Very much a hidden gem on Long Island. The mart has a large variety of snacks, food, and desserts that are authentically sourced from Japan. Stopped by their food court and had a ramen. It was amazing considering the price and how delicious it was. The worker was very friendly as well and spoke to us about what she recommended. They also have great bakery items as well. We love getting their sausage breads and triangle nigiris in the morning. They stuff those up to the brim, so definitely worth the price. Almond cookies were crispy and tasty. Ambiance is alright. Doesn't seem like there are many people whenever I go. Love the place though. Would recommend to anyone who is looking to try some Japanese food. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5

Good place for all your hard to find Japanese products, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. They have the special KitKat flavors, Japanese beers, other beverages, and so much more. The store is setup in the style of a supermarket. Very clean, and easy to navigate through.

The store has plenty of food, ramen, snacks, cookies, and cakes from Japan. I've visited the store a couple of times. In the front of the store, they display a lot of ready-to-eat and packed food and groceries. The snack aisle is in the middle, and in the back is the ramen corner. Here, you can order at the counter and have a seat and eat. I liked some of their rice balls, but I loved their poke bowl. It's assorted raw fish over rice, like Chirashi. Come by for a quick bite or for something to go. They have everything for everybody.

A marvelous hidden gem on the island! For a small shop, it is jam packed with Japanese goodies. Pre-made food, groceries, ramen, beauty supplies, candy, this place has it all. There's even a cafeteria in the back serving fresh made Japanese food! The employees there were super sweet and willing to help if need be. On top of my groceries (which included barley tea, pokemon themed curry, fruit sandwich and jelly candy), I picked up a freshly made jelly doughnut. Because nothing beats a jelly filled doughnut. But seriously, the spicy tuna onigiri was so good. More tuna than mayo so it didn't feel heavy. And the rice was fresh and warm. Plus, you get to do a little assembly on your own with the seaweed which was cool! Honestly, this place is a bit out of my way, but 1000% looking forward to visit again.

Stumbled upon this hidden mart. It has so many snacks and even grocery items. I definitely would've gotten some of the frozen dumplings if I was on my way home. If you go to the back of the store, it's a little ramen shop. It looked really good, too bad I had already eaten

What a gem. Even without the embedded restaurant, which only adds to the store's appeal, this is clearly a legit Japanese vendor that I wish we had closer to home. They don't have a massive shop space, but they seem to have made a clever use of it and the place feels like a delightful maze of Japanese goodies, from sandwiches and mochis to dry goods and frozen snacks, and a whole lot of other things in between. Their inari was delicious and I couldn't get enough of them, and I lament the fact that they haven't (yet) expanded their business to upstate. We're waiting patiently!

Decided to take my son here to check out this Market bc he loves Japanese stuff and it's the closest you can get to Mitsuwa on Long Island without having to drive to New Jersey. It is conveniently located about 3 miles away from the LIE and their parking lot is small so get here early to avoid crowds especially on the weekends. The supermarket is very compact so they stock the main necessities with (mostly) everything authentically imported from Japan as well as other grocery items. They also have Japanese beer, cosmetics, skincare products, desserts, prepared foods, pastries and more. You actually feel like you're in Japan and I can say this since we made the trip there last summer. The cashier (Maggie) was actually speaking Japanese and she was beyond friendly when it comes to customer service. Prices are very reasonable, some things even cheaper than Hmart. Their spicy tuna onigiri and spam & egg musubi were really good. If you're looking for hard to find authentic Japanese products or just a Japanese market in the area (this is one of the bigger ones), check Hanamaru out and try TeiNei Ya Ramen too- in the back of the store with limited seating.

What a find! I was craving a Japanese beef bowl so I googled one near my location at the time. I did notice it was a market but the reviews were promising. I am I have this place a chance. It is a very small mini mart tucked away so much so that if you blink you'll miss it. It has outdoor seating and plenty of parking. Inside when you walk in are merchandise to purchase. In the back however is where you order your food to go or to stay. I ordered a beef bowl and an original Ramen soup with beef and seasoned egg for lunch tomorrow. The beef bowl was absolutely delicious. I know I'll return to this little gem when I am nearby again. I haven't tried the Ramen yet but if the beef bowl is any indication, I am sure I'll be just as happy with it. I purchased some snacks as well. A Japanese butter cookie that just melted in my mouth. Its buttery flavour left me wanting more. The staff were so very nice and attentive. So glad I visited.

