Banana foster was soooo delicious, it brings ice cream whipped cream, bananas & walnuts all over a waffle. I also got the egg Benedict on a potato pancake with avocado and avo hollandaise sauce. JT's Café is a funky cozy little place on Montauk Highway in Bluepoint. The unique setting and atmosphere add to the ambience of this establishment My wife and I are regulars here for trivia. They also have live music on Saturday nights. I know many reviews indicate they do a great brunch. We have not attended brunch as we are not exactly morning people! The menu is good. Of particular note is the marinated skirt steak. I have tried the Sriracha glazed meatloaf. If you are a person who doesn't like spicy food. I would not order that. I think a nice addition to the menu would be a traditional meatloaf. During our last visit, we had Thai chili, glazed wings, beer battered shrimp, and fries and beer battered cod and fries. All were good. One thing that sets JT's apart from other restaurants in the area is the service . The staff is very energetic and fun. Kris who is typically behind the bar when we visit is always, pleasant, happy and Energetic. She makes quality cocktails, and always makes sure that everyone is taken care of. I ordered the Ribeye Omelette Special, which came loaded with marinated grilled ribeye steak, sautéed onions, peppers, and melted cheddar cheese. It was served with home fries and toast. The omelette was perfectly cooked, the ribeye was tender and flavorful, and the portion size was generous. truly a standout dish! My girlfriend had the JT's Classic Eggs Benedict, featuring two perfectly poached eggs, grilled smoked ham, and a toasted English muffin topped with creamy hollandaise sauce. The waitress was very sweet and she gets 5 star! We ordered beer battered codfish, Zero taste. The french fries had a pound of salt on them. The chicken pot pie had no cream in it. It was dry. We sent it back and was told that the cook got mad. He sent it back with liquidy milk, no cream. We could not eat that either and we got a bill for $52. We're actually quite disappointed. I ordered a game and Swiss three egg omelet with home fries and toast. Our waitress plotted us with coffee while the food was being prepared. The coffee was strong and hot. My dish arrived roughly one cup of coffee down. The omelet was delicious, the home fries were not the standard fair: small potatoes quartered rather than sliced and fried. Take sways: 1. Decided to check this place out! Didn't realize it gets so busy, I didn't have a reservation so we had to wait around 20 minutes. The place was literally packed but the service was quick! Decided to try some pumpkin pancakes which were delicious! I think they have seasonal choices available. Eggs are always good so you could never go wrong with that! The only issue that I had with everything was that after drinking like half of my coffee I noticed there were lipstick stains on my glass, which is extremely disgusting. So I pointed it out to the sever, instead of being apologetic about such a disgusting thing, she just looked at me and asked me if I wanted another cup. Service was great. Our server Natalie was awesome. The food was very good too. I had the lobster roll. Having just had one of the best rolls I've had ever in Boston, it's somewhat unfair to compare this one to the one I had. It just needed a hair more old bay seasoning. The quality of the lobster was fine and the price was fair. My husband had the marinated steak, which was definitely on the salty side but that's to be expected for a marinated steak. It was nicely offset by the very delicious mac & cheese. Overall, it was a very positive experience. the vibe is very cool and you can tell people really enjoy being there. On the way out to montauk I was seeking a breakfast/lunch spot and decided on JT's. It's literally on the route right where Nichols road hits Montauk highway in Blue Point. Best qualities: great atmosphere/vibe and friendly service. A lot of menu variety for both breakfast and lunch. Reasonably priced given the large portion sizes. Breakfast and lunch served daily except Tuesdays. They have their own parking area. The food was above average but not spectacular. The crab benny was solid but I've had a better crabcake and more flavorful hollandaise sauce. The coffee was also just ok. Overall if you are nearby I'd recommend giving it a shot. read more

My sister and I visited JT's Cafe on a Saturday morning for brunch. We made reservations, which were needed because the cafe was full. Food: we decided to both get eggs Benedict and share one with each other. We ordered the Florentine eggs Benedict and the Nova Scotia eggs Benedict. The Nova Scotia was *chefs kiss* so good! All the flavors worked beautifully together, it was definitely the highlight of our meal! The Florentine eggs Benedict were a bit bland. I needed to add salt to them. Both poached eggs were beautifully done. Both plates came with home fries which were lovely and well seasoned. Menu: pretty average brunch options. Price is reasonable. Last time in the Sayville area Bon G and I tried the new Brownstones Coffee on Montauk Hwy and found it to be in need of some work..see my review. We passed JT's on the way and considered it but said next time...well this was next time! stopped by for a late brunch. Looked for the old VW red bus parked out front but the lot was so crowded it was difficult to locate. We took the last spot and entered with high expectations. The place is really funky and comfortable. We were seated right away and perused the menu. It was about 2:15 and they close at 3 so we were , although not rushed, quick to give our order. Bon had a 3 egg omelet and Iced Tea and I had the Extreme Benny; sausage patty under poached eggs on toasted english with hash browns. Everything was delish and i was really impressed by the coffee...was full bodied and I had 4 cups! We had good service and the people were very helpful. We will def return again and try other menu items and also work on the Dinner menu! read more

