I had mentioned two guests had a birthday in my reservation and they put two birthday notecards on the table, this was a lovely touch. The ambiance outside was perfect, wasn't loud at all and lighting was moody. I had a Ruby Fizz Mocktail and it was one of the best mocktails I have ever had. The others drinks were strong and good! The food was incredible. I highly recommend the scallop toast (we ordered it a second time because it was so good!) and bread service for starter. The table really liked the empanadas, I was not a huge fan (but, I am from Miami so my empanada taste buds are different LOL). The Rockefeller Snapper was incredible. Huge piece of yellowtail and just an overall unique dish. The Scallop Cavatelli had to have been one of the best seafood dishes I have ever had. It was rich and decadent. I am not sure if they hand roll the pasta in house, but the pasta tasted so fresh. The table had some espresso martinis to end the night and I had a decaf French press coffee (I think he said French press). It was all delicious. Highly highly recommend.

There was no one at hostess stand because system was down and they were having troubles which I felt bad for the hostess who seemed stressed on obviously a busy night. They were out of both of the entrees we wanted, which was unfortunate but I ended up getting the catch beurre blanc and it was delicious. I ordered a sangria but our drinks took a very long time to come out, after our appetizer (crab, an heirloom tomato bruschetta which was yummy and more filling than regular bruschetta!) Overall, the food was really good and waitress was nice, but water was never refilled and everything took a really long time to come out. Would love to try it again on a regular night and hopefully they have the entrees we wanted to try:)

This time we didn't have food. Just drinks. I tried a Goodbye Earl. If earl grey is involved, I'm in! It was quite good. The lemon was the heaviest flavor. I would have liked it even more if the earl grey shined thru a little more. My friend had the Madi Cola which was also good. A little too sweet for my palate but it was good! The vanilla rum was great in there. It was interesting on this trip because it was the middle of a weekday. It wasn't too packed but still bustling. The place does really have a bit of a speakeasy feel and they often have live music if that's your thing.

They have a beautiful bar and upstairs seating that overlook the restaurant. The menus are themed as if your reading an old news paper! They leave zero details out. The drinks I had from here were the perfect mix of strong but kept to their profile of flavor that you expected in the description on the menu which I absolutely appreciated. I ordered two side dishes to enjoy as I had a bigger breakfast (I regret now because this is one of those places I wish I could've had the whole menu) I ended up with their Mac & cheese and their deviled eggs. Their Mac & cheese was absolutely delicious. The cheeses they used complemented themselves together beautifully. The crispy outside and the cheesy inside. I genuinely loved every moment of every single bite. The deviled eggs are a new experience I have never had before. They really add their own twist to them with blue cheese and I normally don't fancy a blue cheese but they absolutely knew what they were doing because it complemented the yolk so well. It was such a unique flavor I've never gotten to experience with deviled eggs. And I will never forget it! With everything said in done. I will mention or waitress forgot about us and never brought the sauce I asked for or checked in on us. But again this place carried so heavily with the food that they could have thrown the food at me and told me to get lost and I probably would've left with a smile on my face.

A Christmas Day with a View to Remember - for sure…read more.. My son now lives in Jacksonville, Florida, and for Christmas Day he wanted to do something fun and festive. After searching around, he snagged a reservation at St. George in St. Augustine, right across from the fort--and honestly, that alone set the stage for a special evening. St. Augustine was packed (as expected for Christmas and Nights of Lights), and the restaurant itself is on the cozy side. There are only a few tables downstairs, which also houses the kitchen and bar, while the main dining area is upstairs along with a balcony. We truly lucked out because we landed what felt like the best table in the house--right in the center of the upstairs balcony, overlooking the fort and the Christmas trolleys rolling by for the Night of Lights parade. That view absolutely made the night magical. Service-wise, our waitress was incredibly kind and welcoming--lots of smiles and great energy. That said, some of the banter felt a bit overdone. For example, we were told there were over 600 reservations that day, which felt a little hard to believe given the restaurant size and table turnover. Still, we did feel lucky to be there, especially on such a busy holiday. Food and drinks were good, though not necessarily standout for the price point. Wine pours and menu pricing were fair, but not what I'd typically expect for a really great glass of wine or a beautifully plated meal. However--the absolute highlight of the night was the prime rib. They had just made a fresh batch, and you could tell. The cut was massive, incredibly fresh, and honestly large enough to share between the three of us, which worked perfectly since we weren't super hungry. We shared an appetizer, enjoyed the prime rib, had a couple glasses of wine, and called it a night--simple and satisfying. Overall, I'd rate this experience between a 3.5 and 4, but I'm giving it a solid 4 stars because it was Christmas Day, incredibly busy, and the staff handled it all with great attitudes and smiles. Would I return? That's still up in the air. It feels a bit pricey for what you get, and I might explore other options next time--but hey, it is St. Augustine. All in all, it was a good night, made special by spending Christmas together and enjoying a truly beautiful, unforgettable view.

