Lunch special. 4 rolls for $18 is actually not 4 complete rolls
    Canny F.

Ordered the lunch special $18 for 4 rolls. Pumped to eat after the gym! I opened the bag and see only two trays. See pictures attached. I'm confused. Did I not pay for 4 rolls? I opened the lid and yeah, it's 4 different types of rolls with 4 pieces of each roll. So basically, 16 pieces which is 2 complete rolls. Did I just get played? Since when was a roll 4 pieces? I look at the yelp pictures and someone else had a take out sushi box with 2 rolls (6 pieces per roll) in there so 12 total. Unless it's 3 rolls since 4 pieces constitute a roll. Technically the definition of a roll is vague since it doesn't tell you the exact amount of pieces but I've eaten at so many sushi places and saw the yelp Pic so this was a bummer. I debated on this place vs others. Now I question if this is a Long Island thing or this place only thing since other sushi spots nearby also have a lunch special deal of $15 for 3 rolls or something similar. Unfortunately, minus 1 star for being different than the normal? Suggestion for them to ensure customers are aware? Sorry I usually don't discount a star for this but I was quite disappointed by my serving size. As for the sushi, it was pretty good. No complaints about taste, texture, quality and packaging. Loved the rice to filling ratio. The salmon was fatty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant looked very clean too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Order was made on time. Have I had better? Yeah, in Japan and surprisingly in Houston. How is this quality compared to other lunch specials? Pretty good and better than a few others. Would I be willing to pay this price? Yeah, if I knew I was getting into. Just a tad disappointed with the price for value of my lunch since I would've ordered differently aka more if I knew I wasn't getting 4 complete rolls.

Hidden gem in Syosset near dirty taco, taking on hand rolls as their speciality. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's small and dim in here but provides great ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was very fresh and delicious and the service was fast. Came in just a little over a half hour before closing and they were more than accommodating. While I do think there are better sushi spots in the area, I think dozo dozo is one to try!

I just had a great experience here! So much so that I went back in the same week! The staff was super friendly and the food came out quickly. When one of my hand rolls took a bit longer than expected, I was given a complimentary glass of wine to make up for it. I recommend the crispy spicy tuna or crispy spicy yellowtail, SO good!

Great service, extremely friendly and super attentive. My Omakase, was everything I hoped for and thoroughly explained. The fish was the most perfect temperature and the taste of each plate served was amazing. I don't eat eggs and I actually devoured the egg tasting. My guest enjoyed their soup and the sake was lovely. We left a cell and when we returned the restaurant was closed but the gentleman host was in the lot and ran up to assist us in retrieving the cell phone. I really enjoyed my meal

Service was top notch . Food was delicious. I came here for the omakase experience for $120. - @ 15 course deal. And well worth it! I'm not a fan of ikura. However, they made it super tasty alongside the uni..I'm so speechless. The best one I had tasted was the Toro w uni. And Toro w something else. Sorry I can't remember I was too bz stuffing my face. One would think 15 pieces of sush/ sashimi i? That's not filling! . however.... and I say this lightly.... I was super stuffed by the end of my meal. -no I was super stuffed in the middle fo my meal that I requested for less rice on my.sushi pieces. No need to trek to the city for good omakase. Dozo dozo is the place to satisfy that craving. By far theee best I've ever had! Needless to say. I def recommend!

The place is intimate and cozy and their sushi is fresh and delicious! Love that they had variety of selection of fish and the cuts were generously served. Love that this place has ample amount of parking and its more laid back. My kids also loved the tempura udon. The broth savory and the noodles were super chewy perfectly cooked. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable. Def worth a try if you are in the mood for japanese food.

I got the sushi-sashimi combination. The sushi was fresh. One of my favorite sushi spots on Long Island for the quality of fish. The service was great as well. Will definitely be coming back.

Had omakase here, every piece was very fresh and delicious, a rare gem on Long Island. Although I loved my dinner, I was hoping for more creativity in each fish, I felt most of the flavors were pretty one note. The children were also very hungry due to the slow service, our server was running and his forehead had beads of sweat so I assume they might just have been short staffed for the night. It was a pleasant dinner and I would definitely come back for my omakase fix, hopefully things improved even more!

