One of my favorite diners hands down! You cannot go wrong with anything here. I love their burgers, breakfast options and most of all their salads! I typically add some chicken or salmon to them and always have leftovers. They also have an extensive cocktail list and yummy desserts. Be sure to check out Olympic Diner next time you're in town. Based on first impressions I originally thought this place would rank more stars but there were several things that was a missed. I ordered matzoh ball soup and the waitress brought out chicken noodle soup instead. Asked for fries well done, they were not. Turkey burger was dry. The half roast chicken was still pink, not fully cooked near the thigh, leg and breast bone. The bill was incorrect, charged dinner price instead of lunch special price. The food comes out too fast. You place an order, the waitress goes into the kitchen and within minutes out comes the food. It wasn't even enough time to cook things fresh. It makes me wonder if things are partially cooked and just heated up or held in steam tables? Portions are huge but if the quality isn't good enough why bother. read more

The Olympic Diner has one of the most creative menus I've seen at a diner! Today for lunch, I had their French Onion soup--topped with a crispy onion ring, loaded with fresh mozzarella, and packed with caramelized onions. Such a fun twist on a classic! The cubed bread was just okay, but the soup itself was excellent. I've been here several times before, and my favorite menu item is the Lemon Blue Stack pancakes--fluffy, studded with fresh blueberries, and topped with house-made lemon whipped cream. Absolutely delicious and so unique! My server today, Elena, was wonderful. She greeted me right away, brought the menu promptly, and took my order with a genuine smile. She made me feel like I was her only customer--but honestly, every server I've had here treats me the same way. It was noisy today, but I expected that with the lunch crowd. Went to Olympic Diner and ordered a cheeseburger platter. I asked for the burger medium rare, but it came out well done. Unfortunately, that wasn't the only issue. The French fries tasted like they had been sitting around and reheated, not freshly made. The prices are on the expensive side, and while the portions are large, that doesn't really matter if the food isn't cooked properly. A big portion doesn't make up for poor execution. 2.5 start but rounding up to 3 because I am feeling generous. Stopped here after visiting Tanger Outlets for a quick lunch. Typical diner vibes. It has a pretty outside area with a pond and nice landscaping. The service was pretty good but the food was slightly disappointing. I ordered the Rustic Chicken Panini - it was "OK" taste-wise, but it came out basically deconstructed (see photo) and the bread was soggy. The Tuna Wrap was pretty tasty (better than the panini). One thing to note is that the portions are HUGE, so it was a shame that the food wasn't up to par. I've been to much better diners, so Olympic doesn't quite fit the bill for us. read more

My extended family members usually like coming here for their diner food when visiting and I came here for the first time with them recently on a Sunday afternoon around 12pm. The parking lot was PACKED. Luckily we were able to find a spot. Both the inside and outside looks like a typical diner. There were a few people waiting but we were seated right away, maybe due to a smaller party size. We were originally seated in a small booth but later someone else came and asked if we wanted to go to a round table which was much better. We were very cramped in the booth (4 adults and a small child). Only bad thing is the A/C was blasting right above the round table so bring a sweater to be safe. The waiter was very attentive and nice. Everyone was happy with their order. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash and Eggs (you can pick how you want them - I chose scrambled) which came with home fries and toast (white, rye, whole wheat and I think one more choice).. I thought the home fries tasted a little "off" but I didn't get sick from it so maybe it was the seasoning? The corned beef hash however was absolutely delicious! All the portions were huge, enough to be two meals so I guess you get what you pay for as I thought menu items were a little pricey. I know they have a bathroom but I did not utilize it. Overall, I would recommend this diner for their variety of food choices, portion sizes and good service. read more

I came here to eat with my parents this past weekend. I have a gluten allergy (not just intolerance) and made sure to tell the waitress that and to confirm that what I ordered was gluten free. Within 24 hours, I was extremely sick - stomach pains, bloating, vomiting, diarrhea. Because this was the only place I've eaten out at within the past few weeks, I assumed it from here. I called the restaurant and asked specifically if what I had was gf and the woman on the phone said no! I do understand these things happen and told her as much, and she was really apologetic, (and even said she wishes the wait staff wouldn't just guess) but this wasn't just slight cross contamination. This old horse is trying to fight the good fight. Covid hit this place hard. The owner and staff are friendly and attentive. The food has been great for years. We live not too far from this diner. I'm originally from NJ so, I when I say I know diners, I mean it! This diner has it all~ fresh baked goods, soups, dinner specials, all day breakfast and assorted platters ranging from gyros, paninis, brick-sized sandwiches and a bunch of seafood dishes also. My husband and I came here for a quick bite after a long day of running errands. He had the bacon, mushroom, jalepenos and cheese burger with a side of huge onion rings. The onion rings, I mean, look at them, they're HUGE, crispy and the onions are fresh. The burger was cooked to order, and they did not skimp on the toppings. There were loads of mushroom, bacon strips and cheese. It was greasy, hot and seasoned perfectly. I, on the other hand, opted for the reuben and it was uh-mazing. Pastrami was not dry, just the right amount of saurkraut, a mountain of yellow mustard (my favorite) accompanied with crispy, salty fries, pickle and creamy coleslaw. Our server was attentive, checked on us to make sure we didn't need anything and service was quick and great every time we've gone. We also regularly order delivery via GH and food always comes piping hot, fresh and delicious. We have relatives that live in Nassau County but they make their way to Suffolk just to go to this diner. I've been coming this establishment since I was a little girl and the service has always been amazing. Family friendly and welcoming. However, this last experience was different. Our server dropped my toast on top of me. I know accidents happen, but he never came back to see if we were ok or if we needed anything else. The menu options are not that interesting. If they want to save money they should consider shrinking their huge menu and making the options better. I've been dining at the Olympic Diner for over 30 years - the food and service has always been fine. However, last night my me and my wife ordered full meals and we each ordered a cup of hot water. The bill came, and we were charged $3.50 each for the hot water. We questioned this charge and were told that it's a new policy and were asked if we wanted 2 tea bags to take home! Freakin' insane, charging for hot water? They don't charge for cold water . . . the manager thought he was doing us a favor and only charged us for one. If this is their new policy, it should be on the menu and the waiter/waitress should mention this upon ordering. This will be my last time dining at this establishment! read more

Sweet tater fries--ample Caesar salad--ample, but too much dressing Broccoli--ample Asparagus--grilled, but lacked flavor Food is cooked to order. Waited at the counter. Manager offered us two black/white cookies for our wait. Dining room is large with counter seating too. Bathrooms were very fresh for a late evening visit. Plenty of parking. Overall our party was satisfied with the food. We were definitely full from the large portions. We didn't buy dessert, but the case with cakes, pies, cookies and more was very, very tempting. Mother's Day Dinner, we were quickly seated. We noticed the nostalgic lunch boxes that were hung over the counter service area - adorable!! Our server was Ray. He was friendly, energetic and impressive with how he memorized our table's order, along with another table!!! And everything was correct. We started with the fried shrimp for an appetizer. The coating was nice, and they were perfectly fried. My husband had the dinner special Teriyaki Trio of steak, chicken and shrimp over rice. It came with a soup or salad, he chose Manhattan Clam Chowder. It was loaded with vegetables and potatoes, not clams and prerty flavorless. He loved the Teriyaki Trio, which was a generous portion. I ordered the Stuffed Shrimp dinner special with cream of turkey soup. The soup, while not very thick, was delicious. I got 4 shrimp over stuffed with crab meat. They were excellent.
