food i ordered a jamaica drink, that also came with chips & salsa for the table. though the greeter sold the soft drink options really well, out of the soft drinks, horchata, and jamaica listed as options, the jamaica was closest to agua fresca, as i'd went to the restaurant looking to taste, and is consistently a favorite among the mexican flavors i've tried, and as a standalone among that category of drink options at the restaurant, the drink i'd tasted did not disappoint, strong but not overpowering in flavor, so much as to seep subtly but recognizably into the ice, which made for some satifying crunching. and not to forget the chips, that were warm and crunchy too, and while i'd not tried the salsa, it came in a charming glass bottle i loved, as you can see in the picture below where i'd left the broken off chip pieces at the bottom of the basket for the birds on the patio, something i would only do as the only guest on the patio, which i was today. service in addition to selling the drink options really well, the greeter was very welcoming and accomodating of.such odd requests as wanting to sit on the patio during a heavy downpour; i did not want to drip water off these soaking clothes inside the restaurant haha. ambiance the restaurant features traditional decor like the colorful paper machete sort of cutouts originated in certain mexican regions, and has arcade style games inside. further, the ambiance was conducive to beautiful instances of nature, most recognizably to me a small bird, likely a child, appearing on the patio bannister and flying across the patio, and also the sudden slowing and stop of the referenced downpour, along with brief contemplation on the connectivity of such occurences. read more

Had to try this spot as we have one with the same name back home in texas. Its was as good large chicken quesadilla and quesabirria tacos were our meal. I added some charro beans which were really good. They came out fast. Our server was nice and attentive. The margaritas were nice and you could taste the tequila. Arrived on a Friday night busy. Noisy and very crowded. Staff is very friendly and professional. I ordered the fiesta salad it was a bit too wet my liking so I didn't finish it. It was just okay. My husband had the enchiladas they were not very hot seems like they were sitting under a light to keep warm (disappointing) the chips are very very thick I didn't like that either. The food was absolutely delicious, the portion sizes were incredible. My husband got quesobirria tacos, enchiladas, supreme, and one chimichanga. He said everything was absolutely amazing and he cleared all three plates. I got the garlic shrimp, which was absolutely amazing. I got a side of rice and beans which was delicious. The fajitas are amazing. The tacos were delicious. The quesadillas are delicious and the best thing there is probably the chips and salsa that you get at the table. All of us said we could drink it. Everything about our visit this evening was great. We requested outside seating and were promptly seated. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the enchiladas Mexicana which included a cheese, ground beef, and shredded chicken enchilada. It was accompanied by rice and a nice tomato salad. The salad was fresh and cold. Everything else was very hot. The chips and salsa were great and the salsa had a little bit of spice in it. we ordered the Texas jumbo margarita which was a little sweet for my taste but it packed a punch. Overall it was a very enjoyable meal. It surprised me that for the amount of food that I got for the price I paid, $11.50, what a great great value that was. The Mexican restaurants just keep coming. The Mi Pueblo restaurant cartel is spreading out to get their piece of the pie. Their other restaurants are in Sand Springs and the OKC area. I have been to the Sand Springs restaurant and enjoyed it. Both are consistent in quality, flavorful food and good service. As you would expect from an OkieMex restaurant, their menu encompasses all things Mexican food and drinks. [Their large Menu can be found online] Mi Pueblo is not a phenomenal stand out from the hordes, but certainly a good place to dip a chip and appreciate a cold fermented agave drink. I was stoked to see the 4/5 rating. I will try again incase we had an off night. I'm writing this as a white person that was expecting a "better than On the Border" but still a tex mex kinda vibe. Casa Tequila on 51st and harvard or chimis would have fit the same energy. One, the layout of this place doesn't make sense. You have to cut across the expo line to get to the host stand. The layout needs an update before a server or customer gets hurt. Plus you have to pay at the host stand so there are lines going everywhere, but no space for lines. Two, the chips were stale and the queso was luke warm at best. Not the worst, I wouldn't deduct points for this. Three, the margaritas were average, but didn't have enough ice. No points off for the margs, I understand what I've signed off for. Def made with marg mix. Four, and the kicker for me, the entrees. Enchiladas and a tamale. The tortillas on the enchiladas were so dry and cracked, despite being dipped in sauce. The tamale hurt my heart- it was like softened cardboard wrapped around half dried beef jerky. Tamales are typically never "good" in tex mex spots so my standards weren't high, but this was straight up bad. I've had tamales from the freezer section of the grocery store that were 5x better than these. The base of all the entrees was over dried and cold. I hate to see a tortilla or tamale so dry and sad. There was only 1 redeeming factor- the rice. The rice slapped. The best parts of the experience were mediocre. $50ish for 2 margs, 2 dinners, and queso so the price made sense, but it honestly hurt to spend $60 on this meal (with tip). I really hope we had an off night or they'll get it together- we live in the neighborhoood and would love to be regulars. The cost of eating anywhere is so high, and we're all struggling. Mediocre would have been fine for this price, but shitty food for $60 really upset me. TLDR: a microwave could have done it better. Hope our experience was an outlier. read more

The Chile Verde and Chile Colorado are excellent. The rice is ok. Nothing to get excited over. The birria was ok as well. I didn't hate it but I like it better elsewhere. It kind of reminded me of chili in the north where they make a little on the sweet side. I would prefer the cilantro and onions inside not on the side. Queso was good. Salsa was good. Chips were the average chips you get in all Mexican restaurants. Service was decent. Took awhile for the food to come, which is unusual for these places but I wasn't mad about it. Gave me time to drink my Splash Margarita. Decent marg. Really sweet. Unfortunately no salt on the rim, which was disappointing. Server didn't even ask if I wanted it or not. Great service and food! We arrived for Sunday lunch and were seated immediately with excellent fresh chips and salsa. The menu is extensive with Mexican and Tex-Mex selections. We decided on the Camarones Primavera (Shrimp with grilled vegetables ) and Carnitas (slow roasted pork); both of which were excellent. We especially loved the grilled veggies and shrimp. The portions were quite large. Honestly each plate was enough food for two people. Service by Hilmer was excellent and attentive. Our chip bowl and drinks stayed filled and our food arrived piping hot. Our only suggestion is that the rice and refried beans were mediocre and lacked seasoning. They felt like an afterthought. Despite this, we will be back. There were many more dishes on the menu that we want to try and unfortunately we did not spare room for desert. Perhaps next time! read more

I decided to give Mi Pueblo a 2nd chance and man am I sorry. I had the steak Quesadilla La Altena. The meat was inedible; so much gristle ; not the least bit tender; the refied beans were a disappointment; their chips are terrible. The best thing about it was the salsa. I ordered through a delivery service; one which has been the best yet; the driver got lost and my food arrived cold; so I heated it up. The huge jumbo margarita on the rocks (smallest you could order) was so strong I could only drink half. The chips were super light and the salsa has a light kick to it! Great Mexican music. The service was 5 star. They have a sun room with garage doors that open in nice weather. BUT no dogs allowed here unlike other restaurants like Society Burger. The fajitas were sitting in a pool of ( for lack of a better word) oil. More than I have ever had before. Probably due to the meat they use. The Quesabirra was pretty much the same. Very oily, so I just had the beef inside the tortilla, too greasy to pick up. Great flavor. If they used a higher grade of beef with less grease, I would totally love this place!
