Chili relleno
Sharon C.

Business was slow today, and so was food poisoning preparation. They had draft beer, but they were out all except Modelo, so we got Modelo. It wasn't cold. Dan got the beef chimichanga with white queso. I got a chili relleno. They were out of raisin sauce, so I chose queso. Dan's chimichanga was dry and my relleno was a bit charred on the bottom. It took over an hour to get out. The server was good. It just took a long time to get our food.

Love Chimi's! Great food, great people. 3 locations that are fun and easy to visit!

Fajita accoutrements

Had a really good Saturday lunch here. Hubby's chicken fajitas were exceptionally good, he said. I got one Sonoran enchilada w/ barracho beans. I quit ordering the Sonoran when they quit dipping the tortilla in red sauce before filling and topping. But today it was really good anyway. There was actually cilantro in the salsa. Our exceptionally pleasant waiter called me a "guacamole thief"; caught me stealing off the fajita platter. It was good, as was the accompanying pico -- fresh, light, tomatoy, oniony. No leftovers! Hubby's fajita platter was licked clean. We must have seemed ducks out of water in south Tulsa, as the waiter asked where we were from. Claimed they don't sell a lot of Sonoran enchiladas. ? The one room that was open was absolutely packed at 1:30.

We have been on search for good mexican food since moving from CA and this place did not disappoint. We got fish tacos and street tacos and the side of grilled veggies and some fried potatoes in enchilada sauce(papitos?) SO perfect!!! Glad i didnt listen to reviews! They were very busy but our waiter was so awesome!! Margaritas are big and tasty we will def be going again.

Couldn't wait to dig in lol... steak fajitas and white queso, chips and salsa :)

I ordered Chimi's because I found a great promo through Uber Eats. I got fajitas for one and a large white queso. I have to say, after just moving and working all weekend, this hit the spot! It was great, absolutely no complaints. Portions are huge and I'll be eating like a queen tomorrow too :) thanks Chimi's!

Food was terrible and the presentation was awful. The menu was super deceiving. Our server was very rude and short with us. I won't be back!

Food isn't very flavorful. $8.95 for 2 plain tacos al la carte. I wouldn't recommend. I wouldn't go back. Very disappointed.

Dos Panchos Tequila Bar & Mexican Grill

I'm surprised to see that this place is listed on here as permanently closed? I eaten here recently…read morewith my family, party of 6. There's a parking lot in this plaza, and we were seated immediately upon arrival. They offered complementary chips and dips (salsa and queso). We ordered additional guac. The chorizo queso is sooooo good! I ordered the birria taco plate and I'd say this is very authentic compared to food back home (California)! They were generous with the birria and the consome is chefs kiss!!! The staff did a wonderful job in assuring our needs were met and that we were satisfied. I hope this place is just renovating and hopefully will reopen in the foreseeable future. I would love to see this place continue to thrive!

Doing four stars for the food. I would do 3.5 for staff. :(…read more I loved the salsa (fresh and spicy) and the complementary queso like dip. I loved the shredded beef enchilada! Really good and would order again. Rice and beans were probably above average. My dining partner asked how the chile relleno was prepared. (He doesn't like the eggy batter.) We were literally told that it came premade and frozen and was "just fried." Obviously, he ordered the street tacos instead. We sat at the bar and it took a bit to get waited on but the manager jumped in and gave us water and silverware. I liked my Blackberry-Rosemary Marg but I honestly didn't feel like it had much tequila in it. The regular marg was just OK. Since it is a tequila bar and we sat at the bar, I would have liked to have discussed tequilas but my bad for not asking. Would have loved to have done a tasting. The menu was informative. I would go back when in south Tulsa. Not sure I would make it a destination. (Well, maybe. Those enchiladas were good! It is a cute place.

Even though the website suggests…read morereservations, we called to check if they accepted walk-ins, which they did so that's good to know that both options are available. As what was stated over the phone, the moment we walked in, we were seated. The place is very intimate in space, I'd recommend for dates. I went with the Enchiladas, something I've been craving for a couple of months & La Tertulia helped that fix. There were a few meats to choose from & I went with chorizo. The wait on the food wasn't long (people were starting to fill in as well & it didn't stop the servers from being on point) & the food was really good. Coming in with 3 enchiladas, stuffed with the chorizo & the fixins, I was left full after I finished. The spanish rice & pinto beans were good as well, paired good with the enchiladas. The chorizo looked more like breakfast sausage more than the chorizo that's more on the dark brown + reddish tint I'm used too. The enchiladas also come with chiles (I picked green) & plenty of cheese. Side Note: Chips & salsa were also super good, my favorite type of salsa. Kinda like a Taquera/Molcajete style. I was so hungry that the chips & salsa didn't slow me down from running through my main entree.

It's well-worn but clean. Staff is quick and friendly. The prices are very reasonable. You'll leave full, but not bloated. I've been a fan of El Rio Verde for many years and always look forward to eating here. It's not a large place and only has perhaps four or five booths and a half-dozen tables, and it fills up fast at lunch. They're known for their "Wet Burrito," but the enchiladas and burritos are also outstanding. The refried beans are fresh and made in-house. The salsa is freshly made too and very good, but not memorable like the food. You'll see people from all walks of life eating here - couples, single moms with children, police officers, business people, blue collar workers, and everyone in-between. If you want really good Mexican food that is not TexMex or from a chain restaurant, try this place! You won't regret it! One of my favorite places in Tulsa. However, as of this review, be aware that Utica Avenue, just east of the restaurant, has been blocked to north-bound traffic only for water main replacement, so getting into the neighborhood is easier than leaving. Plan to go toward downtown on the service road next to I-244 for most efficient egress.

The normal salsa that is brought out is good, but if you get the spicy salsa... now that is memorable in more ways than way with flavor and spice. Of course we got the queso and honestly this was probably one of my favorite white queso's I have had in a long time....and I get queso pretty much every Mexican spot. I ordered the vampiros and a normal crispy taco... it was awesome!!! Service was good and honestly I didn't have any complaints. The prices are on point and you're going to have a great meal for a great price. Go check it out!!!
