I was a little skeptical coming in after reading some reviews, but we ended up going for a work birthday lunch and I'm glad we did. We were a group of 9 and got seated quickly, and the service was great the whole time. They brought out complimentary chips and salsa, and we ordered queso for the table. It wasn't the best queso ever, but definitely worth it for a group. We also ordered a spicier salsa that was actually really good. Most of us got burritos and everyone loved them. I ordered the steak mambo and it was a HUGE plate. It came with enchiladas, steak, shrimp, and rice. I saved the enchiladas for later but everything was delicious. The music was such a vibe too, I was singing along to almost every song. Super nostalgic for me. I'd recommend checking it out if you're in BA. read more

I decided I wanna get takeout and I did the build your own combo. I'm still not sure the difference between my burrito and my beef enchilada. They looked exactly the same and tasted the same, but were good. I also had a cheese enchilada and then some rice everything was good came with chips and salsa. However, I definitely needed more salsa. They only gave me a small deal of salsa. I will say the food was a bit dry so I had to add a lot of salsa to the food and therefore didn't have it left for my chips but overall it was good and not bad for the price. read more

Mr Mambo Restaurant & Cantina - Steak Mambo - Mexican Near Me - Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

Server She did not say her name, but she was quite attentive, filled our water without having to chase her down. But, did not understand us very well. Ambiance Its an American Mexican restaurant Food The chips were NOT hot or even warm, the salsa did NOT have a lot of flavor. The chicken rice plate was okay. Not great. The chicken did have a good taste, but was drowning in the cheese sauce which did not taste good. The rice had no flavor. The corn tortillas were good. The chicken spinach plate was good, but, didn't follow directions. There was too much salt in the dish and spinach tasted like a spinach dip. The rice had no flavor. The sampler was good but the steak was tough. Overall Not very good. Considering all the reviews reporting the opposite. Its a nice atmosphere, but average to below average food. Disappointing. THEY OVER CHARGED US, THEN ARGUED WITH ME!!!! Any customer here, needs to pay attention to their checks i think this place will try to gouge you if they can get away with it. Military read more

Holy cow. The chips and salsa are epic. The salads and tacos are to die for. I just keep coming back.

I always go with my mom and split the mambos #5 fajitas (single). It's a ton of food and it's really good. And the margaritas are great, strong, and great priced! read more

The sauce on my street tacos was mostly mayo. The meat was dry. The best thing I ordered was water and rice. Waiter never refilled our drinks that were empty half way through our meal. My husband said his chimichanga was just okay. He wouldn't try my tacos after seeing them and the look on my face. read more

On a Saturday evening (May 4th, 2024) around 6pm, I stopped by this restaurant with 6 others while celebrating my cousin's birthday. We just finished the escape room / axe-throwing venue across the street. Apparently, this restaurant has been on her list to visit so we all figured why not. It was a good weather day but surprisingly the restaurant wasn't as busy as I would've expected. The interior was spacious and there were plenty of staff members available. I liked the upscale appeal of the interior - the tables were made of a marble-type surface with wooden edging, the chairs were fashionable yet comfortable, and there was great lighting throughout. It was windy so we decided to sit inside. Also, the staff were all dressed etiquette, all black presentation (which is something that many industries have done away with). We were sat toward the front, the hosts and server(s) added a table to one of the booths to seat us all. The service was immediate. As we sat, the server handed out waters and menus for the table while asking if we wanted drinks. As we browsed the large menu, we were nowhere near close to ordering but he checked back with us a couple of times until we ordered drinks. I ordered a large frozen mango margarita while three others ordered 3 similar drinks. After we finished scaling the menu, I initially wanted the Steak Don Jose but someone else ordered before me (and I'm a fan of trying different things) so I ended up asking for the Quesedilla Azteca, one with chicken and one with ground beef. When the food arrived, everything instantly looked fantastic. The plates themselves were huge and each had "devour me" written all over them. To my surprise, the two quesedillas were enormous, taking up most of the entire plate. They were barely closed as they were stuffed with cheese and meat then smothered with more cheese. Each bite was instantly satiating, filling me up but still wanting more. As much as I tried finishing both, I had to ask a to-go box for the rest. By the end, everyone was stuffed. The service was very consistent! When we were done, to-go boxes were brought as plates were being picked up. Though we were a party of 7, the checks were divided appropriately with no issue. I'm not normally in Broken Arrow but I was overwhelmed with joy that I was able to eat at Mr. Mambo's while I was there. The service was very attentive from start to finish. The drink was generous, almost never-ending. Great ambiance as well! But the food really is what you want from a Mexican restaurant. The portion size does not compromise the quality. I would enjoy visiting during sundown next time. I would highly recommend this establishment for a stop-in, with a friend or family, lunch or dinner. read more

