We were looking for something different to eat, and as we know everything close early in Phoenix ‍, so gyro it is , mind you this place is open late and even later on Friday and Saturday. The gyros were delicious, the hummus was great, the fries were seasoned well. If you're in the area give them a try

Food is delicious! Service is so nice too. You can tell they work hard and put lots of love into their craft. I will absolutely be recommending this place to my friends and family and will be back myself.

If you're looking for a hearty meal that won't break the bank, Gyro 101 is your spot. You get so much food for your money, and it's always top-notch. The service here is consistently excellent--genuinely friendly and quick, making every visit a pleasant experience. The rice is fluffy, the hummus is perfectly creamy, and the meats? Absolutely mouthwatering. Don't skip the falafel; they're crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and make the perfect pairing with that extra tzatziki sauce. Trust me, it's worth it. My mom wanted to add that she is obsessed with the baba ghanoush and she could eat it every day. What really sets Gyro 101 apart, though, is the staff. The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate requests, making you feel like part of the family from the moment you walk in. Every meal is a warm, welcoming experience and completely fresh. We want to emphasize it is fresh. If you haven't been yet, what are you waiting for?

The gyro shop down the street was closed during their posted hours so, I ended up here. I had the gyro plate. I absolutely love the hummus. The pita was hot and tasted fresh. The gyro lamb/beef was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The tzatziki was thick like butter (The place I normally go it's very watery), and delicious. All 4 stars are for the food alone. The service, and the dining room make me want to take off two stars, but I added one back for the food. The gentleman at the counter couldn't take his nose out of his phone. He kept rubbing his face/head like he just awoke from a nap. I also ordered a bottle of Coke, but he didn't ring it up. I'm not sure they even have a restroom. The display where the utensils were looked like a child gad rummaged through it. The atmosphere is very hole-in-the-wall which doesn't bother me, but it felt like it was 90 degrees. I sat directly under the mini split A/C and it didn't seem to be on. The next customer to come in commented "long day?" as if he noticed the guy's fatigue, and also asked about the air conditioning to which the cashier replied "hot"... Some really good looking stuff on the menu. I will come back to try more. The gyro plate is definitely worth a try. I suggest take out. I don't like to sweat and eat.

    Best yellow rice with kabob!

The food is soo delicious! The customer service is the best and friendly. Chef Aj was very brilliant with the dish he makes. The cashier was super nice and helpful. I recommend everyone nearby to stop by and try this wonderful place out. Atmosphere is amazing!

First time in at Gyro 101 in Phoenix, they have another location in Scottsdale. The Phoenix location has been open for at least two weeks. When you walk in you order your food based upon the menu and pictures on the wall. Prices are clearly posted and very reasonable. There was an assortment of fresh Baklava at the register so we added that to the order. There were three in our group and we ordered a couple of gyro wraps with an order of chicken tenders. Side orders included a Falafel plate, onion rings, Greek fries and bottled sodas. The food was very tasty and fresh. Great service, clean and good value. Happy we have a Mediterranean food option in this neighborhood. Put this one on your list.

Ate very little.... I ordered the lamb kabob....it was ok but pretty bland, looked like processed little meat balls. . Service was good and friendly, no owner on site. In past visits I loved their Asobuco but none was on the menu. That's what I wanted to order. There was free baklava ....wasn't looking for free....went up to the counter to order some. Then was given two out of a bunch of stacked containers behind the register. If I hadn't inquired wouldn't have known. In past visits they always walked around with a tray and offered. This was dry as well..... I do appreciate free but not dry. I was willing to pay. I probably caught them on an off night, business was good which is always a good sign. I'll give them another shot but won't order the Chicken Chips.

Every detail you notice is extravagant and purposeful. Visiting on a Saturday for lunch, there were plenty of other families eating together too. I noticed the crowd was mostly older, which lets you know this restaurant is a true staple in the community (I find that usually the old people know what's up). As all 4 of us weren't super hungry, we split the Persian Room Special- Combination of barg (Filet mignon), chicken filet and Koobideh kebab, served with basmati rice and grilled tomato. It was a huge portion of food, served on a large silver platter. The menu states that it serves 2, but it perfectly filled us 4 adults! Granted, we weren't super hungry to begin with, but 2 is definitely an underestimate. I'd say it can easily satisfy 3 hungry adults. Anyway, quantity aside, THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! Everything was so flavorful and paired well together. The meat was also juicy. My favorite was the koobideh kebab for sure. There isn't much more I can say, as the food speaks for itself. The Persian Room is definitely something you need to try for yourself. Weeks later, I'm still craving it and will definitely be back!

I'd been here several times years ago, and after coming back, I'm honestly wondering why I don't eat here more often. I ordered the chicken shawarma, a stuffed grape leaves platter, and hot tea. Everything was exactly what I hoped it would be. The chicken was well-seasoned, tender, and wrapped with the classic toppings, and the portion was fair for the price. Speaking of price, the value here is honestly hard to beat. The stuffed grape leaves platter came with hummus, tabbouleh, pita, and hot stuffed grape leaves. I had completely forgotten they serve them warm, and my brain needed a minute to recalibrate because I'm so used to cold dolmas everywhere else. Once I took a bite, though... yep. That's how they're supposed to taste. Soft, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I ended up adding some of the hummus and tabbouleh to my shawarma, which made an already great sandwich even better. The service was just as impressive as the food. My server was genuinely kind, gave me a few extra minutes when I couldn't decide, checked in without hovering, and even offered to package my hot tea to go when he noticed I was still working on it. (For the record, ordering an entire pot of tea for one person was an ambitious life choice on my part.) The dining room isn't huge, and there's also a small market attached, which adds to the charm. This place reminds me that consistency is underrated. Years later, I came back, and it was just as good as I remembered. Great food, great service, great value.
