Delicious food and the best vibe for dancing! Customer service could use improvement! This is my second time at Calissa's and we always have a blast! This time we did the Bottomless Wine Package. We have two hours of bottomless and picked out three apps, three entrees, and three sides. I loved the dip platter, lemon potatoes, and leek rice -- so tasty and flavorful! Our servers during the evening were so much fun! The DJ starts at 10pm and played the best music. We had a blast dancing the night away! My only complaint was that our meal included dessert and we never received it. We realized the next day and when we called the restaurant, we were rudely told that if we had just said something at the time, they would have served it to us. I emailed the contact listed on the event details to get on the list -- they said to make a regular reservation and that I would be able to see him after. We arrive at Calissa, valet the car and get right in to the restaurant which is really beautifully decorated and upscale. Folks are impeccably dressed here. We received the menu and took a look, then asked about when Ja Rule was going to arrive. Our server told us that event was separate from the restaurant which I thought was weird. I had said I emailed someone about it and they said we could go see him after if we made a reservation, he said "that sounds right" and then gave us more time to decide on food. When he came back I asked if there were any specials - he let me know that they had a black sea bass whole fish for $55. I went with that for my main, we also had the Greek salad and Zucchini chips. All the food was delicious. The Greek salad was made the traditional way with fresh feta, the zucchini chips were crispy and light and my black sea bass was tender and flavorful. When the bill came, I noticed that my fish was actually $110. We asked the server who told us the price was per pound. That per pound part was omitted from when he told us the specials...but what can you do. We paid the bill and went over to see Ja Rule which was exciting until security told us this was a private event. I explained that I'd emailed the event contact who instructed me to make a reservation in order to see him bartend. He told me that I would have to go to the outside bar as this portion was a private event. We got a few photos and left -- halfway into our 40 minute drive home we noticed that our house keys were missing off our car key chain. We tried calling the restaurant several times on our way back, no answer. The valet was not sorry at all, claimed it had fallen off which wasn't possible if you saw this keychain. This is a beautiful restaurant with a super aesthetic patio that makes you feel like you've taken a getaway to a Mediterranean country. Bar is moody and offers many different cocktails as well as an extensive wine list. Came here with a large group of girls for a bachelorette and our table was well cared for all evening long -- our glasses were never left empty and our courses were paced without feeling rushed allowing us to enjoy the ambience and the company. I highly recommend ordering the dip sampler as an appetizer and ordering either the salmon or the lamb chops. One thing I would note here is that while all the dishes tasted really good it was all a little bit bland for my taste -- however I do imagine it's due to the ingredients being really fresh and the chefs not wanting to overseason the dishes. Food came so late they turned the lights off on us. Our main dishes came 2 HOURS after we ordered. The owner refused to turn the lights on so we could eat. The food was pretty good but not worth waiting 2 hours for. The catch of the day was fillet which was nice. The pork chop was like butter. The ambiance was shit. Very fun Greek restaurant for a DJ dinner that starts at 1030pm! Great place to grab dinner and stay for the music and dancing. Had an outdoor DJ and indoor DJ next to the bar. On the night we went, there was a live saxophone player which I loved! Food was very good but expensive and the service was quite slow. Fresh tomatoes in the Greek salad, loved the calamari, and the branzino was light simple and delicious! Not sure if the branzino is worth the $140 market price but very happy we got to try it! also tried the kataifi, a greek/middle eastern dessert that was essentially like crispy vermicelli with nuts! also very yummy. they had ran out of the salmon entree which caused our orders to be delayed by 2 hours - the restaurant comped our entrees and branzino which was extremely generous!! read more

Very warm and cozy but the bartender made a face when we asked about the price fixe menu (that is available all night/every night according to the website ) and they grudgingly gave it to us. We decided to just order off the regular menu and it was all just ok. And then they took the liberty of adding a TWENTY percent tip on to our bill (there were only two of us , and we typically tip 20%- but shouldn't it be a choice??) We made reservations for 9 p.m., and the place was still popping. We walked in, and it's fairly dark. I observed the different areas in which people can reserve areas for events. There's a large bar area that people congregate around. I didn't see any kids, but apparently, there was a kids' menu, and it was late. The only gripe that I have with this place are the bathrooms. I have no idea why there is such a long line, but maybe there should be an extra one for the back. I have to say that the service was pretty good. For the food, we ordered a lot. The saganaki cheese, which has honey and sesame on it, was so delicious. The watermelon salad was very refreshing. Can't go wrong with crispy calamari. The grilled Octopus was good, too. Extremely Disappointing Experience - Especially on a Birthday My daughter hosted her 24th birthday at Calissa with five friends, expecting a fun night at a high-end Hamptons restaurant. Instead, they spent nearly 50 minutes dealing with aggressive and inappropriate behavior from the staff. One guest, also 24, had her valid PA "Real ID" driver's license confiscated after the bouncer's scanner flagged it. She calmly explained her age and provided a valid Irish passport card (she's a dual citizen), yet the staff refused to return her license and threatened to call the police--to which the group responded, "please do!" My daughter called me, upset and trying to advocate for her friend, only to be met with dismissiveness. No one took responsibility. When asked to make it right, the manager comped a single, inexpensive half glass of champagne and said, "I'm not going to apologize, that's not the right word. Let's just call it an unfortunate incident." Honestly, that was almost as unacceptable as the incident itself. I'd suggest they read Will Guidara's Unreasonable Hospitality. The food may have been good--but no restaurant should treat guests this way, especially during a birthday celebration. read more

