Piccino's is a great neighborhood restaurant. My favorite pizza to order here is the funghi with an egg. The crust is thin and topped with lots of umami. Dip a slice into the egg yolk and....wow. The menu is seasonal so the pastas can be a hit or miss. When it's a hit, boy is it a hit! Loved the savory pastas we've enjoyed. Fried brussels are good appetizer. Service is always good!

Nice to have been greeted by the owner Cher who saved us a preferred corner spot and then was gracious as my business companion from Lemon.io wanted an outdoors spot - which was great! Ate outside at lunch and ordered two items: fresh fish $38, and the apricot pizza medley $27 plus a couple of caffeinated drinks and an Italian Chinottq (like a light coke that tastes like a Negroni), and with taxes, tips and surcharges was $115.

Food was very good! We had the focaccia bread 3 orders it was so good! We ordered two pasta dished and a pizza. Service is slow but the place is busy! Decor was very good and place was very clean. This had a very nice vibe to it. Great flavors in the sauces that we dipped the bread in it.

Definitely coming back for more! Delicious small bites and entrees. Each dish was flavorful, light flavors, yet so refreshing. Highlights were the sardines on toast, beet carpaccio and funghi (with the calabrian chili being a nice addition). Great service throughout the entire night. A good spot for intimate to large gatherings.

First off, it's actually a really nice spot in the Dogpatch neighborhood. The lighting is dim, but not too dark, just cozy with an open kitchen. The servers were attentive and friendly. To keep it short, the food was good, but not worth the price. FOCCACIA: Comes with olive oil. Overall not very noteworthy and there was a scent that was not pleasant, I would skip. FETTUCCELLE: A vegetarian pasta with squash and sage in a creamy sauce. While I did enjoy the flavors, a portion of pasta for $30 that I could have finished in 4 bites is overpriced. PIZZA FUNGHI: Pizza was packed with mushrooms, but it was mainly salty. Paper thin crust, but not in a bad way. If I came back I would try the other pizzas because I think they have potential with their topping choices. GIANDUIA: Cubes of chocolate cake with goat cheese gelato covered in a crunchy chocolate shell. Both my friend and I didn't care for the chocolate cake pieces. It was really dense and cloyingly sweet. The goat cheese gelato didn't have the creamy consistency of gelato, it was just an icy dairy dessert that tasted like goat cheese. I really only liked the feuilletine-like wafer pieces and nuts. I'd recommend to skip this one.

Came here with a co-worker for a catch up dinner on a weekday. It was easy to find parking in front of the restaurant but on a weekend, you might want to ride share as parking spaces are very limited in the area. We had reservations so checking in and getting a table was quick and easy. The staff were wonderful with customer service and we felt welcomed. We decided to share plates rather than do individual entrees and it was the best thing you could do. Their menu changes per season and I cannot find the pistachio dessert you see in the photo but that was BOMB! The pasta dishes were very flavorful and fresh. Overall a great experience and very buzzing.

Solid place for a girls lunch! Hard to find parking though. Food was great - seasonal green salad was so crunchy. Pasta were on point with their flavors - we also had some pizza! Forgot which one but the one with sausages - we asked for red sauce with it which was a good choice. Server was very accommodating. Sat outside and it was beautiful but a little hot. Next time I would opt for indoor seating.

Was happy to take my parents to a neighborhood they never explored in SF for good food! We were quickly seated since we had a reservation but it looked like first round of dining ended around 6:30 PM and there were plenty of tables open as we left. Love the modern farmhouse vibes of the place. We ordered the focaccia, funghi and persimmon pizzas, polpette, and Brussels sprouts. The focaccia was so soft on the inside. I was quite surprised by the persimmon pizza, because I've never tried that on pizza before. But the sweetness of the persimmon slices really helped mellow out the goat cheese flavors for anyone who might not like that strong gamey taste. Not sure the polpettes (meatballs) were really worth the price though.