Went on a Monday when a lot of other sushi places are typically closed. I am happy to report that the fish was very fresh. We did the omakase. It is $120 a person for 15 tastings. They also offer 10% cash discount. The staff were very attentive. The inside is very modern and clean. The omakase was a great experience with various different flavor profiles. I liked that the omakase included appetizers and dessert. Definitely would recommend.

Excellent omakaze for Long Island. Can't go wrong here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Top notch food quality and good ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good choice for date night or business dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Delicious! We went for the omakase but having been seated by the chefs, we got to see everything that was being made and if all looked amazing. The fish was extremely fresh and creatively plated. The chefs were very friendly and they explained each dish nicely. Our waiter was also very helpful, friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is very warm and inviting but modern and clean. Would recommend for a group of friends or even a date night. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

The shopping center where this restaurant is located in Plainview is always packed and although it's plenty busy, there are plenty of parking spaces for the multitudes of folks going here or there. When seated, drink orders were taken straight away and delivered promptly. Kids got Japanese Soda and iced tea. For the adults, Mrs me and I split a hot sake and paired it with a beer and a saketini. Our friend ordered a tequila based drink and enjoyed it. Service was fantastic from the hibachi chef who really engaged us all and put on quite a show. He has the right personality to interact with a large group and presented a plate that was delicious and pleasing to the eye. Food was great and I would like to recommend the Chilean sea bass and short rib combo. Sushi and sashimi were very fresh and delicious. Fried rice and noodles were cooked perfectly and the whole meal didn't break the bank. Well done!

We decided to give them another chance and returned today, only to have another frustrating experience. We made a reservation specifically for hibachi. When we arrived and told them we had a hibachi reservation, we were simply told, "No, not right now." There was no apology, no explanation, and we weren't even given the option to wait for a hibachi table. At that point, what was the purpose of making a reservation? We ended up sitting at a regular table and still ordered hibachi dinners. To make matters worse, our food came out at different times instead of all together, so some of us were eating while others were still waiting for their meals. One of the main reasons we chose hibachi was for the experience, the ability to enjoy the meal together, and to celebrate my friend's birthday. A reservation that isn't honored made for a very disappointing visit. After giving this restaurant a second chance, we will not be returning.

The place was decorated with red heart balloons everywhere. My daughter loved this and wanted to take one. She wasn't able to, but the really nice sushi chefs did give her kani, which she loved. We started with hot tea, which was delicious. Kumo has a great lunch special. I took advantage of it and got the sushi and sashimi special. It consisted of a tuna roll, 5 pieces of sushi and 10 pieces of sashimi. Was very filling, fresh and delicious. Came with miso soup and salad. I enjoyed the salad, but their miso soup wasn't so great. I did not finish it. My husband also took advantage of the lunch special and ordered the 3 roll combo. He really enjoyed all of his rolls. My daughter had the tatsuta age. She absolutely loved it as it was basically chicken nuggets with panko. She is a huge chicken nugget fan and it's hard to find her things to eat usually at Japanese places as she isn't a fan of teriyaki chicken. Happy to know she likes this as well as Kani now. I ordered the soba noodles with chicken and vegetables to take out and the dish contained 80% greasy noodles with a smattering of chicken and a little green from an unidentifiable vegetable. The only positive thing to say about this place is that their sushi is decent. Someone else ordered the vegetable teriyaki and got 2 pieces of broccoli and a carrot as their vegetables. No pea pods, bok choy, water chestnuts, onions, peppers, string beans etc. Just miserly portions with lots of oil, filler and hardly any protein or vegetables. Also their prices are sky high and their quality scrapes the bottom of the barrel. Never Again!!!

When I think of hibachi, I think of Benihana, which I feel is not really authentic Japanese but Americanized food. Kind of like Panda Express for Chinese food. So nice!! Omakase means to leave it up to the chef on what to eat and the chef's selections were amazing! Lobster, sweet shrimp, Uni, A5 wagyu, fatty tuna and other delicious selections. We also had a sake they recommended, which went so well with the food. The complimentary dessert was probably my favorite. All in all, a great meal.