My husband and I went in this morning for breakfast. The hostess was super friendly and sweet. The food was DELICIOUS! Only negative was our waitress was not attentive. She never checked on us and we never got refills on our coffees. It appeared all the waitresses were standing around chatting at the bar so it wasn't like she was too busy to check on us. I laughed when we got the bill and it said "unlimited coffee" considering we were never offered one refills. 4.5 stars! Food: pretty delicious across the board. The only thing I had that I didn't love was the quesadilla- but even that was decent. Love their brunch food- skillets are so yummy and filling. I've been here a quite a few times for lunch and it was always pretty decent but then I came for dinner and had a bad experience. I ordered one of the most expensive things of the menu, the scallop special with risotto. I was in shock at the size of the plate they put in front of me when they put it down I even said something to the guy and he said "ha seafood". The scallops were tiny, not what I expected, like those cheap little ones and one small scoop of risotto which tasted pretty bad at that and was hard. I was still SO HUNGRY after I ate and pretty much ate all of my sons, macaroni and cheese which he didn't like because it had no taste either but I was so hungry. Never in my life has this happened to me. As you can see in the picture below is one regular small plate and how tiny the serving is. So I spent $80 on dinner and we both left unsatisfied. Also, $15 for one glass of wine at JTs? Come on. So I had told the waitress that they should probably fix the special because it's not okayand she went to speak with the manager, comes back and said they can offer me a whopping 20% off my one dish. She comes back with the check and she only gave me 15% off the dish and then on top of that charged me more for the dish saying the price on the menu is the cash price. Absolutely ridiculous. I'll think twice before ever coming back here again after this experience. read more

Let me start off with the look. It's a very cute laid back vibe. You got the cute Volkswagen and farm truck out front near the Bluepoint sign and the beautiful lighted tree inside. It's just fun. Went for an Easter brunch with a party of 6. Wasn't as crowded as I expected it to be since I hear it can get pretty crowded. In any case - the food and prices are pretty standard. We had a lovely waitress that was patient and attentive. We stayed longer than expected but they weren't pushing us out the door. Overall pretty pleased. My wife and I have visited JT's Cafe (and his other former restaurants) many times in the past. We have typically enjoyed our experience at all of his venues (JT's Cafe is his last property) - the food is always very good to excellent. However we have seen a significant decline in service at JT's Cafe over the last several visits. We visited today for brunch. We arrived shortly after noon and there were several vacant tables. The hostess sat us immediately. Our server greeted us after about 5 minutes and asked for our drink orders (a mixed drink for my wife; coffee and seltzer for me). We told the server we were ready to order at the time she took our drink orders. My wife ordered the Waldorf Chicken Salad. I ordered a stack of pancakes with blackberries and a side of turkey bacon. Our drinks came quickly. My wife loved her drink. The coffee had clearly been sitting for quite some time as it was bitter and dark (even after three creamers). It was also delivered without a spoon to stir the cup. I drank the cup and hoped for a better cup on the refill but our server didn't come back until after our food was delivered to check on us. When our food arrived, my pancakes had blueberries on top and there was no turkey bacon. The runner took my pancakes to the kitchen and returned them with blackberries on top but still no bacon. I started to eat the pancakes but the filling was blueberries, not blackberries. At this point I wasn't going to return them a second time. Almost 10 minutes passed and still no bacon. There was no sign of our server so we flagged down one of the hostesses who went to check on the order for me. I also asked her for a coffee refill. After a couple of minutes she returned with the bacon but by this point my pancakes were cold. I ate them because waiting for them to be replaced meant my wife would have either eaten alone or had to wait for my order to be recooked. Our server finally checked in on us but by that time we were nearly finished eating. When the time came for the check, still no sign of her. We flagged down the other hostess who went looking and found our bill sitting on the bar. She delivered it and I paid the bill. Our server brought the receipt back to the table for me to sign. This visit is consistent with several of our other recent visits. The food is good but the service experience lacking. Also, if there was a manager there that i could have spoken with about the experience, it would be impossible to identify them. We saw the two hostesses, three servers and the kitchen runner that delivered our food.. nobody else. I'm torn between giving them another try, or not, but based on our recent experiences it will be some time before we're likely to return. read more
