The wait wasn't bad for a Sunday. But there were 2 servers, one was being trained. It kinda seemed like neither of them knew what they were doing to be honest. They kept forgetting things. Was here for about 15 min. First 10 minutes was waiting for someone to seat us. Waitress was not dressed very well as her uniform was dirty and stained. She sat us and in the way to the table was a spilt glass of who knows what. Waitress took our order and said they didn't have any beer besides modelo. I love how you have several different kinds of sauces to customize every thing from enchiladas to burritos to Cheychangas. The staff is always great and helpful. If available opt for the patio seating. It has great music, multi colored patio lights at sunset and great atmosphere. If seated inside make sure to take a trip by the homeade tortilla maker. *Disclaimer-I don't like that Tulsa's only options for vegan Tex-Mex are chains but that is the case. That said, Chuy's has quite a few vegan options, for a Tulsa Tex-Mex joint. The wife and I were each very happy with our entrees. I had the veggie enchiladas, sans cheese, with Mexican rice, charro beans, and ranchero sauce. The wife had the guacamole tacos with Mexican rice and refried beans. The waiter knew what vegan meant and assured us that he'd make sure the entrees came out (vegan) as ordered. Chuy's gives out chips and salsa at the beginning of the meal. The chips were thin flour tortilla chips and were warm when they arrived at our table. The salsa was relatively mild but had a refreshing lime forward taste. We ordered a guacamole accompaniment. This was pretty good. Though not the best guacamole I've had, I would order it again and feel fine about it. With so many vegan options to choose from, we will have to return, and we will, happily. read more

Tonight my wife and I met some old friends for dinner, and Chuys was the perfect host. I really enjoyed the inviting staff that greeted us and we quickly were shown to our table. The waiter's name was Jae and he was exceptional. Even without the food this experience would have been a success, but throw in fantastic food and our evening was perfect. I really enjoyed the queso before our meal, and when my Bigger Than Yo Face Burrito came out, I was in heaven. We had a wonderful experience visiting Chuy's today. We got seated right away and our server was very attentive and we could tell if he put his heart into it. Now the food, we tried the items on their pepper rally menu. The pork belly tacos was cooked very well and flavorful. We match it with the spicy New Mexico Martini , which was mixed just right. Pros: I can't believe I've never written a review of this place? I've been going to Chuy's since undergrad. Any time I move to a city and they don't have a Chuy's a get really bummed. How great to live in a city with 2! This location isn't as busy as the other one. We come here when we want to dine in. I typically go to the other one for take out since it's closer to my home. The service here is always great. I love the chips and the jalapeno salsa. Typically get the shrimp tacos, chicken tortilla soup, or anything with hatch green chiles. During happy hour, there's free chips and queso! Accepts credit cards. Plenty of parking. Cons: None I can think of. read more

When Chuy's first came to Tulsa (on 71st), we had some transplanted Texan friends who were ecstatic. They kept going on-and-on about how great Chuy's was. I finally visited the Tulsa Hills restaurant. I was dining solo so I sat at the bar. Unfortunately, I was on my way to a work related event, so I had to drink iced tea. The blackberry margaritas are definitely calling my name for my next visit. I ordered the special of the night, a stuff avocado. I've had this dish one other time (ironically at a different restaurant in Texas). I thought the dish was A-OK. I thought the rice was really good. I was more in love with the jalapeno sauce and the fresh salsa. The only thing that took away from my solo trek was that it seemed like one of the managers and the bar staff was actually conducting an employee meeting behind the bar while the manager offered everyone snacks from a back of chips he brought in in a Kum 'n Go bag. I suspect one of the dishes was made much faster than the other, because it was very cold by the time we got home. There were no updates from anyone on why the food took so long. Very disappointed!