Please be sure to follow CDC guidelines in regards to COVID and please do not visit restaurants if you or someone in your party does not feel well. I was surprised to find such an amazing Japanese grocery store in the middle of LI but I'm so glad I did. Let's start at the beginning. I was craving onigiri and was going insane trying to find some when I stumbled across this place. Naturally, I got a ton of onigiri and some other delicious snacks, like takoyaki, pork buns, and crispy squid tentacles. There were so many different onigiri to choose from. We ended up getting Roasted Pork, Bonito, Salmon, Spicy Tuna, Shrimp Tempura, Kombu, and Ume. I loved all of them but my favorites were between Roasted Pork and Shrimp Tempura. The onigiri was really great, and I would say a strong 8/10. The Takoyaki was so fresh and just wow! The octopus wasn't too chewy and there was (thankfully) no fishy smell or taste. I enjoyed it so much and would say it's a 9/10 but only because I wish it were bigger Hands down the Pork Buns were my favorite. The pork was tender and well marinated, and just made me want to weep from happiness as I ate it. A definite 10/10 for me. A close second was the Crispy Squid Tentacles. I'm a very picky person with my squid so I was beyond thrilled that this was so good! The squid wasn't too chewy and its preparation was just incredible. This was a solid 10/10 for me! Other goodies included milk tea, red bean jelly, chocolate bun, Moshi sparkling drink, and frozen curry buns. The store itself isn't too big but there are a ton of products available. Everything seemed well stocked and the store is very clean and pretty organized. Overall, this was a really great Mom and Pop store that has a great selection of Asian products and a yummy food menu for after grocery shopping.

I don't think there are many Japanese markets in Long island. I secretly hoped that this place would be similar to Mitsuwa in size and with their food court offerings. I was hugely disappointed when I found out it's no bigger than my local 7-11. This store is pretty small, and their food court takes up half that space. I wouldn't really call it a food court either as they only have 1 option and that's Teinei Ya Ramen. The food is pretty decent but nothing mindblowing. The staff seems nice though but I found the prices were slightly higher than what I usually see in Queens. They do have a small area for kids to play/read (shoes off) in the food court area and I think that's brilliant. Overall 3.5/5 - would stop by if in the area, but not worth going out of your way to visit.

A real authentic taste of Japan, offering things that you will not find at your local sushi joint. It's small and packed, with aisles of Japanese packaged foods. The real stars are the onigiri, both fresh (I sampled the spicy tuna, plum and tuna & mayo) and fried, and the Japanese curry dishes. I had the excellent chicken katsu curry, my son got the pork katsu curry, which was even better. My wife's mushroom ramen was good too. Think Japanese "soul food." We shared some fried squid tentacles which were DELICIOUS. Also stocked up on a few cool Japanese beers, some desserts, etc.

Ramen, but I remembered this place tucked away on 110 near Costco that I've passed 100 times and suggested it. When everyone saw the menu and their more unique offerings, we immediately pivoted and ordered from here. My husband picked the vegan curry tofu ramen, my future brother-in-law picked the spicy wonton ramen, and my sister picked the wild pepper ramen. Everyone loved theirs! I sampled the curry broth and it was delicious. I had dental work last week so I've been cautious of what I can eat so I picked just the miso broth with noodles and added a side of egg and a side of the beef shank. The beef shank was able to be cut with a plastic spoon with how tender and delicious it was. The eggs were perfectly gooey in the middle, and the broth was exceptional. We all agreed we wished there was a bit more broth in their bowls but that's our only complaint. I need to come back here to eat in the restaurant next time!

We started with edamame and shrimp shumai to share, both simple and tasty. I had the seafood ramen, which was packed with flavor and loaded with shrimp, scallops, and clams--comforting and delicious, especially on a cold night. My husband had the shrimp donburi and really loved the grilled shrimp, which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The service was great, definitely a great place to warm up on a cold winter night.
