Wildseed is a beautiful restaurant that was well lit, decorated with lush greenery and warm wooden accents. The seating is spacious and sectioned off rather than one large open dining room, which allows for different arrangements and a nice sense of privacy between groups. The downside is that this layout seems to leave patrons on the right side, behind the wooden partition, nearly forgotten. We were handed our menus and then left alone for almost 15 minutes without anyone circling back to take our order. When we finally did order, the servers brought dishes to the wrong table and couldn't keep track of who had ordered what. That said, the food, atmosphere, and location could easily make up for it, I would consider coming back if I had to return to San Francisco. read more

I went with my grandmother for lunch. Horrible experience. Service was very slow. No one checked on us at all. That could be okay if the food was good. Everything was awful. We had the soup, masala dish, and bbq burger. I could not even have more than three bites of anything. Nothing was edible except for the very bland fries. I also witnessed a busser/waiter poor two half drunk water cups from people who had left after eating back into a carafe. This is a huge red flag and can get a lot of people sick. read more

This was one of the first vegan brunch restaurants I came across when I move to San Francisco. It was so peaceful and relaxing in the restaurant, and my server was exceptionally friendly. This is a really beautiful, upscale vegan option in San Francisco near Fort Mason. I took my mother for Mother's Day. I realized I had not added seating accommodation to my reservation and tried to call, but no one answered. When we arrived, the hostess told us we would not be able to sit in any of the currently empty booths because reservations were coming in later. We were seated at a table off the dining space near the kitchen, my mom was a little too chilly and the booth didn't have enough neck support. I expressed to the host that though I was sorry I had forgotten to add accommodation, that this was just not the way to handle the problem. I was able to speak to the manager, who had been outside taking orders and was clearly working very hard that day. (Her name is quite uncommon so I'm just going to call her M, but I really appreciate your help!) She asked me what my concern was, and I told her, at which point she asked me to wait nearby while she figured out if she could rearrange some tables for us. The bartender was incredibly kind and served me while I waited, and distracted me from imminent tears by sharing intricate details about each drink he was making. I learned do they have a myriad of health oriented cocktails, with ingredients like turmeric, ginger, and aloe liqueur. The manager returned and said that she had already seated my mother in a new space and escorted me to the table, which allowed me to relax and enjoy the meal. At the beginning of the menu, they list the ingredients that are currently in season, and at the back of the menu, there is a color wheel, telling you the benefits of the colors of food. (Purple foods can assist with memory and brain function!). We ordered the asparagus, which was in season, spicy cucumber, and the Aji grill for two. The tofu that came with the grill for two was my favorite thing that we ate. I think you can judge a vegan / vegetarian restaurant by their treatment of tofu. Perfectly seasoned with a crispy outside and I would come back just for this. The cauliflower steak was also pretty tasty. The cocktails are excellent, we tried the BLACKPINK and my mother tried the espressotini and we were really happy with both. I don't know how popular their bar scene is, but I imagine it would be a nice way to meet other vegan and vegetarian folks over light bites. Our waiter Daniel made sure to give us the Mother's Day special dessert the restaurant had created, which was an avocado Grenache with fresh berries. If the experience had started with less stress, this review would be five stars, but I'm very grateful to the staff for doing what they could to correct it and ensure that we had a great Mother's Day! Overall very tasty! I really enjoyed the Mushroom Bao - definitely my favorite dish we ordered. The bao was warm, the mushroom was crispy, and I enjoyed the pickled toppings. It was a bit spicy. I was browsing Yelp, and Wildseed popped up in my feed, which reminded me I never got around to reviewing it, oopsies. Wildseed has been on my radar since early 2020 when I was still vegan/vegetarian. While I now follow a flexitarian diet, I still largely eat plant-based and always appreciate a good veg meal. My best friend and I visited Wildseed for dinner a few months after I moved to San Francisco. Even though we went on a week night, the Cow Hollow and Marina area was popping, no surprise, so I legit spent an hour finding parking. Never again haha. Now I only take public transit or rideshare. Since it took me so long to find parking, my friend checked in first and ordered the mezze app plate for us to share. After I was also seated, we ordered a round of drinkies and also got a pizza