The inside is very nice but the balcony is for your where it's at. Just amazing views. Probably one of the best in Downtown St Augustine. We looked over the menu and I will say both food and drinks were more on the pricy side but nothing crazy. None of their cocktails were calling my name so I went with a glass (or 2) of the Riesling for $10. The menu had a lot that sounded good: Mains, Handhelds, and of course Breakfast options. Our waitress was very helpful going over the options and what was good. I of course ended up on one of my brunch classics, Shrimp and Grits. Our food came out after 15 minutes after ordering. I will say this was were things were lacking. The Shrimp & Grits was just kind of bland. It was stated that the shrimp were blackened which they had some seasoning but still didn't give them the flavor it needed. The Andouille Sausage seemed like your typical Hillshire Farms and didn't help with more flavor either. I will say the shrimp were cooked perfectly which for sure saved the dish. I would come back for the views, service, and drinks, but might be passing up on food next time.

Walking in, I loved the vibes! It gave modern tiki bar feeling, it was clean and felt very warm and inviting. We sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender and a very extensive and beautiful leather bound menu! I loved that haha! They had everything from classic tiki drinks, to modern, to drinks by liquor type, etc. It had the food menu, some information about the bar and how it came about. We ordered a few drinks: Bushido Rhapsody (DELICIOUS), Stars & Sarsaparilla (husband liked it) and their currently rotating tiki drink - Escape from Black Mountain, which serves 2 and is served in a cool mug of the bust of Pedro Menendez. You can purchase it as well! It was so good and felt never ending between the 2 of us drinking it. For food we ordered a couple of apps - Cajun Chicken Eggrolls and the Montenegro Meatballs. Both were fantastic!! If we didn't already have dinner plans, we would have stayed here for dinner! Definitely will be coming back here next time we are in town and every time after that!

The service was excellent, and the food has that fresh, thoughtful, farm-to-table feel where you can tell care is going into what comes out of the kitchen. For me, one of the biggest highlights was how seriously they take gluten-free dining. I had warm, made-from-scratch gluten-free biscuits with pork belly and a peach bourbon jam, and oh my goodness -- absolutely to die for. Everyone at the table enjoyed them. It is not often that you find a gluten-free biscuit that feels like you are getting the full experience rather than settling for an alternative. I was also impressed by how many gluten-free options they offer. Even their po' boy can be battered with rice flour. Our waiter explained that the chef is gluten-free and that they are very mindful of guests with celiac disease, including separating food preparation when needed. That level of care is a huge plus. And it wasn't just the gluten-free food that impressed us. One friend ordered the meatloaf sandwich and received a seriously hearty piece of meatloaf. My husband had the BLT with pimento cheese on thick sourdough bread, and it was excellent. We also heard that the chicken and waffles, offered during dinner, are a must-try -- so that may be calling us back! The cocktail menu was another win. The drinks were creative, original, flavorful, and clearly thoughtfully crafted rather than just the standard options you see everywhere. Everyone in our group seemed genuinely happy with what they ordered, which says a lot. Beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, creative drinks, fantastic food, and some of the best gluten-free options I've come across. Five stars all the way. I would absolutely return to The Floridian and work my way through more of that gluten-free menu!

Compared with the previous location in the historic area, the new dining room is more spacious with most tables having at least one side with banquet seats. Parking is so much easier, and I think the food quality is better and more consistent than it used to be. This was our second visit to the new location and each time the food and service have been amazing. As always it's a great place for vegetarians and vegans with most items on the menu having vegetarian or vegan options. There is no shortage of great seafood and meat options too. They have local meat and seafood on the menu. There are also lots of gluten free options. We were celebrating our anniversary and the manager and our server were so nice and accommodating. There is a lot of outdoor seating under old live oak trees which will be amazing in the fall and spring. In August at least at lunchtime it would be far too hot to sit outside. For guests visiting from out of town, this is a great lunch stop before or after visiting the Alligator Farm!
