What a delightful Middle Eastern/Indian specialty store with a huge variety of fresh produce, spices and groceries! Had a wonderful time exploring today and brought home some great goodies. I hope to come back when in the area.

Apna Bazar, a South Indian/Middle Eastern specialty market, is open 24 hours a day. That's quite the convenience as far as supermarkets go. I stopped in here Summer '22 for one thing only, Maggi Masala Spicy Noodles. I was introduced to South Indian Snacks and a variety of vegetarian meals, from my ex-colleague some 12+ years ago. One of many items she introduced me to was this instant and crazy cheap lunch noodle pack called Maggi Masala Spicy Noodles. The spicy, spice level and flavors had me hooked. At the time each pack cost a whopping 25c, which made for an inexpensive and hearty meal. Fast forward to the present. Noticing Apna Bazar, traveling through Hicksville. I made it a point to stop in specifically looking for Maggi. Walking in was a bit overwhelming with the multitude of products and smells. I recognized a few Indian Snacks, but was there for one thing only, which I couldn't locate. The staff was helpful guiding me to this mountain of Maggi which is obviously a popular product. I can't really commment on the other items. Other than, they appear to carry all of what you may need and the service being helpful. The negative side of this market is that it needs a serious makeover. Otherwise, if you're looking for Maggi they have an abundance.

A fairly well stocked Middle Eastern and South Indian grocery store. They have about 80% imported products and 20% standard American. Serving a burgeoning community of former New York City residents that have moved out to these parts.

Chunky Papaya for dessert, effin delicious!

Great prices and large selection. I can always find the ethnic stuff that I need. Can get very crowded at times.

This place has truly delicious food. It is an assuming store/storefront where most thing are…read morealready packaged but holy moly did it exceed my already high expectations. A friend recommended it and despite her high praise, even she undersold it. You must get the hummus (I opted for the pine nut) and Turkish eggplant dip (a small container of each will run you $9-10 so it is not cheap but it is worth it). Each dip has the perfect thickness (not to watery or too thick) and was delicious. I heard good things about the bourekas and they had a new brisket boureka out so I bought a pack (10 or so in the package for $22, sold frozen). You heat them in the oven or toaster oven at 350 degrees for 20min. They were absolutely delicious, perfect texture (crunchy outside, soft inside) and the meat inside had so much flavor. For dessert we bought the baklava and pistachio mamoul. Everyone raved about the baklava and I really liked the pistacho mamoul as they were not too sweet (don't let the powdered sugar on the outside fool you). A very kind lady helped me find everything (though if you spend 5min walking around the store which is not that big, you can find everything yourself). Again, everything we bought was absolutely delicious and while it is not inexpensive, you get your money's worth. Absolutely worth checking out, I would be a regular here.

Even if you're not Jewish, most have heard of Tavlin. It was a small Kosher grocery store with…read morecanned goods and homemade salads- and the best Jelly Donuts around Hanukkah. They recently expanded to now serve hot food like shakshuka, falafel, bourekas, schnitzel. It's bright and clean since the renovations. Pricy, but, oh, so yummy. Laura took over and is an absolute doll. Stop in for their biscochos and babka. If you don't know what something is, just ask. She will guide you. Go in and be guided.