pie to split. The carbonara pizza was on their spring menu at the time, so we opted for that. Ngl I was not the biggest fan of the mezze platter and don't think I would've chosen it myself, but I do appreciate my friend taking the initiative to get us a lil something in advance. The pizza, however, was bomb, and the cocktail was as good as anywhere else, considering SF commands a high bar when it comes to mixed drinks. I would certainly come again for the pizza, drinks, and vibes. Knowing everything on the menu is vegan was a great experience and relief for my sister who is vegetarian. Mushroom zeppole - (10/10) Everyone's favorite dish! Crispy, warm fried mushroom balls paired with an incredibly delicious and refreshing lemon herb aioli. I would go back for this appetizer Masala bowl - (7.5/10) a flavorful bowl with tofu and grains. The bowl felt a little soupy? It was a lot of sauce but could have used a bit more sustenance inside. Orecchiette alla pugliese - (6/10) not bad but not amazing either. I was introduced to Wildseed at a Yelp event and vowed to return in person because my sample of curried chickpea salad was so ridiculously delicious. Not to mention the restaurant itself is beautiful and a vibe in itself. I visited with a friend where we split the corn fritters and each got our own entree. This was plenty of food for the two of us, although we are normally smaller eaters. Wow, those corn fritters though! I would come back just for those. So perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. As an omnivore, Wildseed really encourages me to eat less meat because they make vegan food taste so good. The only sticking point is that the food is a bit pricier than I'd like to pay for vegan food. I cook a lot at home and vegan ingredients just don't merit the price of dining out here, in my mind. I'm reserving Wildseed as more of a casual celebration kind of spot than a go to and I highly recommend everyone check them out at least once! read more

I tried Wildseed at a Yelp event in Palo Alto and decided to try the San Francisco location. We went during Halloween so it was a fun atmosphere. We started with some drinks. I tried a Bikini Bottom. It had much to be desired...I couldn't taste the alcohol and it had a mild taste. I tasted the other cocktails in the group and we agreed that some could use some sweetener and more flavor. We shared a mezze plate which was delicious and great to share anong 4 people. We also tried a Green Forest Pizza and Peruvian hodo soy tofu skewer. The pizza was tasty and green. I liked the combination of flavors with the arugula. It had an interesting flavor! The Peruvian dish had king trumpet mushrooms, sweet potato, red onion, aji amarillo, shelling bean raguot, soy tzatziki, grilled lemon. I liked the trumpet mushroom which were in large pieces. At first I didn't know what it was. This dish overall seemed really great. We enjoyed our dishes and the burger seemed nice as well. I think we left with full bellies and the staff were nice. I think I would opt for other dishes other than the pizza. The Peruvian dish was filling and had plenty of protein too. read more

To say I loved this restaurant would be the understatement of the year. I was visiting San Francisco from Seattle for the weekend and ended up eating at this gem three times during my stay. I'm always amazed by how delicious vegan or vegetarian restaurants can be. Ordered fries, mushroom pizza, and a spicy pineapple margarita. Fries were perfect, they had a great crisp to them. They also came with 3 dipping sauces, but the flavors were pretty faint. The mushroom pizza was one of the best I've ever tried. I can't tell if it was the oil used or the caramelized onions that made the mushrooms taste like truffles, but it was certainly a blast of mushrooms if you get this. I didn't care for the drink though. The jalapeno and pineapple gets diluted by the ice so it isn't the most satisfying drink. This place is super charming and pulls off a sophisticated interior decor and ambitious vegan menu without being pretentious. Despite items like the Caesar salad, having neither anchovy or real Parmesan cheese, at no point do you feel the meal is lacking in flavor or umami. The pizza at Wildseed is excellent. They offer a gluten free crust alternative and that's actually what we had and I am absolutely amazed about how delicious the pizza tasted. We also enjoyed the BEET POKE as well as the BBQ SMASH BURGER. Food all came out in a timely manner and tasted amazing. The atmosphere and customer service here was on point. Our server Katherine was friendly and attentive. She was helpful and genuine. Took time to answer all the questions we had about the menu. The fries were cooked to perfection (crispy, golden, and so satisfying), and my kale salad had one of the best dressings I've ever had. The smash burgers looked amazing, and the spaghetti Bolognese was a hit too. Everyone at our table (had a group of 8) was completely satisfied with their meals, which is saying a lot given the variety of dishes we ordered. I will preempt this review by saying I would have given closer to a 3.5/4 if the following