Starbelly you are truly solid and they could never make me hate you! The Thai style mussels were fantastic and that sauce was so lemongrassy and delicious. I will say what's up with the bread portion...? we ordered extra too and that's what you see in the photo lol. I assume it normally just comes with one piece. Their salads are refreshing and I love their patio on a sunny, warm day.

I found out about this place atvone of the Yelp Elite event and decided to bring my friends here. Great place for a dinner gathering with friends. They have outdoor patio in the back if you prefer the outdoor vibe. Everything tasted delicious. Just wish the salad size was bigger. This was the biggest size that we could get. The bear cup alcohol is just like the Starbucks bear cup. It's so cute so we couldn't say no to it. The drink itself was good so it wasn't just a drink for picture.

I think the brief on this place is it's good but your experience will vary depending on when you are there and where you sit. There's a dining area off back and they looked like they were having a blast. We were upfront at a high top. There was some kitchen noise there and the bartender waited on us. Some mix up on food. Food was well presented and a B+. Chia pudding with onion flavored granola was a little out there.

Solid new American food. Made a reservation for a Friday night and this place was packed. It's very cute inside, albeit a bit tight on space. The Brussel sprouts were absolutely delicious, we got two orders for the table. Also loved the chicken pate, accompanying bread was yummy too. Salmon entree was good, but quite small for the price. Not sure if I was starving but I feel like in general the portions were small. Street parking was a pain, as expected. Service was really slow unfortunately. It was a decent meal, but nothing stood out. Not sure if I would return, but glad I gave it a try.

Came in with three coupons for free drinks / appetizers from art hop and yelp events and they honored them all which was nice! The cocktails and burrata pizza were the highlights for me (even though I ordered the salmon as my main, it wasn't super special). The menu is quite limited but is seasonal so maybe there are more options other times. My absolute favorite was actually the cornbread dessert -- it is to die for seriously! The corners were just ever so crispy and the butter was edible on its own. The patio vibes were also pretty good -- sit outside if you can!

top to bottom: signature chicken liver pate, pan roasted black mussels, rigatoni

Tldr: Pricey but good food and moody ambiance. Good for dinner dates. My friend and I had dinner here a few weeks ago. The food was amazing! The chicken liver pate was extremely buttery and was the star of the dinner. It was served with an onion jam (sweet), a dijon mustard, and toasted bread. It's a very agreeable pate as the chicken liver flavor wasn't that strong. The mussels were spicy and citrusy which helped cut through the fattier entrees we ordered. The rigatoni was definitely the "worst" of the three. While it tasted good, it wasn't particularly interesting and the portion size felt small. The people serving us were also very attentive and were very knowledgeable about each of the dishes. (I didn't know the jam was an onion jam till our waiter told us!)

Went here for dinner the other day with a few friends, and we had the most lovely experience. First off, our servers were super friendly and attentive to all our needs. We ordered quite the spread: the butternut squash soup, deviled eggs, brussels sprout pizza, roasted salmon, pork chop, and the mussels. Everything was so delicious. But the standouts were definitely the mussels and the brussel sprout pizza! The flavors were impeccable! Oh, we also got dessert. We got the blueberry, brown butter, cornbread, and the cheesecake Panna cotta. They were both so delicious but honestly, you need to order the brown butter cornbread. It was so so good. I need to go back just for that! The overall vibe in this place is super cute and cozy. They have an outdoor patio with a ton of plants.

Starbelly was just OK for us. Da Wahini and I were in the area and decide to pay a visit to Starbelly based on the reviews and the fact we had Starbelly bookmarked for a while. Good size venue with a small amount of outdoor seating in the front and additional outside seating in the back covered by a large tent. The inside is more of a bar. Parking...good luck with that. Popular neighborhood with street parking available. The menu here is seasonal, so it changes on a regular basis. I forgot the name of our server, but nice guy. The service was very good. The staff were on top of everything. #StarbellyGrindz: COCKTAILS: ~ SALTY DOG - 4/5 Strong and solid cocktail. All the flavors worked well. I could taste the Elderflower and Grapefruit ~ BEARS, BEARS, BEARS! - 3.5/5 Our server said this was the best drink on the menu, I can't say I agree with that statement. To each their own. Brilliant presentation, possibly just not a fond flavor profile of mine... even though I'm a big Earl Grey fan. This just didn't work for me PLATES: ~ rigatoni - 3.5/5 I thought the rigatoni was OK, slightly better than average, but nothing to rave about. I had a hard time identifying the protein as Lamb. Portion was on the smaller size, not all that filling. ~ ground chuck beef burger - 3.5/5 w/ starbelly salad - 4.5/5 While the Burger was decent, it wasn't all that special. Nothing stood out about it and it was tiny! almost like a bigger slider... The salad was very good. Once is enough for me. I don't need to return; I wasn't a fan of the portion sizes and didn't think the food was outstanding.

Great spot in the Castro with a patio option. I've been here a few times and each experience has been nice. They've first time I went was during a SF restaurant week. This last time I went was during a brunch- They've got some nice options on the menu with fair pricing and great drink selection. Giving some comfort food vibes. The inside has a lot of seating and a bar. The staff are very welcoming and give great service. The patio out back is also heated for those cooler nights.

