I've had Nopa on my list of SF restaurants to try for a while now and was excited to come for a random Monday dinner. We ordered family style between 4 people and share the duck rillette, stracciatella with apricots and pecans, mushroom flatbread, fried chicken, and roasted cauliflower. The highlight of the night were the duck rillette, served with crusty thick sourdough bread, a delicious kumquat marmalade and fresh mulberries. It's mulberry season right now and I had just gone mulberry picking the past weekend so it was fun to see them on the plate. I also enjoyed the fried chicken with chili honey which was great for sharing and a large portion! I didn't get much Moroccan spices in the chicken but it was battered and fried well. The mushroom flatbread did fall flat for us as it was pretty dry and needed something else to give it more flavor. I also got the seven sisters cocktail with tequila, vermouth and green chartreuse which was great and a good choice if you want something more spirit-forward. Overall worth a visit for classic Californian cuisine. They specialize in farm to table which you can really see with the seasonal, ever-changing menu.

Salmon crudo - 5/5 this dish was so delicious. It was a perfect medley of flavors Bread and butter - 3/5 was good but I'm not sure if it's truly worth the price Duck mousse with strawberry jam - 3/5 duck mousse doesn't have a strong flavor, strawberry jam was overpowering Burger - 2/5 the patty when pressed had juice flowing down but then was dry?? I strongly desired a salad. The fries also like some other reviews did give in n out vibes -- just potato. The waitress was nice. The main problem though is that they really rushed me to finish the appetizer because the main was coming out. 3 people tried to take away the dishes I was still eating to serve the main. I really unappreciated being rushed.

Super cute spot to eat for dinner with an indoor (super spacious!) With an upstairs even! And outdoor seating as well. Made a reservation through Open Table and was really grateful that even though we had to add one more to our reservation a bit late, they were able to accommodate us. I was so surprised to see the place getting full by 5:30pm and within minutes, the place was packed! The vibes were lively, but tame, and is a great spot for a date or a meet up with a group of friends. On the menu - you'll want to try the beans. Apparently while the menu changes daily based on what is freshly purchased and available (so cool!!!), the beans have remained a staple! Definitely try! I appreciated the non-alcoholic spirit options and the desserts too! Word to the wise tho - desserts are difficult to share, mostly because you're going to need to dip your spoon in a few times. It's not easily divisible, if you will! The desserts were okay. A bit pricey for what we got, but if you want a sweet treat, it's a good way to go!

After hearing so much about the burgers at Nopa, I finally got around to trying the out, and I gotta say I was a bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the burgers are solid. But for $30, I would have expected a more flavorful party, or a more interesting sauce... Really anything that would have made the dish more memorable. The fried chicken was also good but not mind blowingly amazing. The service was great though, as was the upscale ambience with its demure hipster vibe.

It was nice to come here to catch up with friends. The food was pretty good, some dishes better than others. The staff is nice. They have a coat/ bag check. The space is airy and inviting. The warm olives were very good. They melted in my mouth and the bread was delicious. The steak was too chewy and spicy for me. The lettuces salad was also very good, crunchy lettuce and I liked the dressing. My favorite dessert was the chocolate malt ice cream, so unique and actually tastes malted! The cookies were good too and I'm glad we got both so can eat them together. Overall nice place, a little pricey but would come back again for a special occasion

Nopa needs no introduction at this point and fully lives up to its reputation as a true San Francisco institution. The room is always bustling with a great energy, and I really appreciate that they deliberately hold some spots, whether at the bar or at the communal table, for walk ins so it still feels accessible even without a reservation. Staff are consistently super friendly, and their food and beverage menu is pound for pound one of the best in the city. Sharing is absolutely the way to do Nopa. Splitting plates with a group lets you build that perfect bite from a little bit of everything, and there are several dishes I consider must orders. The Bread and Butter is a staple, especially with Josey Baker bread (IYKYK). The duck liver mousse is another favorite, always incredibly creamy and rich, with accoutrements that change seasonally but always pair beautifully with their charred, crusty bread and whatever compote is in season (was huckleberry on my most recent visit!). Do not sleep on the grilled broccoli either. It sounds deceptively simple, but the combination of lemon, anchovy, and breadcrumbs makes it ridiculously addicting and one of those plates you find yourself going back to over and over in between bites. And of course, their much acclaimed cheeseburger more than deserves the hype, standing easily among the very best burgers in the city with its perfect balance of a hefty but juicy patty, melty cheese (Gruyere FTW!), a beautifully toasted bun and a full spread of toppings like their pickled onions as well as their horseradish sauce that ties everything together. For larger plates, it depends a bit on group size and how hungry everyone is, but my go-to's include the pork chop and Yaya's Fried Chicken. The pork chop is hearty and cooked perfectly so it is still super juicy, with deeply flavorful braised greens and a fruit mostarda-like accompaniment that really makes the whole dish sing. Yaya's Fried Chicken is brined and fried to perfection, with a shatteringly crisp crust, super moist meat, and Moroccan spices in the batter that really amp up the flavors overall. All in all, Nopa is one of the absolute best the city has to offer and a must visit for both tourists and locals alike. It is the kind of place that makes you excited to eat out in San Francisco and one I will keep recommending over and over.

