my main, we also had the Greek salad and Zucchini chips. All the food was delicious. The Greek salad was made the traditional way with fresh feta, the zucchini chips were crispy and light and my black sea bass was tender and flavorful. When the bill came, I noticed that my fish was actually $110. We asked the server who told us the price was per pound. That per pound part was omitted from when he told us the specials...but what can you do. We paid the bill and went over to see Ja Rule which was exciting until security told us this was a private event. I explained that I'd emailed the event contact who instructed me to make a reservation in order to see him bartend. He told me that I would have to go to the outside bar as this portion was a private event. We got a few photos and left -- halfway into our 40 minute drive home we noticed that our house keys were missing off our car key chain. We tried calling the restaurant several times on our way back, no answer. The valet was not sorry at all, claimed it had fallen off which wasn't possible if you saw this keychain. Overall, a lot of hoops to jump through.

Calissa has decent food, but nothing extraordinary. The ambiance felt a bit awkward, and the service could definitely be more attentive. We went during an early hour, so the place was pretty quiet. Overall, the food is fine and worth another try, but I'm hoping for a better experience next time.

I came here with a bachelorette party on a Sunday evening and I guess it didn't click to me that people probably had to work Monday so it was pretty dead lol. I was expecting a party vibe but it was empty. I liked the aesthetics of this restaurant. I really enjoyed everything we ordered, especially the calamari which had a nice kick to it! All of the food was really good and fresh! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the Hamptons but maybe on a Friday or Saturday!

This is a beautiful restaurant with a super aesthetic patio that makes you feel like you've taken a getaway to a Mediterranean country. Bar is moody and offers many different cocktails as well as an extensive wine list. Came here with a large group of girls for a bachelorette and our table was well cared for all evening long -- our glasses were never left empty and our courses were paced without feeling rushed allowing us to enjoy the ambience and the company. I highly recommend ordering the dip sampler as an appetizer and ordering either the salmon or the lamb chops. One thing I would note here is that while all the dishes tasted really good it was all a little bit bland for my taste -- however I do imagine it's due to the ingredients being really fresh and the chefs not wanting to overseason the dishes. Also would note it is a dressier spot so be sure to wear your best outfits when dining out here in the evenings.

Food came so late they turned the lights off on us. Our main dishes came 2 HOURS after we ordered. The owner refused to turn the lights on so we could eat. The food was pretty good but not worth waiting 2 hours for. The catch of the day was fillet which was nice. The pork chop was like butter. The ambiance was shit. You couldn't see a thing because they turned off all the lights. Thank God for cell phone lights. The bathrooms were disgusting. There were long waits and piss everywhere. I don't think I will be back for a while.

Very fun Greek restaurant for a DJ dinner that starts at 1030pm! Great place to grab dinner and stay for the music and dancing. Had an outdoor DJ and indoor DJ next to the bar. On the night we went, there was a live saxophone player which I loved! Food was very good but expensive and the service was quite slow. Fresh tomatoes in the Greek salad, loved the calamari, and the branzino was light simple and delicious! Not sure if the branzino is worth the $140 market price but very happy we got to try it! also tried the kataifi, a greek/middle eastern dessert that was essentially like crispy vermicelli with nuts! also very yummy. they had ran out of the salmon entree which caused our orders to be delayed by 2 hours - the restaurant comped our entrees and branzino which was extremely generous!!

Excellent meal and service! The food portions for the prices were a little small in our opinion. That being said the food was delicious, especially the zucchini chips and fish which was fresh. The vibes are also so beach and cool, love the design.

Pasta was super delicious! Split the lobster pasta with a few friends (huge portion) and still didn't finish it all, but super delicious! Also ambience is nice here and turns into a party later at night

Service was fast our food was brought out in a timely manner. Our appetizers came out quickly. The zucchini chips and grilled octopus were my favorites. For dinner we got grilled branzino and a side was definitely a great dish to share between 4-5people along with our 3 appetizers. Beautiful ambiance inside and outdoors. I'm told outdoor seating has live music on certain nights.

