Disclaimer: we ordered through Grubhub for delivery. Have never dined in, and this is the first time we've had anything from this restaurant. I am a Tejana who learned to cook most of these dishes at my mama's side. There must not be a single person employed there who knows how to cook Tex-Mex, which is essentially what we ordered. Salsa: too much oregano, no bite, not in the slightest piquante. Very disappointing. Salsa from a jar tastes better. Fajitas Texanas beef, chicken, shrimp with green bell peppers and onions : the only thing that tasted good Tortillas: arrived warm, but undercooked Rice: bland and pale but moist Refried beans: okay, but topped with too much cheese for my taste Guacamole: I suspect they added mayonnaise, extremely bland, very disappointing. Glad I did not order a side portion at $8.00 (Grubhub price). Chile Verde dinner: large chunks of fatty pork in bland, canned tomatillo sauce. They didn't even try to doctor up the sauce, and it was just poured over the pork. The pork is supposed to cook simmer in the sauce after it's been browned. This is not even a distant cousin to the real thing which uses real Anaheim or Hatch chiles, onions and is very savory. Luckily, my husband who is from the northern tier where spicy means salt and pepper thinks the pork tastes good. I was going to chuck the whole thing out. This was our first time here. We came on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. For us, the food was average but the service was below average. With so many other Mexican choices in the area, we will not come back here. My husband ordered the chicken nachos. The flavor was good. But he ordered extra jalapeños on the side. When the nachos came there were jalapenos baked in. When he asked about the extra, he was told they were baked in and they don't normally come with them. When we got the bill we saw that we were charged an extra $2 for them but were never told. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and a ground beef enchilada. The quesadilla was very good. The enchilada wasn't very flavorful. I had cilantro rice which was very good and guacamole which was average. The reason we gave a 2 rating instead of 3 is for the service. Our waiter did not offer to refill my husband's drink until we were done. He never brought a couple of other things we asked for like lemon for the water and a refill on salsa. A good rule of thumb for safely eating Mexican food in Broken Arrow Oklahoma is "DON'T EAT MEXICAN FOOD IN BROKEN ARROW, OKLAHOMA!" If you will look at the current Yelp rated "Top Ten" Mexican restaurants in Broken Arrow you will only find one with a current displayed Yelp health score above 50, most came in, in the 40's. In my opinion any Yelp rating below 60 is unacceptable. So, what about Casa Tequila? As of today, Yelp does not have a health score rating posted. I went to the Tulsa Health Dept. website and pulled up the last inspection report. I am not sure what score rating Yelp would give the restaurant (when they do), but from what I read in the actual inspection I was not real uncomfortable with dining there. I really hope they will do good. Broken Arrow needs a Mexican restaurant with a clean kitchen and a manager that cares about the safety of his customers. Casa Tequila... The restaurant is clean spacious and nicely decorated. We were promptly greeted and seated with good separation from other customers. Our waitress, Jennifer was friendly and very attentive. Meal starts with the typical chips and salsa. Both fresh and good. They do have hotter salsa. We had the Steak and Cheese Burrito and the Enchiladas Verdes. I tried this for the first time and the food was very good. The chips however I cannot eat because they had a spicy seasoning on them and it made them impossible for me to eat. This also was good but I could really enjoy my favorite part of the Mexican restaurant because they put the seasoning on our chips. We've been wanting to try this new Broken Arrow Mexican restaurant and we were totally shocked at how affordable it was. Lunch was incredibly good. I had steak, shrimp and chicken and my husband had a steak our total bill with tip was under $30. Chips and salsa was good. The staff was fantastic and friendly. I have to come to bat for this new Mexican restaurant in broken Arrow on Hillside Drive, which is a phenomenal location. The service was absolutely top-notch. Our server, and our host, were on point with drink refills, greetings, and wrapup. The space wide and open. The food was fast and fantastic. I was expecting it to be way more expensive. It had a great selection of items and the portions are big! The chips weren't my favorite. They were really thick and hard to chew and had a weird seasoning on them. The salsa was good though and I liked how they brought each of us our own bowl of salsa! I ordered the fajitas which came with a lot of chicken and veggies! It was good but the chicken could have used a bit more spice. The rice was so good! My son got a rice bowl with steak and he loved it! He normally eats a lot and had leftovers so that says a lot about the portion size. You can tell by the picture there is plenty of food on the platter and I like that they included grilled tomatoes onions and peppers. The chips are on the thicker side with a chili and lime seasoning on them. My husband ordered a burrito that he enjoyed very much. I ordered the seafood burrito. It was covered in cheese sauce topped with beacon and avocado slices. The inside was filled with shrimp and bay scallops (small ones), sFajitaspinach, onion and roasted tomatoes. I originally was going to eat at olive garden, but they apparently had a leak and were not open. So my wife and I decided to give casa tequila a try instead. It was a nice and friendly atmosphere, however the music did seem a little too loud. The establishment looked cleaned and well maintained inside. The staff quickly seated us and brought chips n salsa that were warm n fresh. I ordered fish tacos and my wife ordered beef enchiladas. The fish tacos were on par. Very good, freshly made, even the tortilla shells were warm the tacos melted in my mouth after each bite and had a slight hint of lime, which hit my taste buds at the right moment. I had the taco salad and it was full of meat and the rest ,,, didn't have a slice of avocado, which I ordered separately. Also, it would be a bit better with a Catalina dressing , but had ranch or blue cheese , which was okay. It can get noisy in the large room but they can easily put tables together for large groups. If you are vegan/vegetarian be aware. There are no options for vegans and vegetarians. All the rice, beans, and apparently almost everything else is made with lard. The staff isn't intelligent when it comes to knowing what vegan even is.Its 2023 you only need 2 brain cells to know what vegan is. I ate here 6 months for atleast once a week and nobody ever told us it had lard in it, and it's nowhere to be said in the menu. We've had multiple conversations with different staff about us being vegan yet no one bothered to tell us we were eating lard the whole time until 6 months later. Even crazier I called the restaurant before we ever even ate here and they told us the Refried beans and rice specifically are vegan but not the black beans. Irresponsible af. Farewell. We started frequenting this restaurant when it opened. Food was fresh, wait staff was the best. Top notch, friendly, professional service. Over the past 20+ occasions we have noticed things beginning to slide. So distinctly it appears to have suffered a management change. The wait staff began to change with sluggish service, waiters more conscious of spending time with female customers, once a waiter was talking and joking with 3 females while hold our queso for over 4 minutes while it got cold. Over the last four visits we pledged not to return, but our memories of the great beginnings we gave them another chance. Each take out order was always missing something or wrong items. Today was the final straw. Ordered Texcan fajitas (steak, chicken, & shrimp). Are you ready? They served the shrimp with the tails on ‍. Do you really expect customers to separate the tails when served as a fajita dish? ‍. Now to top it off, chips were cold, like refrigerator cold.
