Food is delicious. Never had an issue. We always get hibachi table. Soup and salad are good. Chicken/steak/shrimp very flavorful. Rice and noodles too! Portions are good. Service is good. The people at the front are very friendly. The waitresses and chef are nice and available. The chef is very funny. Makes the dining experience worth it. The place is nice decorated and clean.

Located on S Oyster Bay Road. Sharing parking spaces with lots of other establishments. So parking is plentiful. Super chill romantic date type or causal dining. Can come dressed in yoga pants and hoody if you prefer. I enjoyed my lobster bite appetizer. Literally it's a one bite appetizer. But delish nonetheless 10/10 Chicken karaage appetizer was juicy and steaming hot. 9/10 My sushi & sashimi omakase for 1... I only remembered the creamy Toro sashimi and the tuna sushi. They were chefs kisses. Ok so I came on a very busy Saturday night and I was thirsty af since coming from the gym and hot yoga. I drank 3 cups of water. But everytime I needed a refill on my water I had to hail someone down. As I literally did sit there patiently waiting for my waitress to stop by to check up on us. I would def dine in again tho!

Always an enjoyable trip. Their hibachi egg noodles (9/10) never fail my kids; their pomegranate- tini and lychee tini are my staple drinks there. We tried the seafood trio (9/10) for the first time and I have to say albeit the pricey cost - it was well worth it - the scallops and seasoning were on point. Service is always great and consistent.

If you remember Benihana; you know what to expect here. This weekend, there seemed to be a lot of birthday parties for preteen children. They seem to enjoy the floorshow, the chef puts on. Teppanyaki lunch portions are normal sized, i.e. you can finish them. They have cocktails, wine, and sake. Soft drinks for those under 21. The restaurant has a nice vibe to it.

The food here was great! We came here around 2pm for a weekday lunch, and we got notified that their kitchen was closing soon (since they close at 3 to prepare for dinner), which we didn't know about. But I'm glad that they told us so we weren't confused if we had to order more food later. The inside was decorated very nicely, with high ceilings and light fixtures that made it look elegant and fancy. Our waiter was alright, and the 3 of us ordered the Angry Dragon roll to share, the chicken hibachi, shrimp and chicken hibachi, and the lunch box. The lunch box included 6 ish pieces of California roll, which is a lot in my opinion, miso soup or salad, and an "appetizer" and main selection option. I opted for the salmon teriyaki for my main, but you can also get a roll or spring rolls for your main. I also got the pork gyoza for the "app", but you can get edamame or shrimp shumai as other choices. The lunch box came in a huge bento style container with an abundance of food. Very worth it for the price in my opinion. Everything was very good, except for the salmon teriyaki and vegetables which needed a bit more salt and flavor. The angry dragon roll was delicious, however, and it looked splendid too. The rolls are bigger than most places and it's packed with avocado and tuna. The hibachi lunch portions were also very good. Overall, I would definitely come by if I'm craving sushi and if I'm around the area.

Miko in Plainview NY is a Sushi restaurant. I ordered takeout appetizers. The tempora scrimp with vegetables was delicious. The pork buns were puffy like pita breads rolled over with fatty pork. ( see pix) They do have outdoor seating as well. Note: the edges on the back of these sheets are very sharp and count my jacket.

