She has an allergy to processed and red meat, yet they've made the wrong order three times. Today, when I went back, they didn't apologize or say anything. It's been on my radar for quite some time, so I was eager to try. The menu looked awesome. I ordered the Meat Tehka platter which came with Iraqi bread, rice, and charred onions/tomato's. The platter consisted of 12 cubes of beef, which were flavourful, but not as tender as I had hoped and a little on the fatty side. Nonetheless, Crown is a hidden gem. Accidentally stumbled across this place because the restaurant we were going to was closed but man what a treat!! It is Iraqi style food and everything was so delicious! Came in here for the first time for some authentic Mediterranean food, the food was good very delicious and packed with flavors also really enjoyed the lentil soup, the hummus was okay not a big fan, but everything else was great! I've been to a lot of Mediterranean restaurants, but Crown Restaurant really stands out. The food is so flavorful and fresh - the beef kabobs and rice are seriously on another level. It's the kind of place where you feel comfortable and welcomed the moment you walk in and also for a big plate with 3 kabobs and shit ton of rice will cost you around 18$ and you will get your moneys worth. I also want to say the new owner, Bejar. He's super friendly and goes out of his way to make sure you're taken care of. Under new management as of Nov 2024 and food is getting worse by the day. All the positive reviews are about the OLD management. Now they are cutting corners like crazy and it's really sad. The moment I walked in I was welcomed with the most delicious scent ever. All I know is that I got to try what they offer and that's what I did. The wait for our food didn't took long but it was a good anticipation for the food we ordered. The food itself was a good large portion ( a good size to share as a family ) and oh my goodness the moment I took a bite, my mouth was filled with distinct flavors from each ingredient - dancing around in harmony - completing my craving with full satisfaction. I found Crown Restaurant on Yelp while searching for a restaurant that was rated well and open on Sunday. The photos as well as the menu looked great, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Mashwai Combo as it offered a variety. I hadn't realized that it came with an app. I chose the Baba Ganouj, which came with a tasty pita like bread. Everything was delicious. My server was very friendly and attentive, yet not overbearing. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall and the exterior could use a makeover with a nice sign and removal of all the tacky menu photos all over the windows. The inside could also use an update, including the menus, which haven't been updated in awhile, but it was very clean and tidy. Overall the food is the star here. The service was also excellent. This place has delicious food! You might have to wait an extra 20 minutes during dinner time, but it is so worth it! I've been here a few times and The Mashwai combo is my favorite. On the plus side: the lamb shank over rice was good size, tender and juicy, the 3-meat combo skewers were plentiful esp. when put into the pita bread as a sandwich, and the owner?/chef was helpful when ordering. I would go back for the lamb shank. I had one of their kabob platters it was good they know how to eat that is for sure. Next time I will try the Masawi Platter.