Came here with my husband to celebrate our 25th Anniversary on Saturday, Dec 14th, 2024. What a beautiful place! Loved the decor & so cozy! Food was very good as well. Service was fantastic & everyone was friendly! They do add on a 20% admin fee, nobody told us, but looking at the bill, I saw it and they also had a spot to add a gratuity. Of course I gave a generous tip because of the service & it being close to the holidays. Somebody may not notice that though. I don't think that admin fee goes to the server in full. This was my first time visiting, and the food was amazing. My friends and I ordered the Bronzino for two it was so fresh and flavorful. We also got the side order of lemon potatoes and they melted it in your mouth. The flavors were so incredible. We also got the Greek salad with fresh Feta cheese and Was extremely flavorful. After ordering around 15 appetizers to share, the owner came over and told us we couldn't stay for another round of drinks because we "only got appetizers." We were rushed out in under an hour, the manager never acknowledged us, and the overall attitude was dismissive and rude. For such a special occasion, we expected basic hospitality. I've dined at Calissa twice, and it has not disappointed. They have a pretty extensive menu of appetizers, kebobs, fish dishes, etc. At our table, we shared the Pikilia platter (all six dips with pita), leek rice and Greek fries, and I shared the branzino for two with a friend. The standout was the branzino which was so delicious - the fish was flaky and moist and had tons of flavor. We ended up having to share it with the rest of the table because everybody enjoyed it so much. The Pikilia platter was also very tasty and also provided a lot of variety with the various dips (some more popular than others); it was too much for us four adults to eat along with our main dishes. As for our side dishes, the Greek fries were disappointing; they were fries with Feta cheese, raisins and olives. Next time, we're going to order the lemon potatoes. Calissa has an extensive wine menu, and we were able to get assistance from the sommelier who found us a bottle of wine at the right price point. The outdoor dining setup - which was in place before Covid - is lovely and a definite treat for those wonderful summer nights. read more

This restaurant has a great vibe with nice indoor/outdoor seating but that's where it kind of ended. We had the watermelon salad, fluke crudo, fava and tzatziki dips along with the zucchini chips. The watermelon salad was fresh and simple. The zucchini chips were nice with the dip that came with. The fluke was fresh but over salted and sloppily plated. The dips were small portioned and the fava dip was very bland. I had a glass of lukewarm white wine for $26 that was filled to less than half the glass and possibly from a bottle that had been opened for quite some time. The worst was the service. Our waiter was miserable. Barely making eye contact, telling us we couldn't add on food and that we had to leave for the next table before we had even ordered. It was all strange and uncomfortable but I suppose it doesn't matter to him because 20% gratuity is automatically included in the bill. We skipped getting extra drinks and dessert as we didn't feel we wanted to spend another minute or another dollar there. Please do better. read more

We had fried Calamari(good), eggplant dip with its pita( fair) and lamb/ beef meatballs( poor) I think that the Hamptons crowd is less fussy during the summer cause anything beats throwing a party of thirty at your house and having to hear the same stories from the same people that you've invited over for the last thirty years! When we first arrived for dinner at Calissa on July 4th, we were met with valet parking. The ambiance at the restaurant was nice. In fact, everything was great until my food arrived at our table. I mentioned to our waitress before I ordered my food that I had an allergy to the spice, dill. The waitress wrote it down on her food order notepad. She assured me that the rice dish with leeks didn't have dill but she would check with the chef too. Well, she must not have communicated the allergy to the chef because the rice with leeks side dish DID HAVE DILL on it. Thankfully I recognized it right away before eating it. I understand that miscommunication happens, but this is a SERIOUS ALLERGY that should not have been taken lightly. The waitress apologized and said she would quickly replace it with another side dish. We chose spanakopita to replace the side dish, as she had recommended to us, as long as it was filled only with spinach & cheese and NO DILL. She was very confident to tell us that the spanakopita had NO DILL. I trusted her especially thinking she would not want to make the same mistake twice. Well, when the spanakopita arrived, my friend had divided it into even pieces for all of us to share. As I was examining it to make sure it was dill free, my friend screamed DON'T EAT IT to me, IT HAS DILL!! Now, this was ridiculous to me that they made the SAME MISTAKE TWICE!! If you have an allergy, DO NOT EAT HERE as THEY DO NOT TAKE ALLERGIES SERIOUSLY!! Also, the waitress recommended the sea bass special (priced around $120.00). She said it would be good to share with 2-3 people. For that price, I expected it to be pretty big fish. When it arrived, we all looked at each other and said that's it?? I easily could have eaten the entire fish and still would have been hungry. The food portions are EXTREMELY small. The waitress asked if we wanted anything else to eat and that she would throw in a free dessert due to the "2" allergy mistakes. I really expected for a manager to come to our table and take off my meal charge. However, no manager came to us so we declined on dessert and left. On the way out, I saw the manager and went up to him to tell him what happened. He didn't seem to really care too much about it nor did he care to try to convince me to give his restaurant another try with a restaurant gift card, voucher or something. The ambiance was chic and modern, and I believe a DJ plays house music later in the evening. The restaurant was pretty crowded, so we could tell it was the start of the Memorial Day rush. We order some really good appetizers - my favorite being the watermelon salad! It was tasty and refreshing! I need to add it to my fitness diet lol my friend and I had the lamb chops, and they were so flavorful. Our AirBNB host recommend the restaurant to us, and told us he knew the owner. Midway through our dinner, we met the owner and showed him a picture of our host. He gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne! It was awesome!