I'm a little naive or inexperienced when it comes to hibachi. I mean I've been to Benihana a million times, but some might say that's not legit compared to other places that might be a little less chain-y. Enter Miko Sushi & Hibachi which has a much stronger chokehold on the world of cooking right in front of you. For starters, Miko has a lot to offer beyond the hibachi table. Their regular dining area was bustling when I came last month for my buddy's birthday. The place had some nice style to it and felt like a level up from many other establishments of similar cuisine. Even the bathroom sink was unique! But let's leave the lavatory for now and return to what's most important: hibachi action. I'll say that any excitement at Benihana has been nonexistent the last bunch of times I have been there with the chef just going through the motions when cooking and doing all his tricks. At Miko, I couldn't tell if every chef was as enthusiastic as ours, but dang was this guy fun. You could tell he was enjoying throwing food (zucchini pieces) and drink (sake from a squirt bottle) into our mouths, though he also just seemed to be that kind of loving life guy. Perhaps some might have found him a little too over the top (the fake squirt bottle he pretended to shoot in my friend's wife's face seemed to result in mixed reviews), but knowing that hibachi is often a bit of a show, I was all for it. I was also all for their grub which tasted pretty darn delicious. My hibachi combo of filet mignon and chicken was cooked perfectly and the fried rice and veggies on the side were also tasty. The combo came with a choice of soup or salad, though I do like that at Benihana you often get both with your meal. A small downer (that and the regular service was a little slow/forgetful), but everything else was spot on. Overall, Miko is definitely several steps above a place like Benihana (sorry, old friend). It's got the ambiance, the interaction, and the food to make this true. A few small factors kept me away from giving five stars, but I'd gladly return to Plainview (or perhaps the slightly-closer-to-me location in Northport) to see how far this hibachi can go.

I have never been here but was meeting a friend and we decided to try this place. I did not know it had been around for a while. We walked in and were immediately greeted with lively conversations from the groups seated by the bar. There was plenty of seating so we asked for a table further away. It is a fairly large space with an entire section in the back for hibachi. Friend and I ordered the edamame, rock shrimp and a salmon avocado roll to share. We each ordered the sake flight and tri-color sashimi with a bowl of brown rice on the side. The edamame came out piping hot and plentiful. The rock shrimp was larger than I have had at other places. The sake flight had 3 different types of cold sake, ranging from a classic taste to a little fruity. Each tasting was 2 ounces and plenty to enjoy with our meal. The show stopper was the tri-color sashimi. It came out beautifully presented. Each piece of sashimi was bigger and thicker than i have seen elsewhere. Needless to say, i did not finish my meal and brought half of the sashimi home for hubby to try. The only miss was they forgot the salmon avocado roll which was fine because we were full. When we pointed it out, they took it off the bill but I guess it would have been nice if they didn't forget it to begin with. I cannot wait until my daughter is home to go and try this place with her. So disappointed that I hadn't been before!

Their food was really good. I loved their service as they asked me for my allergies and made sure my food was safe for me. The ambiance was nice and a lot of families were there for dinner. The guy who cooked for us was really fun and enthusiastic!! I would come back for the steak next time !

Came here after work on new years eve for dinner and it was amazing! The place was nicely lit, tables, and area was clean. we were greeted immediately by a server and got a delicious drink! For appetizer we got the calamari and edamame. the calamari came with a sweet chili sauce and spicy mayo! both were to die for with the crispy calamari. The edamame was soft and well salted. For dinner I just did a special roll, I think it was the dragon roll, I am not too sure but it consisted to shrimp tempura wrapped in a soy wrapper. Definitely will be coming back here for more!!!! I know that they serve hibachi - I heard them in the other room in the back. Would love to bring my children here too!

Lunch Bento Box, also comes with soup or salad.

While I had heard great things about this restaurant, I hadn't been in yet. I'm sure glad we chose to come here. Since I'm perpetually early, I went to have a beer at the bar while waiting and had a chance to peruse the happy hour menu. Lots of good stuff here including many beers and cocktails. This menu is available until 6 pm during the week. Bartender was a doll and gave me the skinny on all her favorites for both the happy hour and regular menus. Bar seats maybe 15 people and a tv above will keep a solo flyer busy for a bit. Once my buddy arrived, we were seated in the dining room toward the back. A great space able to seat many patrons. Larger groups can easily be accommodated. Our server Zack was awesome and came by just often enough. He also did a great job spacing out our courses so as not to overload our table. We started with soup and then had one of the starts of the evening- sliced seared tuna. This was a reco from the earlier mentioned bartender and it was a super home run. So were the Bang Bang Tacos. ( another reco from our great bartender food guru.) My friend said his salmon was good but not great and I had a burger that Zack recommended. Cooked perfectly, juicy and delicious, this was an incredible burger and I could have taken at least half home. I didn't because it was so good and I felt stuffed when it was finished. We didn't stop there though - the dessert menu looked awesome and I wasn't going to miss it. Coffee and snifter of Chambord matched with the cinnamon apple explosion was the "icing on the cake" Great meal and service. Will definitely come back and the sooner the better.

