My first first CAVA experience...Friday evening, only 2 folks in front of us. They were helped and we stood there with no acknowledgment or help. We waited in line for over 15 minutes maybe 20. The staff prioritized their online - pickup orders over the people standing right in front of them! Horrible service. Once helped, they were out of hummus and low (out of) chicken. They were waiting on the back kitchen. And hummus frozen in the back freezer.. Isn't this supposed to be quick casual dining? Keyword quick!? It was awful. Who is running their establishment?! I had a great time at the Cava in Scottsdale. Their food was phenomenal so I was excited to try this one out at the shopping center at 16th & Camelback. Service is A+ with a great crew. Shift lead Q was doing an excellent job during the very busy dinnertime. I decided on a custom bowl with a basmati rice base, feta cheese, braised and lamb meatballs(phenomenal), veges and kalamata olives. It was one of the best bowls I've ever had making my top ten of all time list. Their bottled rootbeer is also yummy. Highly recommended. read more

Went here for the first time after hearing such great things about it. K went on a Sunday when it first opened so it was not busy. I built my own bowl. I don't remember everything I got in it but it was good. I will say I was disappointed about the amount of meat/falafel given (3 lamb meatballs and 3 falafel) when there is an up charge to get them. Other than that, the food was good, especially the rice! I had a final bite that was just a mix of feta & garlic sauce that was a bit salty so make sure you mix your bowl ingredients up well lol I have no complaints about the actual food because it was tasty and well prepared. I love this food so much but the portion sizes are becoming laughable so this is about the last straw for me. It's about half the size of when I first went here 6 months ago. We're having to add our own rice to even have a decent sized meal. Seriously cava? It was so good when we first went but keeps going downhill. Charge more if you must but please don't skimp on portions, it's just annoying.‍ Oh and one time I asked for more and they told me they'd have to charge extra. read more

I went to Cava for lunch today for the first time. It's pretty awesome that you can decide between a bowl or a pita. Then you get to decide the base of the bowl (I got spinach and brown rice, added some Tzatziki Sauce and then for protein I got chicken. I tried the lamb from my friends bowl and it was also really good! I topped my bowl with grilled corn, a tomato & cucumber mix and tons of Kalamata olives. The staff was so friendly and patient as I learned how the ordering was done. 10/10 will definitely be back there. read more

My recent visit to Cava was ok, but there's room for improvement. I've been to the Cava location on Indian School Rd before and had a pleasant experience. This one was lackluster. The line around noontime was long, though I guess that's to be expected. When placing my order, it seemed the employee was disinterested. At first this was just a hunch, but when my order was to include Romaine lettuce which they were running low on, she proceeded to substitute spinach, instead of going for more Romaine or asking if it was ok. As I made my way down the line of employees, another advised they were out of olives. I was disappointed, but, at least this employee said something. Don't expect an actual bowl (like at the Indian School location). Everything's served in a carry out container. When I went to pay, I was asked if I wanted a drink ... to which I responded with a "yes". When I was done paying, I got a bewildered look as to why I wasn't moving out of line. I reminded the employee I had just ordered a drink and needed a drink cup. Anyone can forget, but the look I got was unforgettable. Although it didn't include the ingredients I expected, the food was good. The price IMO, is a little steep. A competitor has similar offerings for about half the price. Overall, once Cava irons out the labor and supply issues, it can make for a yummy lunch. read more

I cannot wait for this place to be open to the public! We were invited to a Camelback Community Day, where they opened their doors if you pre-registered with a QR code on Eventbrite. We were given a 15 minute window to show up, we showed our QR code and we were allowed to order a bowl. I had the Greek chicken salad and it was absolutely fabulous, huge portion of chicken too. My husband had the white sweet potato bowl that also had basmati rice, lentils, all sorts of veggie goodies plus chicken. He just about licked the bowl clean. Their iced tea is really good too! I did ask them when they would be open to the public and it looks like March 25 is the current target date. The staff were super friendly and seemed very happy to be part of this community day, thanks Cava! read more

What is going on at this location? They need to get it together. We've been four times and had four less than good experiences. I kept giving them more chances because I like this kind of food. But I'm done. The food is inconsistent, vaguely Mediterranean slop, the staff is rude/indifferent, and the whole experience seems like chaos. All the drinks were empty at 5:30 during prime dinner time? And no ice. Also there are dishes everywhere all over the place every time we are in. They are always out of some ingredients. And just a huge mess of food all over the bottom of the lettuce area. Seems unsanitary. Chain restaurants are supposed to be consistent and the only thing this location is consistent about is giving a chaotic, less than satisfactory experience. It seems like the store could use a general manager that actually knows what the hell they are doing and can train staff and streamline the process. My advice to anyone reading: do not even attempt to get takeout or delivery from this location unless you want an incorrect or severely delayed order. If you are looking for good, healthy food with competent, friendly service and sanitary conditions in the surrounding areas I suggest Flower Child, George's Kitchen, Pita Jungle, Luci's Healthy Marketplace, Duck & Decanter, Chop Shop, Zukis Pita, and Middle Eastern Bakery & Deli. read more

I've been wanting to come here for forever, and the food didn't disappoint. I built my own bowl while my friend got the harissa avocado. First off, there's a pretty dramatic price diff between the two, probably cause of the avocado, but something to think about nonetheless. While the food was amazing and definitely lived up to the hype, the staff didn't seem to be very efficient. It took us about 20 minutes to get through the line to order, and the way they were assembling the bowls made it confusing as to who's next up to choose their toppings. Disturbingly, we witnessed the staff drop the avocado knife on the floor, and then immediately pick it up and place it back on the counter to be used again. I wish I could give more stars, because the food was honestly so good, but my experience was less than completely enjoyable. read more

No knock on the food, but probably the slowest service of any food establishment I've ever been to. It's like they're in a competition as to who can be slower. Every day I make a mobile order and every time without fail, it is not ready on time and generally takes at least 15 more minutes then when the app tells me it's supposed to be ready. Hello, On June 24th I went in to get my online order and it wasn't ready-I did not get a email confirmation so it did not go through. Although the staff was amazing they took my order at the counter and they were so efficient. I had 11 orders and when I got back to work the staff orders were all on point. Stopped by here for lunch the other day and was actually really impressed with the overall quality and freshness of the ingredients. I ordered a salad with their grilled chicken and I also got a couple of their dips/hummus and all of the flavors worked out really well. The lemon herb tahini dressing was amazing and it was a pretty good sized portion as well. Pretty decent price for what you get too. When I'm in this area I will definitely stop by again for a nice healthy option for lunch. read more

Phoenix and Scottsdale seem to be poorly managed. I've been there at opening, no toilet paper in the bathrooms, floors are dirty, food is not prepared and a lot of items not available yet. Did a DoorDash order for a grain bowl. I was very disappointed it came ice cold, the falafel was soooo dried out, it was ridiculous. And on top of that, I was missing several of the ingredients I requested to be in it! I've ordered from you guys before, but for some reason this particular order failed.
