Came by with my Hb previously for our brunch date. I picked this place to try purely by its funny name. Here's what the web has to say: "Horsefeathers is an old-fashioned American slang term meaning nonsense, rubbish, or a polite way to express disbelief. It combines two incompatible things--horses and feathers--as a playful euphemism for a cruder vulgar expression meaning "bullshit"." I also found out that "Horsefeather" is a beloved local highball drink in Kansas City, made with whiskey, ginger, bitters, and lemon. Either way, I feel that the folks here have a sense of humor to name their place as such. The restaurant/bar is smaller than I expected but it's narrow and long, with an indoor/outdoor seating areas. We sat near the back and it feels intimate and charming. Slightly dark, moody vibes. On this visit, we had the Queen of Hearts NA cocktail. It was slightly sweet but not too much, tart, bubbly, delicious and non-alcoholic. We shared the Miso Radicchio Caesar Salad +avocado, Tomato Avocado Toast +egg, Chicken Wings (gochujang), and Duck Fat Fries. Food was delicious. Had a wonderful brunch date. We sat next to a party of 8 and they were very lively. Service was friendly. Located on Divisadero St between Fell and Hayes.

Horse feather is a solid 4 on my scale, like zero hesitation, the kinda friend you call when you need help moving or something. Solid through and through. I'd definitely be back again. I got the katsu sando and shared a BLT with my friend. Both sandwiches were hefty and well packed. I honestly think the BLT tasted better due to how healthy it felt, the katsu bleeds out some oil and juices but still provided a great flavour. Duck fat fries are a must, they taste kind of how you expect them to as well as giving you that comforting feeling as well. The interior has nice seating and would advise sitting inside, service was friendly!

What a quaint spot in Palo Alto. The decor looks thoughtful and modern, but homey. It has a beautiful bar area. The restaurant is in the Town and Country Village plaza so it's not too hard to find parking. It's in one of the corners of the plaza so it feels nicely tucked away. We decided to come for brunch on a Sunday and was seated right away. Their menu is small, but that means each option is unique. We got the BLT and the Soft Scramble. The BLT has their signature umami bacon, which is a candied bacon with an interesting seasoning that includes things like mushroom powder, seaweed powder, etc to give that "umami" flavor. The bacon was definitely a highlight. The wasabi aioli on the BLT was great too. The soft scramble was overall just okay.

Came to Horsefeather late night looking for some solid eats and left with mixed feelings. Ordered the duck fat fries, double cheeseburger, and some Korean style wings. The fries were pretty standard. The seasoning on it was good, but I wasn't a fan of how short the fries were. The burger was good & the salad it came with was fine. On the other hand, the gochujang wings might've been one of the worst wing flavors I've had in a while. The wing itself was actually cooked well, but the gochujang glaze threw it off. It didn't really even taste like the Korean style yangnyeom flavor that it was attempting to emulate. I really liked the of the ambience of this bar & our waitress was super nice. Would definitely come back for drinks at some point & maybe a burger in the future.

Came here on a Friday night without a reservation and the hostess was nice enough to seat us right away. The fried chicken and three was delectable and the chicken was very moist. Loved the natural light and plants in the space!

Reservation for 7:15 on a Wednesday and it was a full house. Great staff and friendly. Take a look at the food pictures and you see why one thing pops up above the rest. The duck fat fries were AMAZING. I normally don't care for fries but these were skinny and full of flavor from the fat. We ordered one and ended up ordering a second one. The gochujang wings were pretty good but feels like it's missing a secret Korean ingredient. Tacos were both disappointing unfortunately. First time ever ordering deviled eggs and wasn't the biggest fan. I have nothing to compare It to but as a first timer, I wouldn't order it again. Nice dim restaurant definitely must check out!

I couldn't stop thinking of Horsefeather's Lemon Butter Shrimp after having them at their Palo Alto location. The same side order wasn't on the San Francisco menu which forced me to try something new, & now their Shrimp Tacos are another one of my most-loved dishes. The thick homemade corn tortillas are the perfect vehicle for the plump shrimp, salsa verde, avocado, picked onions, & havarti; I was skeptical about cheese with seafood but it works here. Our other two dishes weren't as praiseworthy. The Loaded Birria Baked Potato was certainly tasty, & while I expected nothing less given its name, it did have "food coma" written all over it. The Crab Cakes were the worst of our trio -- heavy fry, no lump crab, & an overwhelmingly tangy sauce. Bright & airy atrium, which is in stark contrast to the dimly-lit restaurant interior. Once our eyes adjusted to the lack of lighting, we took in the beautiful wood paneling & cool 70s vibe, & decided we'd like to return to this place.