Portions are generous and the best dish of the night was the Dancing Shrimp appetizer (fried shrimp wrapped in kataifi). Overall, wouldn't mind coming back here if in the area but wouldn't go out of my way to visit. One of the best features of the restaurant is the ambiance accompanied by good service. Bar is lively on weekends, and the dining area is spacious for table parties of 4-6.

At first I was somewhat bummed we missed the DJ night on Friday and Sunday brunch but one of the coworkers said "you came on a good day, Achilleas is your waiter." I didn't know that meant much at the time but Achilleas absolutely did not disappoint. He brought humor, laughs and our food, what was not to love? He continued to impress us from remembering our whole party's names, orders and all small facts about each individual one of us. He kept us laughing so hard that even my friend suggested they advertise "Achilleas Night" on the front door. If you're curious, follow his instagram @theothersideofgreece - him and his wife have their own travel company. Now to talk about the amazing food... to begin, if you didn't order the French Toast Sticks for an appetizer, YA DONE MESSED UPPP!! Go back, and order two of them, maybe three (it's 6 huge pieces each - not the time to count calories) ! I don't do French toast but I'd never go against the crew and I'm glad I didn't pick this day to waver. They were perfectly sweet, crunchy, warm & doughy . Then just when I thought we were done, Achilleas slides out with two complimentary desserts, one for me (birthday) and another for my two friends that had a big engagement that we are still celebrating! The complimentary cake was surprisingly delicious. It was vanilla birthday cake served warm with a scoop of ice cream, sprinkles and whip cream and my mouth is still watering over it. Needless to say, we're all looking for reasons to get together on an Achilleas night again.

As I craved BBQ for the umpteenth time, I was saddened by my past visits to those Long Island places that claimed bbq but were just neon lights or chain stores or just pure disappointments... and then saw a new place opened just a few months ago that was within striking distance. I couldn't resist - I had to try again... As you drive in, stay vigilant and make the correct turn - you might miss it if you go too fast on Jericho Turnpike. Drive straight down - your reward awaits you on the left. I was greeted by Lou, who runs Prime Time Butcher; he is Father to Josh of Blowin' Smoke. This is a family that knows quality meat - we are talking Generations of Butchers. As I waited for my order, Lou greeted customers that came in by name - they've been there before and he knew exactly what they wanted. (That's always a good sign.) Josh came out to greet me and apologized for the slight delay in my order. I came in on a Tuesday evening, missing the Pastrami days on Wed and Thurs, the Brisket of Fri, Sat, & Sun. So, I did what every other aficionado of BBQ would do - I ordered almost everything else to sample the range of the menu. As I left with my order, Lou asked for my honest appraisal and I promised him I would: Long Island has Good BBQ - and it can be found at Blowin' Smoke. Ask the toughest critics: my teenagers. They DEVOURED everything: pulled pork, St Louis ribs (both sauces), baby back ribs, chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, wings. They looked up and declared this was the best BBQ they've had in NY. And then they asked if we can go back again in the future - oh, yes, we will... My greatest compliment would be this: would I wear a tshirt and hat with the Blowin' Smoke logo on it? The answer is a resounding YES. (I just hope they don't do the stereotypical black color - this place is unlike any other and shouldn't look like everybody else...) Go get yourself some good BBQ at Blowin' Smoke - and make yourself happy that you did.
