This is a wonderful restaurant, but be prepared for a crowd. It gets quite busy, even on "slow" days. And it would be expected because the food is good and the service is excellent. Idk how these folks stay in biz with the amount of food they give you! The service is also impeccable. Love the ambiance as it is quite cozy in here - however the real star and the reason we keep coming back is the fajitas for two! Just check out that mountain of food on that sizzling skillet (I don't know if it does sizzle as I almost always blackout upon thee foods arrival) insert drool emoji. And what is even more crazy is we always have left overs. My only complaint is the guac was small and wasn't worth the almost 10 dollars but other than that this will be a weekly staple for us. read more

But through Casa Tequila, everything is possible. The lunch entrees at Casa Tequila come in huge portion that I would end up eating it for both lunch and dinner. This is what I did for the chimichanga lunch, the tequila bowl lunch, Pollo El Queso lunch. All these lunch entrees are delicious, with the Tequila bowl lunch being my favorite because it has rice, black beans, and grilled chicken. Lunch entrees also come with chips and salsa that to go order comes in a big paper bag. They really give you so much food that it's impossible for one person to finish it all in one sitting, making it of the most valued restaurants. read more

Dan and I got steak lunch fajitas. The tortillas were the best part, and possibly the only good part of the meal. They appeared to be homemade and were extremely good. An inadequate serving of fajita meat came on a huge plate of onions, green and orange bell pepper, and tomatoes. The steak lacked flavor and the vegetables tasted like stewed vegetables. I think that's because the tomato added liquid. The guacamole and sour cream were served on a large bed of lettuce. The inadequate portions of guacamole and sour cream were served on a large plate of shredded lettuce. Both the guac and sour cream had a very thin consistency and sank into the lettuce. The servers worked very hard, especially the runners, who did literally run much of the time. I don't know how they keep going at that pace. It was entertaining watching the runners carry multiple plates lined up on their arms from wrist to shoulder. I don't know how they do it without dropping dishes. They are quite skilled. We had trouble getting what we needed because of their division of labor. The runner forgot the tortillas and plates and we had trouble getting someone's attention. As soon as we were able to get attention, they brought our plates and tortillas quickly. The restaurant is elaborately decorated. I would describe the ambiance as busy rather than relaxing. That's because of the runners having to hurry so fast. I tend to prefer a relaxing atmosphere when I dine. Casa Tequila charges for credit cards. I understand that restaurants are charged by the credit card companies and they have to pass the cost on to their customers, but we've become accustomed to restaurants rolling that expense into their prices. It's inconvenient to pay cash at restaurants. We seldom carry cash, any more, and it's more difficult to leave the exact amount we want to tip. Obviously, it's difficult for the restaurant to make correct change, too. The server just rounded our change to the dollar and didn't give us our coin change. It wasn't enough for it to be worth our time asking for the coins. We could pay the credit card fee. The fee was actually less than what it cost us having to leave a higher tip because we didn't have the right change and not getting all our change back. We could pay the fee, but we tend to just avoid restaurants that charge credit card fees. read more

My boyfriend and I have been here several times over the last 3-4 months. The hosts, servers, and food runners are always very polite. The margaritas are STRONG! Most recently we came Saturday November 10, 2024. He ordered the Filete De Pescado and I had the Super Nachos with the meat to the side. The nachos first came out with meat on them. So we had to send it back. When it came out the second time they gave me the wrong meat. I asked for chicken instead of steak. But it didn't matter really. I wasn't going to eat it but give it to my boyfriend's dogs. They don't take money off for not having meat in a dish so that's why I got it to the side. The nachos were good. Very basic but it's what I wanted. My boyfriend enjoyed his Filete De Pescado and let me have some of his fish. It was delicious! I'm not a scallop fan or else I would have ordered what he got, I think next time I'll just order the Filete De Pescado and not eat the scallops that come with it. Everything was delicious and came out hot. Again, the staff were very friendly and I have no complaints. The atmosphere was calm and they didn't have the music blaring which I can find a little abrasive something in Mexican restaurants but the keep it a good level here. Food - The food here was really good. I tried the chicken tortilla soup and enjoyed the inclusion of avocado chunks in this dish. The chips & guac my mom and I shared tasted good too, and I didn't even get tired of avocado by my entree. My mom also let me try some of her chicken fajitas, which made for good "leftovers". Service - Food got out to the table very quickly. It looked like the restaurant may have had designated food runners, at least on that particular night, to help expedite the process. Everything was so good!! I'd definitely go back!!! The chimichanga is amazing!! I was too full to try the sopapillas but based on how amazing the tortilla on the chimichanga was I just know it's worth another trip SOON!! Well this is sad