First off, love the food, love the concept. I've been to Cavas across the country and have always been impressed. Not sure what's happening with the Arizona locations. Phoenix and Scottsdale seem to be poorly managed. I've been there at opening, no toilet paper in the bathrooms, floors are dirty, food is not prepared and a lot of items not available yet. Manager forgot to do something with the cash register so the employee couldn't check me out. What a mess. read more

A Mediterranean version of Chipotle. It was my first time going here and it lived up to all of the hype. You can build your bowl, or pita, or order a set dish. I did the customize your bowl. It was healthy, flavorful, and refreshing. The dips and spreads were what made the meal. I have never had Harissa before I went here and it contained a delectable spice. Once I mixed the bowl, all of the different flavors came together. The protein and vegetables were well prepared and tasteful. I topped it off with a vinaigrette that contributed to the spiciness of it, but it was not overwhelming. There are many different elements to building your Cava bowl. All of my friends and family who I have told about cava have fallen in love. Their food is delicious, healthy, and very filling. Tonight i got a green and grains bowl (i picked arugula and right rice) then i got honey harissa grilled chicken, hummus, taziki, crazy feta, pickled onions, avocado, corn, tomatoes, & kalmata olives in my bowl. They also give you a side of pita, included! Their juices are yummy- i enjoyed the lemonade, my sister enjoyed the mint cucumber juice and my husband the blueberry soda. If I could give this place a zero for customer service I would. I can appreciate the staff came to work and the location is open but what is hard to appreciate is lack of service and kindness. I blame Cava corporate in a whole, these staff members seem very unhappy to be here and overwhelmed. This is the worse location I have ever been to. I believe it is Cava corporation responsibly to ensure their employees are not only felt appreciated and happy to do their job while at work but also to read these reviews and make some changes. As a local in the area I will never recommend or visit this location again. The Resturant was dirty and although the cashier had gloves on to handle the money she was still seem handling the pita bread with the same gloves she was taking money with. I ordered lunch sat in the restaurant and listened to how the staff handled orders which seemed very rude there was no greetings. I also ordered a Togo bowl through the app because I was so blown away how rude the staff was I preferred to just order it online. Not did it only take twice as long to make the order as it indicated online when I asked if they where running behind the overwhelmed 1 person show to handle all online orders was very rude and short with me only stating these ppl where first your ticket just came over. (Although she did not realize I had been sitting in the restaurant the whole time.) Love this place for its convenient, modern and tasty take on Mediterranean food! The employees are always really nice and upbeat, but let's face it, the real draw is the menu. I love grain bowls and such, but there aren't usually many (if any) bowls/salads that use Mediterranean ingredients. Some of us want some updated takes on Greek/Mediterranean (in convenient takeout form). I love how many healthy ingredients are on the menu: avocado, hummus, olives, pickled onion, arugula, etc. And you get real portions of them. Most grain bowls get maybe -- *maybe* -- half a handful of whatever veggie you specify. The Mad Greens bowl I get has maybe 6-7 pieces of baby spinach and 3-4 cherry tomatoes. Most of it is just rice. The first time I got a Cava bowl, yeah there was a rice base but the veggies were *really* piled on. And the bowl was surprisingly big. Definitely bigger portions than than Mad Greens or Chipotle. The employees are great about helping to guide you through your options if you want to build your own bowl. But honestly I won't bother with that until I've worked my way through more of the menu options. For fans of the classics, there are things like Greek salad. But I'm focused on all the cool modern options that use Mediterranean ingredients, like the tahini Caesar or, well, most of the grain bowls. Those have some type of meat (lamb, lemon chicken, spicy chicken), but also hummus and various veggies with a tzatziki sauce or spicy lemon vinaigrette. It's genuinely hard to decide what to try. Especially because I also want to try their pita wraps. Falafel or spicy chicken or spicy lamb meatballs in a toasty pita sounds like heaven! This location is so-so. Service was good. Quick even with a lunch line. I like the options at Cava and stop at one frequently but the falafel at this location (Camelback in Phoenix, AZ) is terrible. I don't know what is in it but today it had a mushy center without a crusted exterior. Barely any flavor. I am not even sure it was falafel. I didn't eat them. So, I suggest skip the falafel. Don't order to go here. It was my first time trying CAVA. I used the website to build my own bowl, and they forgot half of the things that I wanted in my bowl. I got half super greens and half rice. It was rather comedic, but I recieved one large slice of raw Brussel sprout and a sprinkling of sliced cabbage on top of the rice. They forgot most of my toppings: cucumber, tomato+onion, salt-brined pickles, the pita bread, and my sides of dressings (lemon herb tahini, and skhug). Not sure exactly what is happening behind the scenes as my order was printed out in large print and stuck to my bowl, whether it be they didn't bother to read my order and slapped something random together, or they forgot about my order, or they gave up while making it. The amount of food for ~12$ is also not worth it, but I feel as though if I had gone in-person to order and watched the person make it, I may have had a different experience. They ran out of ingredients and did not indicate that when I picked up my mobile order. I got all the way home and then realized that it was missing several ingredients because they ran out. When I called to ask if I could just get a partial refund to save me the trip back, they refused and said I would need to bring the salad back. The manager did not seem to care and was not the nicest when I called or in person. I came here for the first time and tried the harissa avocado bowl. The bowl was made of fresh ingredients and the combination really went amazing together. Great flavor with every bite. The manger Quinn was very polite and professional. She has a young staff but all were friendly. The pita chips are a must! So good. Two stars because I have love for food here, always makes for yummy lunch, HOWEVER, I'm not sure if Cava treats their employees like trash because they did not seem happy/willing to help. I walked in and there was a two girls standing behind the counter looking at one girl's phone (w a pink phone case :)), I stood waiting for someone to come up to me and take my order as they just continued to look at the girls pink phone and then walked to ask me my order. A lot of these reviews are crazy. Earlier today was the first day I had Cava. And just to let you know, I'll be eating this for dinner as well. I order the braised lamb with the harissa and garlic sauce with a bunch of other great choices they had. The food was insanely tasteful.
