    Cold chips, watered dips

Chilies 51st / Harvard Arrived at lunch time. They were obviously corralling customers into one central location. Packed like sardines. It occurred to me later that about 1/2 the restaurant was shut off. We were seated right in the middle of it. One particular table was so loud we asked to be moved. No problem. Our waitress was nice enough. Hubby ordered a hamburger and bowl of chili. I quickly ordered from the lunch offerings: soup and double cheeseburger slider ( although they don't call it a slider). Well, no. They just haven't changed the menu; they no longer offer the hamburger-- not stocking the "smaller" hamburger patties. So I reordered -- Caesar salad and Bacon, chicken, cheese, Ranch quesadillas. Hubby reported his food was just that: hamburger and chili. Refer to photos of my food. The definition of Caesar salad is torn Romaine, croutons, with a dressing of mustard, oil, Worcestershire, lemon juice, garlic and anchovies. Theirs contained no Romaine. Instead, iceberg & you can see the 2 wilted pieces of Spring mix mine included. The standard bottled Caesar dressing wasn't bad. Fact is, it was the only thing. I couldn't believe all the cold chips that accompanied the quesadillas. There were 5, 6 quesadilla triangles. Simply awful. The bacon was represented in microscopic bits. The cheese was just zapped and hard. I completely forgot it had Ranch until I took apart the last piece, which I resorted to -- just scraping off the interior. The red sauce? Both it and the offered Ranch seemed watered down. To even taste the flavorless salsa I figured out you had to take a fork and strain it. The commercial Caesar dressing was the only thing with any taste. Right after lunch I visited a friend who mentioned her daughter's love of Chili's. My jaw dropped. She said they eat there and get take out often. Her jaw dropped when I showed her my pictures. She said they love the Chili's in Owasso. Hubby later he concurred-- he remembered that store being okay. Then, shock upon shock, I was watching a NYC originated talk show and the subject of Chili's came up! They all said they loved Chili's. Conclusion: don't ditch Chili's, just don't patronize this store.

Chili's is right down the middle and I mean that in a positive way. It's not the best in the world but it's far from the worst in the world and has enough variance in the menu to have something for everyone. The portions and the price point are also good. I ordered curbside pickup and it was ready and brought out on time. The steak was cooked to temperature and the sides were good too which were Mexican rice and black beans.

Went after working out and had great service. The food was just okay and the chicken strips were a weird batter but not bad.

The door girl was rude and spoke to my group with an unnecessary attitude, seemingly just because we were younger. She questioned our valid IDs in a way that felt disrespectful and accusatory, which really set a negative tone before we even got inside. Once we made it in, we approached the front bar where a bartender--who I believe was named Michael based on what others were calling him--completely ignored our group. Instead of acknowledging us, he chose to carry on conversations with others and eventually left the bar altogether without saying a word. Thankfully, we decided to try the back bar, and that completely turned things around. The bartender in the back was wonderful--super attentive, friendly, and helped us pick the best drink options for our group. Her professionalism and great service are what made us decide to stay. However, one final issue stood out: after sitting in the back area for about 20 minutes, we saw the same front bartender, Michael, exit an employees-only room, and as he opened the door, a strong smell of smoke filled the air. It was unpleasant and surprising, especially since we thought Sharky's was a non-smoking establishment. Overall, the night had its ups and downs. Big shoutout to the back bar staff for turning our experience around, but the unprofessionalism at the front definitely left a bad impression.

This feels more like a pls e that's good for destination groups than local neighbor bars. Pro tip Ranch: if you're looking to cut calories order a ranch water from Juan. It's cucumber tequila with seltzer water and a lime. Ask him for a tiny splash of their margarita mix for extra flavor while keeping the calories low.

I really wish I remembered the drink I had the first time around, what I do remember is that it was really good. The drink I had recently was the Don Diego de La Ve & it's something I'd get again + would be my usual. Anything tequila, it's automatic (rum is right there at a very close 2nd) when it comes to an alcohol beverage + cocktail. Has addition of ancho reyes, a chile liqueur, that's super subtle in the drink along with lemon lime & agave. My homie looked at my drink & said that's something he should've ordered. *Side Note* I took a look at the menu & I'm convinced I had the Cousin Eddie (when I first visited this place). As I stated that rum is a close 2nd to tequila & the Cousin Eddie has Bumbu (rum) that I already enjoy on its own.
