Staff is nice, ambiance was ok. Food does not come as advertised. Burrito and enchiladas in the Combination platter look exactly the same. Lemonade was weak. Food does not match the price tag especially compared to other Mexican restaurants around town.

It's great to have a restaurant right off 121st west of Memorial! The location is great for anyone who lives in the area. The parking lot is plenty big as well. This location is a step up in decor from the other locations. It's El Maguey "Prime" on the sign. It's spacious and clean inside with soft cloth booths (not cold pleather!). The bar is nice with chairs and TVs as well. Food - White queso is great! - Salsa is mild and flavorful, not bland. - Quesa-Birria is their birria taco platter. If you like birria, you will like their version as well! The meat is incredibly moist with a delicious dipping sauce. - Tortilla soup is delicious! It's not in a XL bowl like other places, but still ample. If you are starving, get something with it. - Fiesta Bowl with grilled chicken was delicious. It was more rice and beans than lettuce. Their chicken is grilled nicely with a tasty flavor, not bland. Drinks - The Patrón Rita is good and strong, only needed 2! - The Flaming Margarita was fun too. It was rum-based, strawberry, and had a vodka bottle added to the top of it for a kick. - They have a nice variety of margaritas with and without the standard mix. I love without the mix as it's easier on the stomach. Staff - Our server, Mr. Lopez, was kind and attentive, but didn't rush us to order like many similar places. We took our time and enjoyed it. The only other downside besides the margarita mix is the outdoor patio. They have the land space for a large outdoor patio, but it only fits 5 tables. Tulsa/Bixby needs more good patio restaurants!

And here it is, the season finale of the El Maguey restaurant tour; the cartel's newest operation El Maguey Prime, in Bixby. With the name "Prime" expectations were set high. It is a new modern building, roomy, well-lit by a combination of natural light provided by the many large windows, and the numerous very attractive ornamental lighting fixtures. Bright decorative artificial plants are scattered throughout the restaurant including a large artificial tree, draped with colorful tassels. Fronds of ferns and creepers of ivy hang from the ceiling. The effort creates an ambiance of evening dining outdoors. The Chilaquallies. Not my usual Mexican menu selection. The picture looked fabulous. Mine with grilled chicken. Chips and chicken all covered with a mild fresh tangy sauce, decorated with a squiggle of creama, a little pickled purple onion, and a sprinkle of cilantro. Two sunny side on the side. Drag those big bright huevos over on top. Spice the whole meal up with the restaurant's salsa picosa, break the yoks and Bam! That was delicious. Look at that picture! My wife ordered the California Burrito. Really, a California Burrito. I questioned her judgment. She raved about it. I tasted of it. I must admit, it was damn good. Professional, attentive service. So, here are two meals that I would recommend to any of my most discriminating, Mexican food eatin' friends. Overall, a very enjoyable Mexican restaurant dining experience, in Bixby. If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check the collection "Jalapeno Highway." I've probably been there.

This is a really nice Mexican restaurant. I'm excited about the location. The decor is very fancy and unique. All the staff were very professional and friendly. The food was great. I had the enchiladas verdes and really enjoyed them. The salsa was good too. A little bit on the pricey side.

One of the worst tasting food, I make better Mexican food. There are no good Mexican foods in or near Tulsa

A big letdown. We won't be back. The food was mediocre at best. Prices were way too high for the quality of food they served.

I'm surprised to see that this place is listed on here as permanently closed? I eaten here recently…read morewith my family, party of 6. There's a parking lot in this plaza, and we were seated immediately upon arrival. They offered complementary chips and dips (salsa and queso). We ordered additional guac. The chorizo queso is sooooo good! I ordered the birria taco plate and I'd say this is very authentic compared to food back home (California)! They were generous with the birria and the consome is chefs kiss!!! The staff did a wonderful job in assuring our needs were met and that we were satisfied. I hope this place is just renovating and hopefully will reopen in the foreseeable future. I would love to see this place continue to thrive!

Doing four stars for the food. I would do 3.5 for staff. :(…read more I loved the salsa (fresh and spicy) and the complementary queso like dip. I loved the shredded beef enchilada! Really good and would order again. Rice and beans were probably above average. My dining partner asked how the chile relleno was prepared. (He doesn't like the eggy batter.) We were literally told that it came premade and frozen and was "just fried." Obviously, he ordered the street tacos instead. We sat at the bar and it took a bit to get waited on but the manager jumped in and gave us water and silverware. I liked my Blackberry-Rosemary Marg but I honestly didn't feel like it had much tequila in it. The regular marg was just OK. Since it is a tequila bar and we sat at the bar, I would have liked to have discussed tequilas but my bad for not asking. Would have loved to have done a tasting. The menu was informative. I would go back when in south Tulsa. Not sure I would make it a destination. (Well, maybe. Those enchiladas were good! It is a cute place.