Came for lunch with a big group, it was nice to be able to make a reservation for such a large group. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. I really enjoyed the chilaquiles and the interior was very nice with a pretty outdoor patio. It can get pretty loud inside, so at times it was harder to hear but overall would come back again!

Tasty, and a good price! I thought the food had lots of interesting flavors. The starbelly bacon pizza ($21) was a good size for two. It had so many flavors going on: bitterness from the arugula, spicy from the jalapeño, savory from the pork belly, and freshness from the green goddess dressing. All the flavors worked well together! We also got the chicken liver ($16). I'm glad I tried it! It's not a dish I have often. The sweet marmalade and spicy mustard paired well with the savory pate. The service is quick and friendly. We got waters right away, and our server provided great recommendations with little insights into how the dishes are made. The ambiance is classy and cute. There's quite a bit of noise in the venue, but I was able to hear my partner well enough for conversation. I went at 7:45pm on a Saturday. It was super busy even then, maybe due to Pride! I had made a last minute reservation on OpenTable at 7:30pm, but I think it was worth it because we were seated immediately once we arrived.

Came here around 8:00 PM on a Friday night with a reservation, and it was packed. We got seated inside at a high top table, and it was rather noisy but we could still kind of hear each other in conversation. We got the Starbelly Salad and the Starbelly Bacon Pizza, and each of us got a Sangria. Sangria: 3/5, a white sangria that was very orange-dominant and sweet. A bit watered down for my taste, and I would have liked to have more variety of fruit included for different flavors. Starbelly Salad: 4/5, I loved the pickled onions and the light amount of dressing. It wasn't overdone and heavy, which I think some restaurants' signature salads can be. Starbelly Bacon Pizza: 3/5, I liked the addition of jalapeños and arugula to this! I wish the bacon was a little crispier, and the crust could have been a little more cooked. The staff were so friendly and warm! Even when our original waiter took their break, our new waitress was so nice and welcoming that we still felt very well taken care of. The food was good - I want to come back soon for their brunch!

Came here for a date night on a Saturday night. We were able to reserve a table through yelp which was really nice. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered by a huge canopy so it doesn't really feel like your outside. It's really nice. The restaurant is really nice and I enjoyed the ambience. The waiter was attentive and friendly. I ordered the spaghetti and the noodle perfectly al dente. They have a great selection of wines and drinks to enjoy with your meal.

The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. We had to send it back but saw them serving it to other people. I eat a lot of seafood and I don't mind a slight fishy taste but this was definitely a food poisoning situation. After that it took a very very long time to get our last dish. Unfortunately when it finally came out, it was a disappointment. The octopus texture tasted like it had freezer burn, then was over cooked, sat too long after it was cooked because they had to make the fries. The fries were fresh but the octopus was dry, cold, hard, and chewy. I've had lots of pulpo before and this was a let down. It was a bummer that we didn't get to eat much and decided to walk somewhere else to finish dinner.

I went in before the game the place was somewhat Vibing they had a balcony, fireplace, different seating areas and a bar, and they serve food. It wasn't that busy so the bartender came right over. I think his name was Dominic and he got me an IPA. The first time I went I also tried the deviled eggs (3) and they were cool. I have to say my buddies tried the chips and salsa so it came with some guac salsa and a bowl of chips. It was pretty good too. a , but after the game we came back in the place was still a vibe. It was cool and we are went back a few days later for another game with another buddy and sure enough it was cool this time I had a margarita and the expert Cadillac and he floated something like some triple sec in it and when we inquired about the Grand Marnier with him, he got a little attitude although the female bartender said that when she made Cadillac margaritas, she used grandma Marnie, so that was interesting but other than that, I would recommend a spot.

My martini ($13) was really good, I especially loved the olives they use here. I like the lounge style seating, there were couches, nooks, and chairs arranged in a very comfortable fashion. There were a decent amount of people inside for a Thursday night, mostly small groups of friends or people on dates. It's a really nice atmosphere, very relaxed and inviting to hangout in. Everyone in the bar was weirdly attractive and dressed well for San Francisco and that added to the vibes for sure too lol. Friendly bartender and good cocktail menu, they also have a kitchen for small bites. I am definitely coming back!

After a park day at the Presidio, we wanted to move the party and we decided on Bar Darling. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was jam packed. Luckily we were able to get some space in the alley way for us to order drinks from our server. We've been on a Friday around 5pm on another day, it wasn't as busy, so definitely a great place to start and maybe end the night. In a time where craft cocktails have gotten really expensive, Bar Darling offers craft cocktails (their signature cocktails) all for $14 each. If you know Peacekeeper, you know there's a lot of thought and imagination that goes into their drinks and it definitely shows here. My favorites were the Mama J (tequila based) and the Jaji (mezcal based). The aesthetic and vibes of this place is 10/10. Definitely great for a group of friends and/or date night!

I'll note that the promotional photos online give a somewhat misleading impression of the ambiance. The actual interior is considerably more modest and utilitarian than advertised. We ended up seated outdoors beneath one of those industrial heat lamps, which was blasting uncomfortably hot air until our server kindly switched it off at our request. That said, the service was efficient and attentive. Our drinks arrived promptly despite the crowd, and the staff managed the busy room well. Nothing particularly memorable about the experience, but perfectly adequate for a casual evening out. A solid four out of five stars.