We made reservations for 9 p.m., and the place was still popping. We walked in, and it's fairly dark. I observed the different areas in which people can reserve areas for events. There's a large bar area that people congregate around. I didn't see any kids, but apparently, there was a kids' menu, and it was late. The only gripe that I have with this place are the bathrooms. I have no idea why there is such a long line, but maybe there should be an extra one for the back. I have to say that the service was pretty good. For the food, we ordered a lot. The saganaki cheese, which has honey and sesame on it, was so delicious. The watermelon salad was very refreshing. Can't go wrong with crispy calamari. The grilled Octopus was good, too. For the entire table, we ordered the whole market fish, and it was big enough for the group. I was satisfied.

It was a little difficult to find since there are no street signs in the area and the restaurant is kind of hidden behind some large bushes. We finally found it. The parking lot is very small and as a result, they have instituted valet parking. They have done away with paper tickets and you have to use a QR code. When you are getting ready to leave, you can contact the valets and they can have your car ready for you when you come out. We entered the restaurant after squaring away the car and it was early so there was no problem being seated. It is a very pleasant looking space, on the water with seating indoors and outside. It is a great place to watch the sun set over the water. David B..was our server and after setting us up with some water, he took out drink orders [a Corona beer and a Negroni] We began looking over the menu. It is not a vast menu and each food group [meat, seafood, etc.] has limited choices. The appetizer listings have several more options. Wine list is impressive and is by the glass or bottle along with a list of specialty cocktails. . Our drinks arrived and we gave David B. our food order. My friend to the spicy shrimp rigatoni and I ordered the salmon. Our food arrived shortly after. Both meals were delicious. The spicy rigatoni can be made according to your heat level. The salmon was sitting on a bed of 3 boiled potatoes, olives, capers, cherry tomatoes and mashed potatoes with a sprig of rosemary and was cooked to perfection. It flaked away very nicely. My friend got another Corona and I continued to drink the water provided after my Negroni. In terms of caveats, it is pricey [food and drinks] and although we were there for happy hour, there is no per se happy hour menu that we were made away of. It is a large place, clean with more than adequate staffing. I did not use the restroom while I was there so I cannot comment on how well it was maintained. David our waiter, was attentive and accommodating, checking on us periodically to see if we needed anything else. Our table wobbled a bit and they sent someone over the take care of it for us. I had chosen this place to have dinner with friends from out of town that were vacationing in Sag Harbor. Reviews looked pretty good and fit what they were looking for: good food, water view, not too far from where they were staying. When we drove up, I was seriously questioning myself. The outside looks like a little dated and small. But as other reviewers have said, the interior is very nice and spacious! We were lucky to get a window table although it was foggy so we could not see a lot of the water; just the parking lot and dock. But still better than nothing. I forgot to take pictures of the apps but we shared multiple orders of the burata, fritto misto and salmon tartare (yes, you read that right). All were good and I did enjoy the tartare. For entrees, I got the fish and chips, Cathie got the bouillabaisse, friends got the chicken Milanese special (what a deal!!), Scottish salmon with ramen, burgers, and another bouillabaisse. We all loved our choices but highlights were definitely the chicken Milanese dinner special (because even with slight up charges for certain items, it is an amazing deal!!); and the bouillabaisse. As some other reviewers have said, this is a MUST ORDER! The broth is not too tomato forward but instead is very flavorful with other spices, not just saffron, and the same food is generous and prepared so well! I will come back just for this! My fish and chips were good, even the Cole slaw although I prefer meatier French fries (although these were still good, nice and crispy). Desserts were also very good and service was good after a couple of bumpy starts.

A long, dark bar sits by the entryway with cheerful bartenders awaiting. The Bouillasse is a favorite, with clams, muscles, fish, shrimp and lobster in an an unbelievable pinkish-red stew flavored with lovely saffron. I was slightly disappointed the lobster didn't budge easily out of the shell. Nevertheless, the Bouillasse still remains a favorite. Without a doubt, I'll be back for more.

We got a huge order-- three piece of fried chicken with wing, thigh and drumstick, as well as the chicken sandwich and fries, mac and cheese side, and an order of hot wings, with an apple pie for dessert. Everything was brought out hot to the car, and they put it right into our trunk, so it was 100% pandemic proof. The fries are really delicious-- nice and thick cut, with good seasoning, the chicken sandwich is TERRIFIC-- nice soft roll, deliciously seasoned and fried chicken, the crisp and slightly sweet bread and butter pickles a perfect complement, and it's not so big that you feel like exploding after (but also-- makes you definitely not want to share!), and of course the chicken itself was nicely done. I was super surprised by how strangely good the wings were, too-- I always like wings, so I was ready to be happy, but these were like... exceptional, and surprisingly big-- really, really MEATY wings. Plus even the carrots and celery and blue cheese that came with were above normal levels of yummy. The only ding to our experience was the apple pie-- it was kind of goopy in an off putting way, like they used that slime from a can of "apple pie filling", so that was sad. But I still gave full stars because I was honestly enthralled by everything else, as was my fiance, so I'd just say maybe skip dessert and enjoy what you should be there for anyway-- the killer chicken.