Piccino has been around since 2006! Started out as a Cafe, serving coffee and pizza. Evolved into a restaurant and cocktail bar with a coffee house attached to the side! Most of the produce is grown locally in Healdsburg. Upon walking up, the outdoor area caught my eye I loved the decor, the heaters and the lights in the trees outside it created such a great cozy vibe to me. That day we were looking at reservations early in the day and there was tons but then as 5 o'clock rolled around there was no more reservations open so we just decided to walk in and see how it went. We were seated pretty quickly outside, thankfully under the warm heater. I love Italian food so much and I was so excited to try this spot. Their menu rotates a lot which is always a plus. We loved that they had NA options for drinks. For starters we tried the burrata! So good, def a diff combo than the usual I have had but still the flavors made it amazing. For our 2nd item we ordered the Pizza Fungi which was sooo good the crust was so crispy and thin loved it. And last we tried their Gnocchi pasta which tasted so fresh and had me thinking about it for days after this visit. I hear good things about their breakfast and can't wait to be back to try it. Staff was so attentive & the place got super busy after we arrived. Can't wait to be back.

We tried their 3-course menu during Valentine's Day and the experience was fantastic! We loved their duck leg and the chocolate dessert so much! The service was also nice! Would love to visit again to tried the pizza!

Ambiance - 5/5. Super cute and warm environment. Great for chatting over wine and bread. Appetizers - 5/5. We got the focaccia and the pole beans. Delicious! Pastas - 3/5. Unfortunately I wanted to like these more than I did! We got the "fusilli alla nerano" (fried zucchini pasta) and a squash/sage pasta (don't remember the actual name). Both the pastas didn't have the nice chew I expect from freshly made pasta. The sauces needed salt and had a slightly grainy texture. Not sure what happened! Dessert - 4/5. We got the zeppole. It came with a cinnamon apple compote. These were good, not very sweet. I would return for the cozy ambiance and load up on apps, and maybe try the pizzas.

Famous brunch spot in San Francisco, and there's another one near the Golden Gate Bridge~ We ordered the signature mushroom pizza, the mushroom aroma was super intense, the crust was thin but crispy! The fig pizza was pretty unique, but personally I prefer the savory one a bit more~ The fries with the fried chicken sandwich were delicious, the beef and pork meatballs and French toast were kinda average~ It's a brunch place I'd wanna revisit!

Came by a Wednesday with a friend and there were tables available. We ordered the pizza Margherita and the Chicocciole pasta. The pizza was ok, but I wasn't a fan of the dough (it overpowered the rest of the flavors). The pasta was watery and the sausage very salty. The pasta itself was a bit less cooked than al dente. Overall, the service was great and the staff was very attentive, but I wasn't a fan of the food. However, would be down to revisit to try their brunch menu. The have some nice outdoor sitting too!

Ask the Community - Piccino Restaurant

Is it still advisable to get a reservation for a midday lunch, on a weekday?

Do they have vegan options available? What kind?

It appears some appetizers, salads and entrees are vegan or dairy could be omitted. Perhaps the pizzas could be made without cheese. I suggest checking with the restaurant to confirm.

    Are there heat lamps outside?

Yes! And they have lovely covered areas that are sheltered from the wind.

Do we need a reservation for a table for 2 tonight or can we just walk in?

We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

It takes a lot for me to consider a return visit to a cocktail bar. Most of the time, I just begrudgingly go along with my friends to a mediocre bar, but Blind Pig is a place I would enthusiastically return to again and again. I first got the namesake cocktail: Blind Pig. It was incredibly well-balanced, and the flame presentation upon arrival was an epic mini show. Later during last call, I decided to risk it all and roll the dice to order from the secret menu. I rolled a 5, which got me a wine & Japanese beer concoction with Sichuan peppercorn. Totally feel like this cocktail was made for me, as I rep the 川渝 region. The drink was strong, but that made it all the better. Seeing that it was named one of the top 50 best bars in North American, we had to check it out! We came in a Thursday night in mid-April about 9:45 PM. They have security outside thar checks IDs & also manages the queue in case the bar gets too crowded. We had no issues getting in, but there were zero indoor seats available - both the bar & table seating. Thankfully, they have a really cozy & well-lit patio area. The waitress let us know that even the outdoor patio has table-side service, so we made ourselves comfortable on the outdoor bench & within seconds she had brought us waters & cocktail menus. Weather outside was really nice, so I'm glad we actually sat outside. Each cocktail is $20, which definitely is a little steep, but I think the creativity, quality, & prestige of being named a top 50 bar supports the price. Each part of the menu is organized by liquor ie whiskey, vodka, brandy, gin, etc. We tried 4 drinks total. I only took menu photos of the pages we ordered from but they have a lot more selections.
