Hot as heck not in a good way. Smells kinda rank too. Not sure where the high ratings come from. Music is authentic not Greek at all but middle eastern. Asked the guy where he was from to make conversation and he completely ignored me. the food though. Must say not bad at all. Maybe get take out next time. I got the Greek with gyro meat. read more

The food was very flavorful, you can tell is a small business, I was greeted right away but the owner who made my meal as I waited offered me a drink for the wait. It was very clean and cozy in the dine inn area even though I took to go. I will be going back again. read more

My first time and I was very impressed. Food was fabulous. I ordered pitas, Greek salad, zucchini and mushrooms. But what stood out the most is how they are with their customers. It was warm in the restaurant and I ordered to go. He said he would bring it out to the car when it was ready. That's going above and beyond! I found my new favorite Gyro place. read more

The gyro shop down the street was closed during their posted hours so, I ended up here. I had the gyro plate. I absolutely love the hummus. The pita was hot and tasted fresh. The gyro lamb/beef was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The tzatziki was thick like butter (The place I normally go it's very watery), and delicious. All 4 stars are for the food alone. The service, and the dining room make me want to take off two stars, but I added one back for the food. The gentleman at the counter couldn't take his nose out of his phone. He kept rubbing his face/head like he just awoke from a nap. I also ordered a bottle of Coke, but he didn't ring it up. I'm not sure they even have a restroom. The display where the utensils were looked like a child gad rummaged through it. The atmosphere is very hole-in-the-wall which doesn't bother me, but it felt like it was 90 degrees. I sat directly under the mini split A/C and it didn't seem to be on. The next customer to come in commented "long day?" as if he noticed the guy's fatigue, and also asked about the air conditioning to which the cashier replied "hot"... Some really good looking stuff on the menu. I will come back to try more. The gyro plate is definitely worth a try. I suggest take out. I don't like to sweat and eat. read more

I am so glad I found Gyro 101, everything is so good here. I especially like the Gyro Plate, Philly Gryo Plate, and Chicken Shawarma Plate. All the plates come with a Greek Salad, Hummus and Pita Bread. Oh and don't forget the Baklava, the Hazelnut Baklava is amazing.... I can't wait to return soon... First time in at Gyro 101 in Phoenix, they have another location in Scottsdale. The Phoenix location has been open for at least two weeks. When you walk in you order your food based upon the menu and pictures on the wall. Prices are clearly posted and very reasonable. There was an assortment of fresh Baklava at the register so we added that to the order. There were three in our group and we ordered a couple of gyro wraps with an order of chicken tenders. Side orders included a Falafel plate, onion rings, Greek fries and bottled sodas. The food was very tasty and fresh. Great service, clean and good value. So here it was on a Saturday afternoon on warm day in Phoenix. I was invited to revisit Gyro 101, a Mediterranean type of food restaurant. I believe this restaurant is bit over a month new at this location. As you walk into this place you right away know where the order counter is. To your right is the dine in area. Today I am ordering their regular gyro with a side order of onion rings, and dining in, and you pay before not after. You sit down at your table and wait for your food to be ready to served. My gyro came as did the onion rings. The gyro comes with tzatziki sauce and very tasty. I forgot to mention the drinks are either in a can or bottle in case you were wondering. Next time I will try other dishes on their menu but their gyro is a winner with me. When you dine in one of the gentlemen will check to make sure your food is good. We just give him the thumbs up to let him know know all is good. I realize that there are other Gyro 101 places on the east side of the Valley but it is refreshing to see it open here. Not a fancy place by all means but it is worth giving it a try. By the way their Baklava is really good and they have all different flavors for you to try and taste! read more

We come here several times a month and order the Philly Gyros and Greek salad and they are always delicious! Hassan makes a great meal and is very kind and hospitable. **This portion is for the owners and I hope they read this!** The AC has been out for several months. Each time we visit we learn, "the owners said they were going to send someone to fix it but it never gets repaired....just a bandaid approach with a portable AC unit that's blowing even hotter air. " The space is incredibly hot and uncomfortable. I think it is CRUEL to make your hard working employee endure such hot temperatures, especially in the kitchen which is always hotter. It is also uncomfortable trying to enjoy a meal here.... I hope you repair it soon! read more

I always get it and the humus and delicious desserts as well and the people there are so nice and the owner such a nice man !!! Went there for a late Sunday lunch. The food is AMAZING!! It might look small but the cook knows how to season the food really good. This is coming from a Arab so I know the real Mediterranean taste of food. I'm a picky eater and I LOVE this place. My boyfriend and I got the spanakopita, fried zucchini, loaded gyro fries, and chicken shawarma with rice. It was so fresh and hot and all made within 15 minutes. We also tried the garlic sauce and it was very delicious with the chicken.
