Went to Crispy Taco Co. in Southampton on a rainy Saturday in the early evening. Despite the weather, the restaurant was pretty busy. It is a newer casual Mexican spot in Southampton town that offers a variety of tacos, along other menu items. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space has a fun, modern design with several seating options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a small bar in the back with a television and about five or six seats, counter seating in front of the open kitchen, and four or five tables along the left side, some with partial booth seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is also outdoor seating available when the weather is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came with a friend for an early, light dinner before seeing a movie. We only waited a few minutes before being seated near the entrance. Our server greeted us promptly and brought over menus. I ordered the Sombra Margarita ($18), made with mezcal, ginger, lime, and guava, while my friend chose the Classic Margarita ($16). The Sombra was very good, the smoky mezcal paired really well with the ginger and fruit flavors, making for a refreshing and balanced cocktail. Most of the tacos were $9 each. I ordered the Veggie Taco, which was generously filled, along with the Crispy Fish Taco. The fish had a satisfying crunch, although it was just slightly overcooked. Overall, it was a good spot for a quick, casual meal. I also noticed they were preparing quite a few takeout orders. They had a sign advertising happy hour every day from 3-6pm, $8 house margaritas, $7 select tacos, and discounted small plates. I dined here yesterday and it was an interesting experience. I asked the hostess if I could sit at a table, while there were 7+ empty tables available. To wish you responded that I could sit at the bar or countertop. Then I repeated myself and asked again if I could sit at a table, and she said yes, and brought me to a table. I just thought that that was strange. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would understand if it was really busy and they were saving the tables for larger parties. But it was very empty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My server came by and took my order, I ordered a lemonade, the drink came, the food came. And then I noticed that all the tables, but mine also had a glass of water with their drinks. So again, I thought that that was strange that everyone else was offered complementary water but me. I really enjoyed my meal. The tacos were crispy. I had the fish and shrimp tacos. Both were good though I enjoyed the fish taco more. We went for lunch on a Sunday. We received a flyer in the mail advertising Crispy taco's happy hour from 12-6 daily and decided to give it a shot. It is a small space and there is limited parking in front of the restaurant but more than adequate parking behind the restaurant. We entered and were seated immediately. There are also other locations in Montauk and Westhampton. For happy hour all the tacos [chicken, pork, shrimp and veggie,] are all $7. They also offer cheese quesadillas for the same price. Wine and beers [draft and bottles] are $6 and the margaritas are $8 and there are multiple varieties of margaritas you can get. After looking over the menu, my friend decided on two chicken tacos and I ordered the two shrimp tacos. Chips and pico di gallo arrived at the table with our drinks. [A Corona for my friend and a classic margarita for me.] The food was hot and delicious. She seemed approachable and I asked some questions about what she had ordered as I am not shy. It was quick and informative and when I went inside with a friend of mine I ordered the same meal she did. The food was delicious. I had ordered two tacos One cod One shrimp And the quesedillia. Everything was just as she said Delicious Two days later a friend told me I was on her posts, both on Instagram and Tik Tok. Apparently what I hadened realized was she was recording what she was eating and I had innocently just jumped in. Next thing I know her video had so many views and 1400 comments. I try to never leave bad reviews, but I find the service at Crispy Taco terrible! I ordered through Uber Eats, the restaurant forgot to put my main course in the bag, so I received chips and pico, and some sauces I did not order! So I call them, they admit to forgetting to put my food in the bag. I asked to deliver it. Apparently the entire staff does not have a way to get around!!!! So I get the entree refunded from Uber Eats, I basically paid for some chips and a tip, and I get no lunch!!!!!!! I work as well, I cannot always get out to eat, and I get no lunch now! If the restaurant makes the mistake, they should fix it! I went there a few times a week last summer, I told everyone I could to go there, not this summer! Customer service is very important! I've come to love the chicken tacos, and am straight up addicted to the Mangoritas served by the best bartender in the Hamptons (think his name might be Manuel?). This is just about Southampton's only wallet friendly spot, and they do a pretty amazing happy hour. I almost hate to post a good review about this place because I don't want the summer weekenders to know about it! Terrible service - we were the only ones there yet the service was terrible. Had to ask for water multiple times - the 10 person staff there just looked annoyed that we were bothering them by being there. The guac was too spicy and the server couldn't be bothered to get us a new order. The quesadilla was fine but the salad was simply lettuce and chicken. Given the plethora of options in SH, I'm def not coming back. The worst part was when I paid I did not receive my receipt - they told me I didn't have to sign and an hour later I saw on my credit card that they had charged me 20% in tips (something I would have never authorized given the service!) read more

Not very good because food has no flavor. Guacamole was just smashed avocado, no salt, lime juice, jalapeño or onion in it. Chips had no salt or flavor either. Chicken taco was ok but they charge $5 per side of sour cream which is crazy. Need to add some flavor to the food to get people to come because that's the best part of Mexican food! read more
