In town for one night and Centrico did not disappoint! Everything was amazing from the food & drinks to the service to the atmosphere! We had specialty cocktails that were delicious, then devoured posole soup (which is impossible to find in restaurants back home - VA), and the Birra enchiladas! Since we weren't able to take home leftovers, the staff not only let us split an entree, but served it separately which was very nice. My dining experience at Centrico was outstanding! I ordered the chicken enchiladas, but it turned out they were a bit too spicy for me. Our server, "Z," was so understanding and so gracious. She offered to replace my meal with something less spicy at no charge. The chicken tacos that I ended up with were amazing! I also ordered a dirty martini from the bar, and it was exceptional! Came in here for dinner to have some delicious Margaritas and Mexican food. It's a small restaurant located at the corner of the Hotel San Carlos. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We got the Birria Beef Enchiladas $17 for two, which is slow braised beef short rib, the Tacos de Asada $13 which comes in 4 street tacos, the guacamole $12, the salsa $3 and the cinnamon dusted churros. The guacamole was very good but it was very small portioned. The beef enchiladas was hearty and good. The tacos had a lot of great flavors. The cinnamon dusted churros were piping hot, filled with deliciousness and has a side of chocolate dipping sauce. They're going to ask if you want a side of rice and beans for $5. I suggest you pass because it comes in a small bowl and wasn't very good. We got drinks, the Sandia Marguerita which was muddled watermelon and fresh sours. It was very delicious and refreshing. We got it frozen for an extra two dollars $14. It came in a small glass but boy was it good. Overall, it's a high end, good quality Mexican Food restaurant. This quaint place sits in a hotel on a great people watching corner. The food was authentic and delicious. I had a chili verde and my guy had what he says is the best posole he has ever had. Our elderly aunt was struggling with the menu, so the owner came to our table and customized her request. The margaritas and guacamole were the perfect complement. Had and amazing meal here. After a friendly greeting from the staff, we ordered their homemade guacamole. We didn't want tomatoes and since it is made to order it was no problem. Guac and chips were excellent. We had their short rib birria tacos and carne asada burrito. Super fresh, tender meats, and presentation. Their burrito is huge and unless you are really hungry it can be split between two very easily. Another reason to split is to save room for the churros. Great new location just a few seconds from the original location. The new place is really nice. The charm of a small place is something I miss. Food is still delicious and there is a number of staff all over the place making sure everyone is taken care off. Be ready for the SUPER SUPER SUPER SUPER SUPER SUPER SUPER LOUD MUSIC. I had to just eat without a cocktail and get out. I had a slight headache after I left. No problem though, I'll sit on the patio next time (until it's 110 in the shade). Small place inside Hotel San Carlos with excellent service and flavorful tacos. We came for a light dinner and this was perfect. The guacamole was fresh though a little spicy for my tastes. I seemed to get a jalapeño in every bite; I'm sure this is a plus for many others. The tacos are street taco style, so on the smaller side, but they were also a very reasonable price. No complaints! Both the carne asada and chicken tinga tacos were great and both had their unique flavor. Next time, I would want to get a margarita too. Everyone else seemed to be enjoying them. read more

Cozy Mexican restaurant and bar just blocks from AZU and a ton of hotels. They had incredible customer service, the hostess and Shiloh were friendly and helpful. This gem in downtown Phoenix is the perfect place for your brunch/lunch! Location is very central and right in front of the light rail track. It's a laid back environment. A place you can go for a chill date, meet up with family/friends - it is a smaller place and didn't really look large enough for parties of 5+. The queso is a MUST! The tortillas were fresh, homemade, and had those char marks that made it oh so good. The queso itself has the mile-long cheese pull you only dream about. The chorizo burrito was also good! It was very oily/greasy and leaked the red juices over the tortilla, but that's what you get when you order chorizo. The service was also great! Joe took care of me and checked in often! Located in the San Carlos Hotel this quaint taco shop is filled with charm and amazing food. We were greeted and sat by the owner. Our waiter suggested all of his favorites and was very knowledgeable with the menu. We started out with guacamole and chips. Be careful as this has a kick. You can see all of the fresh ingredients. My wife and I, along with our friend Jane, went walking from the Crescent Ballroom before a concert to get something to eat. My wife is a vegetarian and that can limit the choices we have on food. We stumbled upon Céntrico and sat at the bar. Our bartender, Jose, was terrific. Just passing throw and love trying new places we have never been before. The wife found this spot and it was close so we decided to give it a go. Parking is difficult but that is to be expected. It is down town. Once we found street parking, it is cheap. $1.50 and hour is a great price. Would have gone to a parking garage but they are all super short. 6'4" was the height. The spot was super welcoming and not packed. We had a minor wait while they clean off our patio table and got the table side heater up and running. Jamaica margaritas is where it is at! So gooooood! Give it a try. Super easy sipping. We both got one and agreed that it was tasty. Wanted to try the chipotle margarita but I was too full We had the shrimp tacos and the chips tacos plus an order of chips. The tacos come with four street tacos. Kids and I split the shrimp tacos because we were not hungry. Everything was great. There was no food left when we were done. If you are hungry showing up, I wouldn't recommend sharing plates.