Gosh I really wanted to live this place. A better mocktail than the two boozy drinks my friends ordered. And a very cozy, social atmosphere. Every other table felt like they were in a picture having a lovely evening as friends. Food was more of a miss. The biggest let down was the steak which came out cold. They offered to reheat it or get us something else on the menu. The fried chicken we got to replace it was good but I wouldn't order fried chicken here again. I want to try again! For being a veggie-forward menu, there is still promise just not tonight.

If you're looking for protein but make it fancy, this is the place to be. This is a lively spot on Divisadero, even on Monday evenings the restaurant is full of people enjoying a delicious meal. We tried a handful of items, and they were all spectacular but the only twist is the menu changes everyday so it will keep you wanting more. Be sure to ask your server for some advice because they know what's best. The portions are quite large, try to leave room for dessert as the pastry chef is showing off all her skills. The only feedback I have is the restaurant is incredibly loud. Listening to tech bros while having a romantic dinner is not always the mood.

What an amazing experience for my birthday. My friend made dinner reservations for us here, and it ended up being an absolute delight from start to finish. I enjoyed every second and every bite. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance of warm, fun, and luxurious all at once. A wine concierge came to our table to help us indecisive folks choose a bottle, and we ended up trying something none of us had ever had before--orange wine. From there, we ordered the bread and butter and the lettuces. Since there were three of us, they kindly adjusted the bread order so everyone got their own portion. For our mains, we each ordered something different so we could share, and wow... everything was incredible. Their menu rotates daily and is printed fresh, plus they offer additional off menu specials. That night's special was a roasted half chicken--perfectly seasoned and so flavorful. We also ordered the pork chop and the steak. The portions were generous, and every bite was worth savoring. The steak was beautifully tender and savory, and the pork chop was the thickest I've ever seen, cooked to absolute perfection. Nothing disappointed. For dessert, we shared the crème brûlée topped with guava jellies and fresh fruit--a fantastic finish. They even surprised me with a birthday candle on a scoop of ice cream, so I got to make a birthday wish. It was such a thoughtful touch. What an unforgettable dinner. I highly recommend coming here and experiencing this restaurant for yourself.

We had such a great dinner at Nopa on Divisadero. The food was full of flavor, everything tasted fresh, thoughtful, and beautifully prepared. I ordered the huckleberry mocktail and loved it it was balanced and really refreshing. My friend tried the carrot mocktail, but unfortunately she didn't enjoy it and only took a sip or two. The service was extremely attentive. Someone was consistently stopping by to check in on us and refill our water, and we felt very cared for the entire time. The space itself is cozy and comfortable, whether you're sitting indoors or outdoors it has that warm, inviting neighborhood feel. We were so stuffed by the end that we couldn't even look at a dessert menu! Overall, such a wonderful experience and definitely worth coming back.

Service 10 out of 5 Fantastic, friendly, fine dining level! Ambiance 5/5 Comfortable, hip vibe, energetic! Food 3/5 All dishes seemed to lack flavors. Excited to read that Yaya's chicken was supposed to have Moroccan spices but sadly it did not show. The chicken was well brined, though. The portion of porchetta was generous but the pairing w the tapenade was not interesting.

Our group of 3 showed up for our reservation at 5:45pm on a Saturday, and were promptly seated. The space is pretty dimly lit and intimate, and most of the seating seemed pretty comfortable and spacious, though our table was located in a a corner that was a little more cramped. Service was friendly and checked in frequently to see if we needed anything new and pour us water. We got the dungeness crab, pork belly, brocolli, and flatbread to share - everything was good but not too special or unique, and strangely the presentation seemed to be aiming for upscale but came out looking more haphazard, and the crab did have some tiny bits of shell mixed inside. For the price, the serving sizes seemed smaller than you would expect. The Maize Runner cocktail I got however, was really tasty (and also strong), but the combination of the pear, corn and sesame was really unique and fun. Overall, Nopa has a nice ambiance, and on paper, really interesting dishes - though the execution seemed to miss the mark for us. I typically prefer sharing multiple small dishes over getting a large dish each, but looking at the other reviews, it seems maybe the large dishes might be more promising. Perhaps I'll give it another try and avoid the small plates next time if I happen to be invited to Nopa again.