review and a goodbye to write. After 4 years of weekly visits (often times several times a week) I celebrated my birthday yesterday with my friends and family. This is after years of family birthdays and large parties. We have always enjoyed the staff and manager. Especially Gustavo! The thing that was so disappointing was getting an auto gratuity and no one ever mentioning it. We have always over tipped and always happy to do so. It got me thinking about all the times we had dinner there and got served a gratuity and never knew it. In fact we took friends there last week and it was 300 for 6 people and it seemed a little high and we didn't even questioned it and tipped over 60 on the total. I do have a good mind to have the owners pull all of my checks over the last 4 years and see how many auto gratuities were added without my noticing. Just super frustrating that we over tipped and were such loyal customers. It's not that I mind being auto gratted for large parties, I just think someone should let me know and then I can decide how much xtra I would like to leave! Good luck casa. Do better in the future. We had not been to this restaurant in some time and decided to give it another try with a large party. The service was attentive, but there was a major language barrier that made ordering difficult. I felt sorry for the server, as he was trying his best to understand our elementary Spanish speaking skills. He sought the manager to assist with our order and we thought our order was correct. Once the food came out our order was wrong and we had limited time to have it corrected. The food was decent, but we were not overly impressed considering 3/6 courses were not what we ordered. Dine-in customers were decently spaced out. Takeout is easy to order via phone, and the pickup was quick and pretty much ready when we got there! I recently realized that it had been a LONG time since I'd had some good chile verde (I'm slacking!). Once I realized that, I knew I had to get some.... And Casa Tequila is just the place for it! As mentioned in my previous reviews of this place, I think their chile verde is great (reminder to make sure you are ordering it from the lunch menu - it's available any time, but you won't find it on the dinner menu). This time it was tasty as usual, tender, juicy, and a good amount of verde sauce. The only thing I noticed was that there seemed to be more fat on the pork than normal, but I was able to pick off what I didn't want. We also tried some queso for fun, and it was also good. It's that classic cheesy-cheese kind of queso... no heat. The small order of the queso was enough for about 3 people to share, but if you have more than 4 people I might go up to a large. The last thing to mention from my last visit here are the tortillas (which, along with rice and beans, come with the chile verde). They just stood out to me in a good way, and they hadn't necessarily before. Maybe it's because if I'm asked, I usually order corn, but I wasn't asked, and so I got the flour tortilla default this time instead. Steak lunch meal- delicious meat! Well cook! The cheese on top was delicious. If you like grease in your steak, this is the one. The rice was on point and a lot of flavors mixed together. The best part of all of these was the beans. It had pieces of meat and it was like a soup! Mix it with the rice and you have the perfect combo. The chips and salsas were fresh. Thick salsa. Try the queso- best queso I've ever tried in recent Mexicans restaurant. Must try it! The service was fast and were very nice. The place is brand new and I loved the chairs! This place is our go to Mexican restaurant in town and we've tried at least 20 others. Always consistently great experience & food. My wife always gets the Chile Verde cause it's amazing. You always take a risk when you try a new place to eat. Sometimes just sometimes you find sometimes you find someplace really good. Casa Tequila is quite possibly the best Mexican restaurant in Tulsa. The food smelled good in the parking lot. The service inside was expert level. If the Queso is an indicator of the quality of a Mexican place theirs supports that theory. I ordered the lunch fajitas with a lot of omissions and they got it right. The rice was fluffy not undercooked. The beans very tasty. I was surprised the prices were fairly affordable. I whole heartedly recommend Casa Tequila. Excellent service and Excellent Mexican cuisine. This is still, essentially the excellent El Tequila restaurant. I believe there has been a little change in ownership, some remodeling has been done and a new name on the door. If you had not been here before, it is an enormous restaurant and enormously popular, especially on the weekend. And there is a good reason for it. The food and service is some of the very best in Tulsa. It is sufficiently and professionally staffed to handle the crowds. My wife and I had a Sunday lunch here in November of 2016. The food and service was a five star then and it was even better today. Their staff is some of the best. We were lucky to get a very nice young lady by the name of Ana. She is super nice, friendly and has a smile that will brighten your day. Sometime the staff's attitude can make or break your dining experience regardless of the quality of the food. Our food was excellent and the quality of the service a bonus. We were there a 2 PM and it was packed. There were several large family groups here today celebrating a member's birthday. There was only one open both left. We had chips, salsa and drinks promptly and the food was served sooner than I would have expected from a restaurant of this size. Our meals were the Enchiladas Verde (three big chicken filled enchiladas covered with their