We had dinner at Casa Sofia tonight with four people, and overall it was a really enjoyable meal. We started with the Tres Mangos cocktail (reposado tequila, mezcal, mango, chamoy, and lime). It was refreshing and well balanced--not too sweet. The first glass had a small crack in it, so we sent it back. They apologized and quickly made us a new one, so no issues there. We ordered quite a few appetizers, and the two standouts for me were the ceviche and the octopus. Both were packed with flavor without being overly salty, which I really appreciated. The shishito peppers and broccolini were also excellent. The mushroom empanadas were tasty and worth ordering as well. My favorite dish of the night was the pork chop with pears. The pork chop was cooked perfectly--moist, juicy, flavorful, and tender. The sweetness of the pears paired really well with the pork and brought the whole dish together. It was easily the best entrée we had. Dessert was also solid. We tried both the chocolate cake and the cheesecake, and both were a great way to end the meal. Overall, the food was well executed, the service was friendly, and for four people we ordered plenty of food and spent about $500, including drinks. If you're looking for a nice dinner with creative dishes and quality ingredients, Casa Sofia is definitely worth checking out. Btw, they have a few private rooms for larger oarties and the rooms were really pretty

Absolutely wonderful! I truly ascended at dinner tonight. Every single dish was immaculate and not to mention gorgeous. One of the best dinners I've had in a while! The restaurant itself is so beautiful as well, especially the bar and the artwork above it, just stunning. Our service was great and we all agreed that we did not have a single bad dish. Our favorites were the smoked tuna, oysters, grilled octopus, empanadas, crullers and guava cheesecake but really just try as many things as you can! This is really good food that just makes you want to dance

Saw they have added lunch hours. What a delicious surprise! Omelette rivals Balthazar (IYKYK). Potato chip app is crazy good.

It's rare to find a place in San Francisco that checks every box. Food, atmosphere, service, and location--this place delivers on all of them. I kept looking for something to critique and simply couldn't find a flaw. Everything was executed at a high level from start to finish. This is exactly the kind of restaurant you recommend to out-of-town visitors with complete confidence, knowing they'll be well taken care of and leave impressed. Perfection all around. Special shout out to our server, Julius! BB

Casa Sophia is an amazing new chic Latin American restaurant near Oracle Park. The food was amazing and the service was top notch. The manager (or perhaps restaurant owner I am not sure..) made our experience exceptional and paired each our dishes with the right wine. Our starters were the fried pantains (best I've ever had) and the empanadas. Both were fabulous. Our mains were the ribs and the halibut. Ribs were sweet and juicy and fell right off the bone. The fish was cooked perfectly and we were told it was caught that morning! Those were paired with a special "orange" wine. I would ask for it again. Dessert was the best decadent glazed doughnut paired with a fine port. From start to finish this was a perfect night!

I first visited Casa Sophia during their grand opening a couple of weeks ago and was blown away by both the atmosphere and the food. I loved it so much that I insisted my husband and friends come back with me so we could experience the full menu--not just the delicious party bites from opening night. I'm happy to report that it exceeded my expectations. San Francisco is known for incredible food, and people will happily travel across the city--or across the Bay--for a memorable meal. That's why I'm especially excited to have a restaurant of this caliber right here in the neighborhood. Honestly, the food rivals many of the best restaurants I've visited anywhere in the country. We enjoyed the ceviche, tuna tartare, fresh halibut, broccolini, divine cruller donuts, excellent cocktails, and a wonderful wine selection. Every dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. Our server, Colton, was fantastic, and the entire support staff was warm, attentive, and professional. They made us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. I can't wait to go back again and again. Wishing the entire Casa Sophia team tremendous success. Being across from the ballpark may make reservations a little tougher during baseball season, but if I can't get a table, I suppose I'll just have to order delivery!