TIME: Came around 6pm for an anniversary dinner, wasn't packed at all. PARKING: tons of parking since this is in a shopping center/plaza, could be full if busier, and it's near Trader Joe's PLACE: love the vibe of the place and the lighting was nice, super cool to bring your family or a date night spot FOOD & DRINK: R.H.C. - tasted a lot like a hot minty drink with a splash of Coke, wasn't too good for me but if you like mint that would be more your vibe. LOWRIDER - the flavors are nice but the drink is super strong so it kind of overpowers everything Umami Fries - super good! Tasted similar to a sort of curry from a Thai or Indian restaurant for the seasoning Crispy Korean wings - honestly tasted like a very average Korean inspired saucy wing, nothing too special but it's served with ranch so that's nice Crab Cakes - probably one of the best things on the menu by far, the crab meat tasted so good and fresh and it honestly tastes like fisherman's wharf lol Miso Radicchio Caesar - was pretty good! I'm not a huge fan of salad or the cheese but my girlfriend loved it Miso Linguine - pretty good, tastes similar to a marry me pasta that I make at home with gochujang and miso paste. Chocolate Cake with Fig Ganache - really mid ): honestly I love chocolate cake but the ganache was like a dollop and it's a huge slice but it's so crumbly and dry, not a huge recommend. OVERALL: definitely for the vibes, food is ok, crab cakes are what I recommend out of what I got, since it was our anniversary the server comped the cake! But honestly not really worth spending almost $200 for a variety of food that was okay

My entree was phenomenal and the ambiance was very cute and plant-y. We were sitting under a heater so it did get hot on the patio very quickly. The service was very slow this day, although they were also busy. It took one hour exactly from when we sat down to get our food. Maybe 20 min to place our order. But with good company, it was great vibes and great food!

Disclaimer: Vegetarian Review Came here for dinner with friends and everything was just ok. We got a bunch of apps which were good, the deviled eggs and whipped ricotta especially. There was one vegetarian entree option which was this mushroom pasta and it was so bland. As you can tell from the picture, was basically sautéed veggies on plain pasta. I've heard good things about this place for brunch so might be back for that but won't be back for dinner for sure.

Pulled Pork Tacos, tuna tataki, coconut curry mussels
    Cathy H.

Came here in a Tuesday evening for date night and got seated immediately since I made a reservation online. We sat in the front section of the restaurant, which had really good lighting. We ordered tuna tataki, coconut mussels, and pork tacos to share. The tuna was really fresh and coconut curry was super flavorful with the mussels. The pork tacos were a bit on the drier side but still tasted good. We each got a cocktail; mine was a featured one that had blackberry and cinnamon (it was delicious). Overall, great vibes and food. Prices and portion sizes were typical and appropriate. Highly recommend trying them if you're in the area and craving New American type cuisine!

We had a great time ! We came in for a grad dinner and tried quite a few entries - duck fat fries (good and crispy), deviled eggs (good) and the wings (excellent and tasty) we then go the 2 risotto dishes which were incredible (top 5 risotto of all times for the shrimp one ). Then taco main was also good albeit a little small for how much it cost . Place is very nicely decorated and atmosphere is great - we will return

super vibey cocktail bar and restaurant that seems popular for drinks & bites! this place is pretty popular so i wanted to check it out. it was pretty booked on a thursday around 7, but i was able to grab a seat at the bar which is first come first serve! all the servers/hosts were super nice and we had a great time sitting at the bar. my friends beer was decent, but the food was kinda hit or miss for me. i did think the tuna tataki was pretty nice. the tuna was so tender and melts in your mouth! i appreciated the light balanced flavors - this dish was very refreshing but the cracker gives u a nice textural contrast. it's not a super punchy or flavorful type of dish, so just know that if you're not into a more subtle flavor profile!! the wings were a standout dish because they were incredible savory, juicy, and tender, even crispy on the very edges despite how saucy they were. they came off the bone so easily and didn't have a single dry bite. i was impressed because wings don't sound like they would be crazy good but these hit the spot! the ranch pairs outstandingly well with the wings. i know that sounds obvious, but i think the flavors of the wings and the sauce are uniquely well suited to one another - more so than other wings that i've tried. my highlight of the meal!! the main letdown was the duck fat fries - i thought they were just okay? they definitely had a unique savory and umami flavor and they came out decently crispy but i didn't really think it was anything special. they were a little soggy after some time as well. i'm curious to try their drinks but overall not sure about the food yet. i'd research before you order here or just come here for the vibes & drinks, as that seems to be what people enjoy the most.

Friendly, great banter, helpful throughout the escape. The escape game is split across multiple rooms with a good diversity of puzzles. Don't want to spoil too much here but they were good challenges. Drinks we incorporated throughout and presented like test tubes that were drinkable in a gulp, kind of like a cocktail shot. Personally, I found the first two drinks to be a bit too sweet, but I liked the third, which was coconut forward. The price is definitely a bit more costly. It was $100/person for a party of five. I understand that it was an escape room + the staff + the cocktails. If you max out the party size, it's about $85-ish per person which I think is pretty solid. Still very unique and fun and glad I got to try it

However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit.