tomatillo chili) and the Enchiladas Poblanos (three cheese enchiladas covered with shredded chicken and their mole sauce). The food was excellent, so I won't drag out the descriptions any more than that. The plates were big and we left with lunch in a go box for tomorrow. Beginning of dinner hour. Short wait, again, at hostess station. Taken to a booth along the wall & shortly another couple was sat in booth in front of us. Scattered customers around restaurant. Brought chips,salsa, I ordered a margarita. déjà vu: no napkins, silverware. Time passes. And passed. I get the margarita. Then the later sat couple was waited on! I didn't take notes that night I was so put out. The short of it, between 3 waiters, was "Your waiter went to the bathroom & the waiter he asked to cover for him, didn't. ". Over & over and each time , and then some, told my $4 margarita had been comped! Well, whoopdeedo. And I really didn't want to hear about his bathroom trips. Would you? So after 2 attempts, dirty table, no silverware, absent waiter, not particularly interesting food, but primarily lacking concern by personnel, we're done. I once said, "Your staff should look at the table before they seat customers; is it clean? Is there silverware?" Obviously this isn't happening. Thanks to our sister, this restaurant has become one of our favorite Mexican & Tex-Mex places to eat! I would say that if we want Mexican food (which is the drive across town) we head over instead of going somewhere close. They have recently updated their name, their décor, and their servers uniforms. Now there is a very contemporary bar with large TV when you first walk in, spacious seating can accommodate a lot of diners, from parties of two all the way up to parties of 12 or more. Three distinct dining areas, including the interior water fountain, helps relax dinners as we sip on everything from fresh iced tea, or water with lemons, to margaritas, and of course my favorite Modelo Éspecial! Whenever we go, we now must order a side of the homemade guacamole. We can get the small bowl or the large bowl, depending on how hungry we are and how many people are in our group. We now prefer to take our out-of-town visitors and family there if they ever stop by. We have yet to eat something there that we would not order again. Currently I'm gonna into the Salsa Verde with pork tips. Ron likes the chile relleno. I like their enchiladas, and we've had all their different versions of fajitas. There is a special fajita mix that combines chorizo with chicken and beef & I think shrimp -- so it's enough to feed two hungry people and maybe three or four if you also want to share other entrées or appetizers. The staff are super friendly, they love to sing happy birthday as they did to our Pops for his "28th". Clientele are diverse and that makes me feel better knowing all Tulsans are comfortable. Listen, when we walked in, my hubby and I didn't know what to expect and were immediately seated. As I looked around this restaurant the ambiance was very nice since, we were first time visitor. Our waiter came to our table right after being seated with chips and salsa in hand. He asked what would like to drink, we said 2 waters which, he brought straight to our table. Our waiter didn't miss a beat, as I noticed he was serving several tables but, was very attentive to our needs. As we were giving time to look over our menus, he then approached asking if we were ready to order. My husband order the (Casa Tequila Steak) and I ordered the (Mixed Fajita). We then ordered some Queso Dip from the Appetizers which, came out hot and also very good and a frozen Mango Margarita. Now, I'm not a drinker but, since it was my birthday, I thought I should engage. Now, at this time I'm eating chips, salsa & queso dip while still drinking this good Mango of a margarita, that they didn't skip on the liquor what so ever. Now, the time has come, our food arrived!!!!!! Fam, by our surprise, this was not Tex-Mex, this was some real favored Authentic Mexican food. Listen, the favors that were in this food, was truly amazing!!! My mixed fajita's was served with chicken/steak, onion/bell peppers, fresh tomatoes that packed a favor punch. The rice was probably the best I've ever had. The only draw back was, although they served a lot of food, they only bought me out (2) flour tortillas instead of 3. Stopped in for lunch with my wife! Very nice atmosphere when entering. Lots of friendly help and service from the time we got in the door until we left. My wife had brisket tacos and I had the Steak Don Julio. The brisket tacos had plenty of meat, but had a hint of clove spice to the flavor. I'm not a fan of clove, but my wife loved them. The Steak I had was cooked perfectly and smothered in sweet onions, mushrooms, and cheese. It was delicious and priced very reasonably. Will definitely be back! read more

The two stars is for the long wait and dismissive service on Sunday, 3/5/23. We were a party of two. Our drinks arrived quickly. We placed our order and after an hour of being told that our food is coming up (multiple times), we decided to leave. I requested the cheque. The waitress said she was going to check on the food (again) then she called the manager over. Magically, when the manager came to the table, the food was finally ready. Interesting how quickly the food was ready when we were about to cancel the order. No apology from the manager. No type of attempt to retain us as customers. Only the response: "we're busy". I've been there on a Saturday night when they were twice as busy with a line waiting and NEVER have I ever received this type of treatment. I will certainly not be back and, perhaps, that's the establishment's intended outcome. read more
