Kyoto has my heart!!!…read more My absolute DoorDash/Uber eats go to when I'm craving a solidddd poke bowl!!! I've even gone out of my way to stop here in person and order because they have a cute mart also with unique finds! I've been ordering from here for quite some time so I can tell you the culmination of my review is that this place is always consistent in quality!!! I have ordered everything and anything at this point so this review will be on everything I have tried even if not pictured. First of all, all of their onigiri, sashimi, and sushi is top tier. The flavors and textures are always on point. Appetizer: -Seaweed Salad: tasty seaweed salad (your typical seaweed salad! -Snow Crab Salad: so yummy- very fresh and it seems to be kani mixed with snow crab pieces which are such a delight whenever you get to them! -Kani Salad: honestly a pretty solid kani salad for it being a mart/deli! Restaurant quality!! Perfect ratio. -Shrimp Tempura: my constant go to everytime. perfectly crisp and comes paired with eel sauce and spicy mayo. -Takoyaki: not the best takoyaki I have had but not bad. Fresh always. -Miso Soup: my constant go to everytime. Delicious and unique: it has tofu, seaweed, and kani sticks in it. Entrees: -Kyoto Onigiri: solid! I will come back to this every now and then (it comes with a marinated egg and has kani in it with seaweed salad and onigiri spices.) -Shrimp Tempura Onigiri: also solid whenever I want something more filling with shrimp tempura on it. -Mix Poke!!: (salad base) MY GO TO. they can accommodate if you want a salad base vs rice base. Seafood is always fresh- the octopus, salmon and tuna are always fresh and they honestly do a great job packing it. The incorporated additions of tamago, tobillo, avocado, cucumber, etc really compliment the bowl and the poke sauce that comes paired with it seals the deal. -Sushi Pick 2: any roll is always prepared well- the rice is always perfectly soft and the rolls are prepared on demand. Overall my favorite poke spot to date. What a treasure! Will continue to be a loyal customer here!! I encourage everyone to check it out!

Just recently I've been trying to teach myself how to cook. My favorite cuisine is Indian food, so…read moreI've been trying to cook some Indian dishes. The problem is, most of them contain spices that every single supermarket in Huntington does not carry. So I needed an Indian supermarket! The closest one to me is Apna Bazar. The variety of produce is nothing short of mind blowing. And the prices are very tough to beat! Of course there's an entire aisle dedicated to spices. Christopher Columbus would have had a conniption similar to Robin Williams character in the "coffee" scene in "Moscow on the Hudson." Rice, rice, everywhere! I got brown basmati rice! And very affordable olive oil! They also sell cooking utensils if you're missing something. The one complaint I see in other reviews is the store is too crowded. Yes, it's crowded, but every Shop Rite I've been to is just as crowded as Apna Bazar if not more so. I don't consider crowding a serious issue here. If you don't like crowds it's best to go to a smaller market or a supermarket with expensive prices (*cough* Southdown *cough* Uncle Giuseppe's *cough*). Excuse me! :p Also the cashier section is just a little bit confusing. Is there one big line? No. I'm against those anyway because I think it makes shopping at the store even more difficult. There are plenty of cashiers here, and I think each one has its own line. Parking is ample! Anyway, I highly recommend Apna Bazar, even if you don't cook Indian cuisine. Especially if you like competitively priced fresh produce.