10/10! As someone who works in hospitality, I really appreciate the level of detail and consistency that goes into creating a memorable guest experience. The food was outstanding, the beverage program was well curated, and the service was polished without feeling pretentious. A beautiful representation of modern Peruvian cuisine. I'll definitely be back.

Fun new spot in South Beach SF. Really great food that is perfect for sharing. We got a little bit of everything to try and our waiter recommendations were spot on for what we wanted. Service was a little slow but it was an event day and that is to be expected. Overall great experience with delicious food.

Casa Sofia was absolutely perfect for dinner. The ambience is lovely, along with a gorgeous remodel. We enjoyed the peach salad, pork chop, a couple of appetizers and delicious cocktails. I'll be back to try the rest of the unique menu and possibly have a private party in one of the back rooms.

My wife and I visited Casa Sofia yesterday and had an outstanding experience. The restaurant is beautiful, the service was exceptional, and the food was absolutely phenomenal. We enjoyed two appetizers along with drinks, and everything exceeded our expectations. We ordered the ribs and the octopus. I typically do not enjoy octopus, but the chef prepared it perfectly and paired it with incredible flavors that completely changed my perspective. Every dish was thoughtfully crafted and full of flavor. We are already looking forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu. Highly recommend Casa Sofia to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Beautifully decorated restaurant serving delicious Peruvian food. It's such as gem in the neighborhood! We ordered Ceviche for appetizer and fish was so fresh, halibut dinner, arroz con marisco (Peruvian paella), and key lime pie. All were amazing! Managers were friendly and gave us a little tour of their event area. It's still soft opening and can't wait to come back for more expanded menu selections.

High ratings, few reviews, but we were adventurous and decided to try it, glad we did. Ingredients is on a corner, looked relatively new from the outside LED "Open" sign prominent in the window. Once we walked in, however, we entered a different world from what we were expecting. Luxurious mustard seats, lots of tables for four, seating with high gray bench banquettes, reminding me of a 70s tune ("Diamonds in the back..."); retro vibe elegantly done with modern lighting and sconces. Not cheesy by any stretch, but in a neighborhood place you could wear sweats or a suit to eat at. Our waiter was Jackie, an enthusiastic young man who seemed like he wasn't just there to wait on tables. Throughout the evening he was easy to chat with while being knowledgeable about his food he served without being condescending. He made someone unfamiliar with the menu feel new-to-us dishes weren't going to be an experiment. We ordered the beet salad, the 8 ounce hamburger with fries, the mushroom risotto, and on Jackie's recommendation the Nepal BBQ ribs. In the meantime they served us house made brioche buns-warm, soft, delicate and chewy, flaky; reminded me of Texas Roadhouse buns, but far better. Served with a little olive oil and balsamic in a separated dish, you could eat them plain and enjoy the craftsmanship of baked excellence. We wanted more but in retrospect we would've been filled up with brioche and not enjoyed the meal. Tough choice. The roasted beet salad, served with shaved fennel, a beet balsamic jus, and an apple-citrus slaw that was fresh, sweet with hints of citrus offset by the fennel so it wasn't cloyingly sweet. The textures were enjoyable-the softness of the beets with the crunch of the fennel slaw, we anxiously cleaned the plate! Next came the risotto and the burger. What was enjoyable was the mushroom risotto-a refreshing presentation of toothsome Arborio, creamy yet firm, interplaying with a variety of mushrooms that immediately became one of the better risotto we've had, texturally excellent, not one note like most risotto, it came out hot but not searing; deft hands created a concoction that kept us going back for more. The burger was simple, cooked medium, but one of the best we've had in a very long time. We should qualify the burger as a cheeseburger as we were given a choice- bleu cheese or cheddar, we chose the bleu cheese and it was a good choice, just the right amount complimenting the veggies that came with burger. Oh, the fries-skinny, perfectly fried they stayed equally crunchy from first to last, served in a mini fry basket that was cute but it also showed they meant business, these fries were better than that Irish fast food place, and aren't they the iconic standard of French fries? IMO Ingredients is now the new standard. They were served with house made ketchup, excellent with or without. The ribs came last originally accompanied by a Mac and cheese but since we ordered risotto they served the ribs separately with a slaw. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone, but a little more savory than sweet , served with just enough sauce to accompany the ribs without being messy, easy enough to eat using knife and fork, the kicker was a hint of five spice, subtle enough if it's in ypur background, but not an annoyance if it's not. Flavorful, hearty, filling, delicious, We ended our meal with a homemade "apple pie," a creation made of thinly sliced apples, perhaps poached, with cinnamon, cardamom, allspice, along with fresh fruit, and a yummy scoop of "creamy"mango sorbet. Lots of surprising good vibes-no crust, all apple, not heavy; the mix of spices played well with each other; mango sorbet wasn't icy like sorbets tend to be, the fresh fruits added a touch of freshness to the dish that could have been sweet-centric, but not. A delicate yet satisfying end to a delicious meal. We met the chef, Sok, at the end of our meal, who had his culinary training n Kathmandu and expanded his repertoire in his world travels. He definitely knows how to elevate a good meal, and his Nepal and French influences add an understated flair to what he cooks. Sok takes tremendous pride in what he presents to the diner, evidenced by who he hires, and how each dish is presented. Dining in Ingredients is gratifying, from the dining room to the staff to the dishes themselves. More people should give Ingredients a try, a gem of a neighborhood find, a rarity in SF! Thank you so much, we have a new favorite restaurant!

