First time trying this location but it lives up to the Amagansett location excellence. My bf thinks this is the BEST LOBSTER ROLL on LI. I got a grilled cheese since there's not the most vegetarian friendly options. Fries are epic and the mozzarella sticks and fish tacos were excellent starters. Nostalgic and delicious.

Allie was so helpful and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere, service, and food were great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We'll be back.

I know that the Four Leaf Best of Long Island nominations for 2026 are now closed, but if they were still open, I would have nominated Lunch Lobster Roll for Best Bloody Mary. They earn top marks for serving brunch in a cocktail glass! The drink came beautifully garnished with shrimp cocktail, bacon, blue cheese-stuffed olives, and celery. I ordered mine "sub vodka for tequila" to make it a Bloody Maria, and it was absolutely perfect -- the right balance of liquor and horseradish spice, and deliciously thick, just the way I like it. I'll never order a Bloody Mary with vodka again -- tequila is the way to go! The olives added that umami punch I adore. I visited on 10/25/25 and sat at the bar. Kaylia K, my waitress and bartender, was warm, friendly, and welcoming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself was spotless and inviting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I also ordered the seafood nachos, which didn't cater to my tastes -- I'll pass on that next time. If you're in the Hamptons and love a well-crafted Bloody Mary, I highly recommend Lunch Lobster Roll.

Stopped here for lunch on a bus trip to Long Island. They had the best lobster roll lunch with French fries and Cole slaw. The lobster roll was made without being overly wet do you could really taste the lobster which was shredded so nicely it stayed in the bun. They also made a delicious non-alcoholic Pina colada! I would highly recommend this place for their quality of food as well as great service!

I am ashamed to admit this, but I finally got to have my first lobster roll of the season. I know we are in August, but at Lunch it's Lobster Roll season all year long. Coming out here for the day made me realize I should do it more, even in the fall because there are just as many farm stand here as there are on the North Fork. I spent the day out here in the Hamptons and before heading home, I stopped here to break up the ride a bit (one of my many stops). Everything there is amazing and has been every time I come. I still dream about the special they had where their lobster salad came in a local HUGE heirloom tomato. We came at a slower time, right before the dinner rush, and our server was patient. The food came out quick. Even our crab dip, which she prefaced with it would take a while, came out quickly as well. This is a must if you're coming out east. It's not as touristy as you think as it's a local's favorite.

Cuisine: 6 Service: 7 [[HIGHLIGHT]]Decor: 6[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Value: 5 Overall: 6 Spent the past weekend staying at our friend's place in Hampton Bays. Decided to try this restaurant since our original spot to get lobster rolls ran out of anything lobster by 1:00pm on a Sunday. All their business apparently shifted here just like us. Lol Anyway, it turned out to be a decent meal overall. The hot lobster roll was better than the cold, however, neither were amazing for the price. With that said, the large, plump, and juicy soft shell crab was cooked extremely well. Just look at my photos and see how crispy it appears. The popcorn shrimps were lightly battered and fried to perfection. Skip on the expensive seafood chili. The NE clam chowder and lobster bisque were average or below, but the Manhattan clam chowder stood out. Very unique and different than most, which is probably why I enjoyed it more than usual. Last but not least, no matter what you do, get the unbelievably awesome sweet corn. One ear of sweet corn came with the entree, but we ordered three more as sides to make sure we each had one to enjoy.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place can definitely get really busy especially during peak summer months.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But the lobster roll is worth the wait. The bun is delicious and topped with a generous portion of lobster. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have both indoor and outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The rolls are a little pricy but tastes great!

This place does have good food and great bloody Marry's but it's not worth the price. The key here is the price & service. Food: -Cold classic lobster roll was really good but not as great as Portland and when you're paying more than $40 you'd expect it to be some of the best. -Clam chowder was also great, hearty, and thick. -Bloody marry was phenomenal. - Fries (side) were just ok. Service was good. The staff were very kind. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a pretty causal atmosphere, think of it as more of a plain diner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Lunch makes a delicious lobster roll in addition to other a seafood dishes. The hot lobster roll comes with the lobster meat on a separate dish from the bun and you can assemble yourself so the bun doesn't get soggy. It's fantastic. We had to try the seafood chili nachos and were pleasantly surprised. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have indoor and outdoor door seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All the staff was friendly enough.