This is my husband and I's go to Mexican spot because of the margaritas and the proximity to our house. We are probably here at least once a week. The blue margarita is my favorite margarita anywhere and is consistently strong and delicious. Service is quick, and food is consistent. Love their queso! read more

I went to Mr. Mambos during the week a little after eight. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere. There weren't very many people there because it was late. Service was EXTREMELY slow. I ordered the chimichanga. Not impressed. The rice was lumpy and sticky, No flavor. My daughter ordered the street tacos and she enjoyed those but overall, I will not ever go back. We were there for over an hour in an empty restaurant eating below average food. Bill for these 2 dishes, queso, and water was $32. read more

Mr Mambo Restaurant & Cantina - a bowl of tomato soup - Mexican Near Me - Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

I drained an entire salsa bowl amount of water from my salad plate. I got the Shrimp salad and it was so soggy. My husbands nachos were cold and greasy. Server was attentive. Due to quality of food, we will not go back. read more

Today's container of salsa was less than 1/2 the size of what we were receiving earlier in the year... which, in turn, was only half the size of what Mambo was providing in their takeout bags 3 or 4 years ago. It's just gotten ridiculous. I like to spread the salsa on my enchiladas, beans, and rice. There was barely enough in this itty bitty container for that, let alone any for a second person or to eat with chips. read more

Mr Mambo Restaurant & Cantina - Maybe 2 fluid ounces of salsa for two dinners? Ridiculous! Mambo used to give 12 oz foam cups of salsa! - Mexican Near Me - Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

There are many Mexican food options in Broken Arrow, but this spot is just so easy to get from my neighborhood! It does sit on the busy corner of 101st and Elm which makes it super easy to get to really for anybody. So, the restaurant itself! From the outside it looks super cool and inviting. Given it's location it's kind of a good idea to do that! When you come inside though it looks a little dank and in need of some updates and repairs. It happens sometimes with local spots though right? The service I have had here is always spot on with the staff being friendly and attentive. On my last visit my server never let me run out of sweet tea and I was so thirsty that day but it kept on coming! I like that! The food options here are what you'd expect to find in Oklahoma. The food is always on super HOT plates (as expected) and it's yummy. Overall no complaints from me other than it could be nicer on the inside but it's not bad enough to keep me away. read more

we were dining this evening when the power went out. We remained seated for an hour hoping the power would come back on while eating our food. We had finished our meal and our waiter asked if we had cash. unfortunately we did not. He sent the manager over he requested we place our card information on paper. I truly did not feel comfortable doing that and he then became snarky and nasty to us practically dismissing us. We were loyal customers until that unruly service. Do not recommend. read more

Overcharging my card for additional tip means I won't be back. Food means nothing at this point. I've had this happen in Broken Arrow on more than one occasion and at this point it takes less time and effort to just leave a bad review. Pay attention and do better! read more

My favorite guacamole & the best chicken tortilla soup!! Refresh on exterior has improved your presence at 101st & Elm. However, please clean your interior. Do a deep clean. Windows & wall decor is covered in a layer of dust. Take a hard look at floor, menus and all interior presentations. Remove dead plants from patio. I hope to return and enjoy the meal without seeing dust and dirt on the surfaces. read more

Clean friendly atmosphere. Chips were very good. I do not know for sure but they taste like local made or hi end chips either way. Same with the salsa. Very good. We both ordered burritos and the tortillas were also fresh and good tasting. To me they actually tasted creamy! They were good. We both enjoyed the meal. The Big Mambo is the real deal. Basically a fajita in a burrito with three different sauces. Verda queso and red sauces. My wife like the Verda best as she always does. I had trouble deciding so I had the burrito mixtos. Also very good. Can you say Food Coma? Service was very good and personal. Overall a great place. Will return when in the 101st & Elm area. read more

This is a good Mexican restaurant. Nice decor and good staff. Food is always good and so is the service.

I'm sorry to leave an unfavorable review. I have tried this establishment several times in hopes that my opinion would change based on several recommendations and the high reviews. However, simply put, it's just not good. One of my visits I even got sick after eating a meal. read more

Another favorite Mexican. We share the pablano dinner (it's quite large). The prices are great and always have great service!