I will say that this place is absolutely stunning and beautiful compared to a lot of others San Francisco rooftops that I have visited. This is located into the tenderloin, so please be aware that you will have to find your own street parking but parking a garage is preferred. This place has stunning views nonetheless, it's very chill and in a relaxing setting. The music is not overpowering, which is nice enough to have a conversation without having it overly crowded with 50 other people around you. I've definitely been back here a few times to take other friends and family and I will continue to do so. There are also heaters outside when it's very cold, chilly and windy. The food was pretty good. The fried chicken and deviled eggs were super tasty. I'm rating this 4 stars instead of 5 due to a couple of service issues. First, their bar policy for large groups is frustrating. A guest in our party tried to order a soda at the bar but was turned away because he wasn't physically sitting at the bar counter. For large groups, people should be allowed to open separate bar tabs so they don't have to be looped into the main table bill. It feels unreasonable and cuts into the bartenders' tips. Second, our server wasn't very welcoming. While not openly rude, the cold demeanor made our diverse group feel a bit pre-judged, which was disappointing. We still ended up with a hefty bill and tipped well, but hospitality could definitely be improved. Overall, we had a great time because of the company, music, and food. I'm willing to give it another try to see if the service improves!

Also, for the food, I recommend the dips and the fresh pitas, so good. We'll be back just for that. Reminds me of the old Berkeley restaurant years ago, Holy Land (IYKYK). Mmmm. Thanks!

The sandwich comes with a small dressed salad and three tomato halves. It was nice. The potatoes served with the sandwich were roasted but served cold and dry. Like they were left over from the night before. Randy enjoyed his mocha. We shared a very dry, flavorless except for the two small bits of jam in them, "cheese" danish. Definitely skip this $7 item that you could get at a circle k for $1.50 and it would taste fresher. You order when you walk in and someone delivers your order and then you're left to fend for yourself. We were able to locate some ketchup for the potatoes on our own. Nobody ever checked on us. This is the second place on this visit that's charging an extra 5% fee so that their employees can have a living wage and health insurance, which absolutely, every employee should have. With the prices they charge, they should already be able to do that, though. I read an article about this fee with many different names and I would rather pay a bit higher of a price and know the employees were taken care of than be surprised by this fee later. Two sandwich breakfasts, a mocha and a danish on top of tax and their healthy sf fee was $63. Steep for the quality we got. Won't be back.
