First time here while I was in Long Island. Parking is on the street and can be hard. Luckily, I was able to get one in front of the store since someone was leaving. Clean and small spot, but lots of Filipino goodies and food. I was only looking for polvoron. They only had cookies n' cream, I usually prefer the classic polvoron. These are also very good. They recommended the toasted pastillas which is very popular and I've never had this brand before. I bought three flavors, classic, toasted, and ube and cheese pastillas. These were very addicting and delicious. The toasted pastillas is my favorite. I also bought ginataang mais since I haven't had it in a while, also very good. Pretty pricey place, but friendly and nice staff. Anna was very helpful. I will definitely be back when I'm back in Long Island. read more

I truly love this place and have been going here since the business started decades ago. They have Filipino food items galore which I need to replenish supply pretty much on a weekly basis. Their cooked food to go is delicious and great for freezing until needed for later in the week meals. The desserts are authentic Filipino cuisine. I called the morning of and was given the option of 50 or 100 and pork or chicken. I chose 50 pieces of pork lumpia for $28 (excluding tax). It was piping hot when I went to pick it up and couldn't help myself to 10 in the car on the way home. It was just as good as I remembered it to be when I had their lumpia for the first time at my friend's wedding, The store is small, like a deli. When I was little, my Mom's Filipino colleagues would bake these amazing Ube cakes for us and also bring us something called Hopia. That was my first encounter with Filipino food and I fell in love. So glad this place is around the corner from home. Every time I crave random stuff, this is where I come. Their Ube cake is amazing. I'd say it's slightly pricey, like it's tiny and costs 20 bucks, but totally worth it. Love coming here. Always go back with something random and this time I got the Ensaymadas (Regular & Ube) - about 2 bucks each. They are both really good and I'm saving them as week-day pick-me-ups. P.S. AMAZING!! Finally found a place closer to home. We use to go to a different Filipino store in Queens, NY. Turns out they are family and it felt just PERFECT to shop here. Very friendly staff and helpful! The variety of items there are ALOT! And the hot food is DELICIOUS! Its exactly how I picture Filipino food. Lechong Kawali and pork bbq on a stick is the hot food to buy! Perfectly tender well seasoned and not greasy! They do catering and I will be sure to do my next event with them. This is one Long Island Filipino grocery store I have never been so one sunny day, I swing by during my lunch break. Is it worth driving from my workplace located in Garden City to Hicksville? Parking is hard to find. Commodities being offer are plenty and the location carries much of my childhood favorites but pricing is unbelievably high. I was delighted when I purchased my favorite snacks but when my husband and I tried the empanadas at home later on , a little bit hard to chew. The bbq pork on stick lacks the flavor I am expecting. Relyenong bangus was a disappointment. Presentation of the supplies are orderly and appealing. It made me buy more things than I supposed to. Will I come back? I cater from Philippines best for my house warming and was very upset with the food. I was wondering why the adobo I order was barely eaten and when i tried it i knew why. It was super salty. It tasted like they just saturated it with salt and soy sauce. I called to let them know all they said was that's how there adobo tasted nothing was wrong. Clearly will not be ordering from there if they think saturating food with salt and soy sauce is how adobo should taste. As I read below review others have complained in the past that it is so salty and they just threw out the food . I bought their pinangat na galunggong , so excited to eat and was so devastated it was very very very salty. I can hardly taste the fish anymore. I just threw it out. Great mini grocery store for all of your Filipino food needs. They have an outstanding selection of grocery here. Went in right as they opened and was greeted right away, the family that owns it are very friendly. Got my longanisa (hot and sweet) and 2 pre made chicken empanadas all for $12. Great little Filipino grocery. Sure, they are on the pricey side, but keep in mind that they are a specialty store, and one of the only two on the island (that I know of). If you're looking to pay less, there are others in NJ, where there are Filipino communities and more competition, but I would imagine what you would pay in tolls and gas would surpass what these guys are charging. So, for the convenience alone, they're fair. The store stocks pre-prepared meals, desserts, vegetables, rice, and other grocery items. They also offer catering. Although we mostly come here when my boyfriend is craving the pork BBQ or when we run out of Silver Swan soy sauce, we still make it a point to visit at least once a month because they are always getting in/making something new. The staff is always friendly and always accommodating. Service is always with a smile, and if you can't find something on one of the shelves, they are willing to check their stock; if they are out of it, they make it a point to suggest a good time to come back. Parking is on-street, which is no picnic when they're busy, which is why I took off a star. Other than that, this grocery is def worth a try. read more

A nice little grocery store conveniently located to my new residence. I come here often to pick up the ingredients for various Filipino dishes I cook at home (and you just can't find anywhere else). Also a good source of fresh siopao (pork buns) and ensaymadas too. In the summer, I highly recommend their halo-halo. There's no place to eat inside, so you'll have to take it outside, or eat in your car. They also sell "heat and eat" meals you can take home. 9/7/17 As per my usual habit I make it a point to buy food from this establishment lechón fried tilapia nd the my kids all time favorite the pork shish-kebab and few more items from the front counter mainly the sweet rice rapped in banana leave. However on 2 different occasions after buying the shish-kebab I notice once home and taking them out of foil package that they burned so bad that they ended up in garbage. As a regular customer I decided to let them know what's was going on with their food. The cooked food in Philippines Best has always been excellent, the lecho kawali, the barbecue, the bangus, the bicol express, guinataan na langka, pancit bihon, pancit canton, the lumpia shanghai, the only time I didn't like my order was for sotanghon guisado, all their other pancits (malabon, palabok) are very good. They also have excellent kare kare, arroz caldo, tinolang manok, menudo, chicken embutido, pork embutido, they also have excellent fresh longanisa I would rather pay the price for good, clean food. This place is a real find. Philippine's Best is more of a grocery store, but they have some delicious home made foods that will really impress you. The Siopao buns, BBQ Skewers of pork, empanadas, fried fish, jong (Chinese name for them; sticky sweet rice wrapped in banana leaves) and other specialties are extremely tasty. Just get there early on the weekend if you want to sample some of these foods. The people working there are very friendly and will help you choose what you should try.