We used to eat here a lot and it was really good. Not anymore, the steak tacos have so much fat, the chips are stale, the adult drinks seem to be watered down and the staff is really slow even when they aren't busy. I will not be eating here anymore! read more

Probably the worst food I've had in ages. Should have read reviews first but in area and thought I'd try. Nice appearance inside and waitperson friendly. Not very busy and I was about to walk out adult waiting for food forever. Ordered the sampler to try a few items. Guacamole dark / mostly onions and not a single dish was good. Meats chicken tough/ steak I taco couldn't even Would never go back. read more

Bleh, the food here is typical to what you find in Oklahoma. We're from California and good Mexican food is everywhere!! Our experience included; Watery salsa, sugary margaritas and the disgusting (Velveeta) Queso that's offered everywhere in this state. This is the 4th place we've tried and all have been disappointing. read more

Great food and service. We're always greeted with a smile. The restaurant is clean and well lighted.

The food is good however the service SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS! I cannot begin to express how bad the service sucks. Hell refreeze over before they will wait on you. read more

The 3 stars are for the skinny margaritas and the service. The queso with chorizo was very good as well! But the food is not. I ordered the carne asada and it was dry and had no flavor. The beans had no flavor but the rice was okay. If you're Mexican do not eat here lol. This restaurant is for people that don't know what Mexican food is supposed to taste like. Just a warning for people that don't like bland food. read more

Reviewed April 1, 2018 Health Score 53 out of 100 A favorite of the locals! I have been driving by this place for 3 years. The parking lot is usually full at noon and for dinner. The restaurant is not bad, but it is certainly not a wow! If you go here stick with the basics (tacos, enchiladas, burritos.) I tried the pollo con queso. The chicken had too much seasoning and salt to be really good. The service was very good. The prices are reasonable. My wife had the Fresh Bowl with the beef. It was OK. Judging from what I saw the other diners order their bar must crank out some decent margaritas. Note: This review was originally posted on Tripadvisor by Spike S. read more

Great food! Great vibe! The outside patio is just relaxing! The drinks are good! There are days the food is great and other days is okay! Maybe that's why they don't have a high review! But salsa and chips are fresh!!! The carne is juice! Try it out! read more

Sept 2019. Great service. Pretty standard for Tex mex. Portions were large. Chis and salsa were good and we ordered some extra hot salsa and unlike many Mexican restaurants, the "hot" salsa was not only hot BUT had. A great flavor also. read more

Our family loves this restaurant!!! I order the Special Dinner and it can't be beat. Two large platters of deliciousness. One platter has an enchilada, a chile relleno, a tamale, a burrito and lots of white queso. The other platter contains a crispy taco, a chalupa and beans, rice and sour cream and guacamole. You will need a go box and will be eating several yummy meals. Needless to say, the Margaritas are exceptional. read more

I enjoyed a nice evening meal with my wife and stepdaughter. Our server Anna was quite pleasant and efficient. We really appreciated her skill as a waitress. The sirloin on the menu was very tender and juicy. The taco meat was seasoned just about right. The chicken on my tostada was pleasantly seasoned with a mild but flavorful spice level. Crispy chips and the mild white queso tempted our palates before the main course was set by our attentive waitress. The atmosphere was pleasant with a mild festive overtone. read more

Poor service both times we were there. 1st time appetizer came out after food and not once was our glasses refilled. 2nd time 5 of our 6 meals were delivered and after asking 3 people the 6th meal was delivered. 6th meal was supposed to have left off shrimp due to allergy which I said. It was brought with shrimp. They took it back scrapped most shrimp off recovered it with onio s mushrooms and cheese and brought back to me. Took a bite of shrimp and had to take benadryl immediately to keep from going to hospital. I repeated multiple times I was allergic. read more

Love this place. It hard to eat at other Mexican places without comparing it to this joint, however today the salsa was Spicier than it has been. I love spicy things, but if it is t broke don't fix it. I love the chapala special is what the old Menu said but new menu said chapas. Steak, shrimp and chicken over Cheese sauce is amazing and it comes with homemade Tortillas. The quesadilla Tampico is another personal favorite If you in Broken Arrow and want Mexican food. Food is good. Staff is great. We have come here regularly for several years. However, they switched music a couple of weeks ago, it is the volume and selection of a nightclub, not a restaurant.