Topping Rose House, Bridgehampton: Culinary Highs and Service Lows…read moreRating: (Food: 9.5 | Service: 6) Topping Rose House remains a bit of a Bridgehampton enigma. As a spot we find ourselves returning to a couple of times a year, the kitchen continues to operate at a gold standard, even when the front-of-house seems to be stuck in a bit of a fog. The Food: A Seasonal Symphony If you are coming strictly for the palate, you will not be disappointed. The freshness of the ingredients is palpable: * Oysters: These were pristine--served icy cold and exceptionally fresh. The mignonette was the standout here; perfectly balanced and bright, it elevated the oysters rather than masking them. * Pea Soup: This was a revelation. It tasted as if the peas had been picked just yesterday; it was vibrant, "green," and utterly delightful. * Lobster Roll: While it was admittedly small in stature (especially for the price point), the execution was flawless. It was bright, crunchy, and avoided the heavy mayo-trap that many local spots fall into. The Service: A Comedy of Errors Unfortunately, the gap between the kitchen and the dining room was wide during this visit. While our waitress was personally lovely, the actual mechanics of the service were incredibly frustrated: * Timing Issues: We were offered bread at the start of the meal, yet it didn't grace the table until we were finished eating. * The Water Gap: Our sparkling water sat empty for far too long. Refills were offered, but like the bread, they arrived only after the meal had concluded. * Lack of Proactivity: There was no offer for drink refills throughout the courses. * Accountability: Most disappointing was the lack of acknowledgment. Mistakes happen, but a simple "I'm so sorry for the delay" goes a long way. Instead, the lapses were never addressed or accounted for. The Verdict: Topping Rose House serves some of the most phenomenal, fresh food in the Hamptons. However, when you're paying Bridgehampton prices, you expect the service to match the caliber of the kitchen. We'll likely be back because the pea soup and oysters are hard to quit, but we'll be crossing our fingers for a more attentive experience next time. mi

Refined Dining with Just a Few Misses at Dopo Argento, Southampton…read more Patrizia and I visited Dopo Argento in Southampton for a Sunday afternoon meal around 1 pm. The restaurant wasn't crowded, which made for a calm and enjoyable atmosphere. Starters: We ordered the sourdough bread service (not complimentary), which came with a hummus dip. The bread had a rustic, brick-oven style crust--crispy outside, soft inside--and paired nicely with our appetizer. We then split the Tuna Tartare, which was delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. That said, it was served on its own with no chips or crostini, so we ended up using the bread we had ordered. A small touch that would make a big difference. Mains: Patrizia had the Salmon Oreganata. The portion was generous and cooked very well, but it arrived solo on the plate without any sides. We both felt it would shine more with a vegetable or starch--something like spinach, asparagus, or potato. I chose the Paccheri Cacio e Pepe, which was excellent. The pasta was fresh, perfectly al dente, and the sauce had just the right balance of richness and peppery bite. Drinks & Service: We started with two cocktails, then shared a crisp bottle of Italian sparkling water with our meal. Service was warm, efficient, and attentive, adding to the experience. Dessert & Coffee: We finished with the Tiramisu, which was light, fluffy, and not overly sweet, alongside a cappuccino--a perfect close. Overall: Our total came to about $235 for two, and we left a generous tip for the excellent service. We chose to sit indoors since it was too humid outside, but both options are available. We're giving 4 stars because of minor blemishes--the salmon plated all alone, and the tuna tartare lacking an accompaniment. Still, the food was excellent, the vibe relaxed, and the service top-notch. Definitely worth a visit--check it out before the summer ends and see for yourself!.

I know we are in The Hampton's but the staff seemed very snobby…read more $11 for a glass of iced tea that was 75% ice and no refills. $17 for a tiny bowl of French fries. The rest of the meal was ok, nothing special and definitely not worth the cost. I live in Los Angeles and dine in Beverly Hills quite frequently and have never had an experience like this.