I had been to Lunch when they used to be near Riverhead years ago but hadn't been here since they opened. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is in an old diner and very nice inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got seated immediately and our server came by pretty quickly. My mom ordered the Connecticut style lobster roll and I ordered a traditional style with sweet potato fries. I tried a bite of my mom's lobster and it was so good. Mine was excellent as well, and refreshing on the hot day we had. The sweet potato fries were perfect, and loved the honey mustard with it. The coleslaw was also really good but maybe a touch less sugar in it. Service was excellent and I definitely want to go back again soon.

Solid place for seafood! Came in late afternoon on a Saturday. I was seated quickly at the bar and the waitresses were very attentive and kind. I got a hot lobster roll and fried clams. The fried clams I would pass on next time as they were a lot of batter without much clam. The hot lobster roll came deconstructed so you could build it yourself, which I actually appreciated because I took half of it home. The bun was nicely toasted on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The lobster was fresh and tender. A little pricey for the amount, but probably reasonable for the island.

If you've been to the Lobster Roll in Amagansett but don't love the flies and all that nature going on with al fresco dining, this location could be what you're looking for. It's in the old diner with a slight facelift. Very clean and perfect for folks who may not enjoy the picnic atmosphere of the original location. If you're coming to Lunch, then really, you're coming for a Lobster Roll. I got the hot version and it was everything I'd hoped for (I'd never had the hot version before.) This was the perfect choice. Clean and simple. Good lobster. I'm not going to bother reviewing anything else because, why? You shouldn't be coming here for other stuff. Just get what they're known for! LOBSTER! Oh and the fries were good too.

We went to Montauk during off season. Everything was closed for the season but was happy to see Lunch's Southampton location was still open. Probably the best hot lobster roll I've ever had, very buttery, and huge chunks of lobsters. The lobster bisque was also delicious and had lots of ingredients in it. Our waiter was also very friendly and checked in on us often.

What an absolute Ship-Show…read more.. I was certain we were being Punk'd. At any moment I expected Ashton Kutcher to spring out from behind a curtain, headset dangling around his neck, laughing and pointing. But alas, there were no hidden cameras. This was sadly not a joke. And we weren't laughing. Our party arrived for dinner at roughly 8:30p, a full 90 minutes prior to the "Kitchen Closes at 10p" posted cut-off time. The staff behaved as though we rolled up at 9:58p. While we were excited about our meals, the Shippy's team was very clearly already done for the night. After navigating the waitlist and a hi-top bar table, we landed in our seats and placed our orders. We were there for dinner -- sadly our waitress was out to lunch. We ordered two burgers, two wurst platters, and two steak entrees. They got one of those six orders correct, while the other five went up in flames. Both wurst orders were cold. They were sent back to the kitchen, and came back cool. The two steak entrees -- one a filet, the other a strip -- were reversed. The filet came undercooked (arrived medium rare when medium well had been requested) while the strip, which was ordered medium rare, came in medium well. And of the two smash burgers, one was delicious. The other was missing. In fact, the food arrived in strange phases. One overcooked entree. By itself. Five minutes later, two cold entrees. Another five minutes, an undercooked entree, followed by the lucky smash burger. Twenty minutes later, and after multiple reminders, the final smash burger arrived. Clearly it had never been ordered and needed to be rushed. And "rush" is rather generous. Obviously the goal of a meal is for all entrees to arrive, at the proper temperatures, simultaneously. I've seen a snail wade through molasses at a better pace than this dinner service. However, perhaps the most frustrating part of this experience was the overall lack of urgency by the staff. As our table sat bewildered, our waitress was nowhere to be found. The staff was wiping down tables, cleaning menus, polishing check presenters, and all while we sat with cold, dead, and missing food. Our table was sinking fast, and instead of tossing us a life raft, Shippy's stood on the shoreline waving us Bon Voyage. Ultimately we had to call upon the manager, who tried her best but was without answers. There was nothing for her to do except remove one entree from the bill. In truth, the full meal should have been comped. It was that bad. And these were only the major issues. There were also wine mixups, dirty plates that stayed around longer than unwanted relatives at Thanksgiving, and empty glasses strewn about the table like red Solo beer cups at a fraternity party. To call the visit disappointing would be like referring to the Titanic as a row boat. This thing was an absolute disaster with Shippy's taking on water like a sea vessel made of Swiss cheese. Despite issues with temperature, speed, accuracy, and attentiveness, we still managed to spend nearly $400. It would have been more productive to simply burn a wad of cash right there at the table -- at least then we could have warmed up the wurst.