Came here on a Saturday night and it was packed! Highly recommend making a reservation. It's a nice restaurant; great for a date or with friends and family. We ordered the cauliflower leak soup, smoked mussels, agnolotti, and leg of lamb. The mussels were sooo unexpectedly good; super flavorful and delicious! Agnolotti was stuffed with pork with a mushroom cream sauce; one of the best dishes of the night! Leg of lamb was sliced and moist; it tasted very Mediterranean with the yogurt sauce. We got a couple cocktails, which were also good. Service was great and the food was delicious! Highly recommend giving them a try if you're in the area.

Will I be too formal/overdressed in a mint sleeve button down shirt? Is it that casual? I'm scared people will judge me for that?

Definitely not. No one will care what you're wearing, especially a button down shirt. Half the people there are corporate folks wearing button downs, the other half are people like me going in with a t-shirt.

Not that I saw on the menu. It was your typical Hunan style but it was fantastic and the staff was on point.

Do they have a happy hour?

Is this a gluten-free friendly restaurant, and are there a lot of options? Tryna look out for friends who are gluten sensitive—it sucks when you go to a coveted place and all they can have is "GF" salad!

Yes! I think it is a very friendly place for all allergies.

Lore's Wonderland escape room was a fun and delightfully whimsical experience. **This review is…read moremainly for the escape room, as we did not order any additional drinks outside of the escape room.** THE SPACE // Lore Speakeasy and Escape Room has cool themed decor everywhere, from the dimly-lit speakeasy/bar room in front, to the Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings-themed board game room, to the individual bathrooms, and of course the escape room's multiple Alice in Wonderland-themed rooms. Clearly a lot of effort went into building these rooms and evoking a certain vibe for each. THE ESCAPE ROOM // The puzzles in the escape room varied in difficulty - some required us to think a bit more, some required our observational skills to work harder, and others required a light level of physical skill/movement. We were perplexed a few times but never got stuck for too long, as the White Rabbit (played by Phoenix, the live actor/puzzle master) would jump in occasionally to provide clues over the speaker or in person. It took us about 1 hr 20 min to finish the entire escape room; I thought the pacing was good. THE [ESCAPE ROOM] DRINKS // Lore's escape room experience comes with "a flight of themed cocktails or mocktails, including "potion"-style drinks that are integrated into the experience as you progress", per the website. We got to choose one cocktail/mocktail option (Korean Cold Noodles) from a list on the website, and the other two drinks are pre-selected to supposedly fit into the Wonderland theme, with the flavors described online as "berry" and "peach". You can get both cocktail and mocktails for your party, in case some people want alcohol and others don't. We all enjoyed the flavor of the Korean Cold Noodles cocktail, which was refreshing and surprisingly a bit minty in the mocktail version. However, we didn't like the two other two pre-selected themed drinks as much. The "berry" drink gave us cherry cough syrup vibes, and the cocktail version of it was quite strong. The "peach" mocktail drink reminded me of canned fruit syrup; we also were missing the two cocktail versions, though we decided not to ask for them as the mocktail version already was less than impressive. One other missed expectation here was the size of the drinks that we received in the escape room. We were expecting full-sized cocktails, like what they serve in the speakeasy in front. Instead, we found out that the drinks are served in small "vials". Given the size of the drinks in the escape room, combined with us not even enjoying two out of the three drinks, I would preferred to go through the escape room without the drinks at all, and likely pay a bit less for the escape room then. OVERALL // I'd still recommend the escape room as a good one-time experience with a date/friends/family. Just don't expect too much from the included themed drinks! The speakeasy drinks on the main menu do sound unique/tasty, so I might come back again to try those sometime.

The 2nd visit the service was impeccable, everything went exactly as we had hoped. We will be back. We can recommend the scallops and the Salmon, the chicken was very tasty. Also, for the food, I recommend the dips and the fresh pitas, so good. We'll be back just for that. Reminds me of the old Berkeley restaurant years ago, Holy Land (IYKYK). Mmmm. Thanks!

The sandwich comes with a small dressed salad and three tomato halves. It was nice. The potatoes served with the sandwich were roasted but served cold and dry. Like they were left over from the night before. Randy enjoyed his mocha. We shared a very dry, flavorless except for the two small bits of jam in them, "cheese" danish. Definitely skip this $7 item that you could get at a circle k for $1.50 and it would taste fresher. You order when you walk in and someone delivers your order and then you're left to fend for yourself. We were able to locate some ketchup for the potatoes on our own. Nobody ever checked on us. This is the second place on this visit that's charging an extra 5% fee so that their employees can have a living wage and health insurance, which absolutely, every employee should have. With the prices they charge, they should already be able to do that, though. I read an article about this fee with many different names and I would rather pay a bit higher of a price and know the employees were taken care of than be surprised by this fee later. Two sandwich breakfasts, a mocha and a danish on top of tax and their healthy sf fee was $63. Steep for the quality we got. Won't be back.

Good drinks and snacks, seating is limited so might need to wait a while or opt for the outdoor standing section on weekend nights. Firepit couches are nice if you are able to grab one! Would be a good stop to kick off the night but not really close to a lot of other great cocktail bars in walking distance since this area is kind of dead except for Giants game days.

Unfortunately, our experience started off on the wrong foot before we even made it upstairs. When we arrived, the doorman, a tall, heavyset gentleman, was eating and did not acknowledge us as we approached. I politely asked if the restaurant was open, and instead of simply answering the question, he responded that it wasn't a restaurant but a rooftop bar, adding, "I don't know where you got that misconception." I found the comment unnecessarily dismissive and somewhat condescending. As an educated woman visiting with my husband and our minor daughter, I felt there were more professional ways to clarify the venue's concept. Rather than engage further, I chose to ignore the remark. He then pointed us toward the line, despite there being no one else waiting, and pressed the elevator button with an attitude that made us feel like we were inconveniencing him simply by being there. First impressions matter, and unfortunately this interaction left us feeling unwelcome before we even had the opportunity to experience the venue itself. Hospitality begins at the door, and I hope management provides additional customer service training to ensure future guests are greeted with courtesy and respect.

I went in before the game the place was somewhat Vibing they had a balcony, fireplace, different seating areas and a bar, and they serve food. It wasn't that busy so the bartender came right over. I think his name was Dominic and he got me an IPA. The first time I went I also tried the deviled eggs (3) and they were cool. I have to say my buddies tried the chips and salsa so it came with some guac salsa and a bowl of chips. It was pretty good too. a , but after the game we came back in the place was still a vibe. It was cool and we are went back a few days later for another game with another buddy and sure enough it was cool this time I had a margarita and the expert Cadillac and he floated something like some triple sec in it and when we inquired about the Grand Marnier with him, he got a little attitude although the female bartender said that when she made Cadillac margaritas, she used grandma Marnie, so that was interesting but other than that, I would recommend a spot.

My martini ($13) was really good, I especially loved the olives they use here. I like the lounge style seating, there were couches, nooks, and chairs arranged in a very comfortable fashion. There were a decent amount of people inside for a Thursday night, mostly small groups of friends or people on dates. It's a really nice atmosphere, very relaxed and inviting to hangout in. Everyone in the bar was weirdly attractive and dressed well for San Francisco and that added to the vibes for sure too lol. Friendly bartender and good cocktail menu, they also have a kitchen for small bites. I am definitely coming back!

After a park day at the Presidio, we wanted to move the party and we decided on Bar Darling. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was jam packed. Luckily we were able to get some space in the alley way for us to order drinks from our server. We've been on a Friday around 5pm on another day, it wasn't as busy, so definitely a great place to start and maybe end the night. In a time where craft cocktails have gotten really expensive, Bar Darling offers craft cocktails (their signature cocktails) all for $14 each. If you know Peacekeeper, you know there's a lot of thought and imagination that goes into their drinks and it definitely shows here. My favorites were the Mama J (tequila based) and the Jaji (mezcal based). The aesthetic and vibes of this place is 10/10. Definitely great for a group of friends and/or date night!

Drinks had almost a "watered down" flavor to them, not sure if the bartender was just having an off night or if they got too busy to maintain standards or what happened, but it wasn't a good beverage and certainly not worth the price. Even at 7pm it was packed and could definitely tell people had been there for awhile as there were multiple 20 something year old guys and gals stumbling around, so I guess they found the drinks to their liking (or more likely had so many they really couldn't ascertain the difference). Better drinks and better crowd control and Darling will be just fine. But as I mentioned, they were already packed stem to stern at 7pm so my guess is they're doing just fine already.