incident did not occur. Aside from the incident: the restaurant is very spacious with both indoor and dog-friendly outdoor seating (complete with heating lamps and cushions)! Food was interesting, healthy-tasting, in line with the seasons, but could use more flavor. Portions were also quite small given their price. Out of the four items we got, we liked the corn ravioli the most for the robust flavor and texture. Next was the masala bowl which has a great combination of textures. The sausage pizza was quite good - I am impressed at the coconut Parmesan and the jackfruit looking just like sausage. Last was probably the corn fritters which were just bland and a bit dry. Now onto the service... we told the waitress at the very start that one member of our group had an allergy to cashews, and we had made sure ourselves that the items we ordered did not have cashews. Then, because we were celebrating a birthday, we asked for a cake to be sent to the table (we were not provided a menu and just told it was a cheesecake). After putting the dessert down with spoons for all of us, we dug in. Just a few minutes later, the member of my party started having an allergic reaction. We checked with the waitress, and it turned out it was a cashew cream cheesecake, and she had forgotten to inform us. He had to go to the pharmacy and ended up throwing up his entire dinner and otherwise having a rough night. While the waitress did apologize, she just said she would comp the cake, which was already comped because of the birthday... so essentially there was nothing done. Overall, it just rubbed me the wrong way to completely forget about the only allergy that was mentioned without offering to discount any part of the meal at all. Excellent food and customer service with creative quality cocktails. The decor was artistic, colorful, and inviting. Great spot for groups and for date night. I love how they feature seasonal menu items! We ordered the mezze plate which came with a folded falafel with nuts and seeds dipped into three kinds of dipping sauces. For the entrees, the three of us shared the spicy yellow curry which had a nice variety of veggies and a good amount of heat and the English pea ravioli. For desserts - because we all know there's a separate stomach for dessert - the warm beet chocolate cake and the peach tart piqued our interests and did not disappoint! Elevated plant-based dining, so nice we came back twice! No seriously, happened upon this place while visiting and the next time we were in town made a point of coming for lunch. There were so many delicious options that we made dinner reservations as we were leaving from lunch so that we could continue eating our way through the menu. Pro tip: make reservations! Lots of seating, but fills up fast, especially dinner time. Service was fabulous, prompt and friendly. Plenty of water offered on a hot day. Still dreaming of the dishes we didn't get a chance to try. The harvest bowl was my favorite, every vegetable and grain was perfectly grilled and seasoned. I ate half of it before bothering with the sauce (which just made it even more delicious). The pizza carbonara was ok, soft in the center so had to eat with knife and fork since it wouldn't hold onto the toppings. The tempeh bacon was outstanding. It was my second time here and I'd totally forgotten the whole restaurant is vegan! It's been some time since I first visited, it may have been covid when I went last. We came here after a Tuesday night yoga class last week. Originally, Maddy made a res for two but they were super helpful in accommodating us when we added a third on the fly. The vibe inside is nice and they have outdoor seating + heating too. The fog was rolling in so we sat inside at a bar top. Their menu is diverse in its offerings and very seasonally attuned, meaning there's something a little different to try (but also the gold standards.) What I really like about their menu is that, though they do have a couple burgers, they offer so much more. I'm really over vegan options being burgers 75% of the time. Wildseed has delicious bowls, salads, pizzas, and other veggie forward apps and entrees. Everything I've had has been excellent. And I really do recommend eating at the restaurant. Yes they are on the delivery apps but their space is cozy and the service is great. And it's actually very transit friendly with the 22 and 43 being close by for cross town journeys. I've been here three times now and each time it's been pretty horrible. First time, I came for brunch with my friend and they completely forgot my friend's order and only brought my entree. We waited another 20 mins to get hers and it was pretty unfortunate. The second time I came with a group of girlfriends and we ordered the falafel appetizer. I told them I was deathly allergic to buckwheat, they checked the ingredients and told me it was fine, and then I had a horrible allergic reaction and had to go to the hospital. I emailed them the next day and they confirmed there was buckwheat in the falafel. They offered me a gift card as an apology and I turned it down. This last time I came with a friend and really wanted to order the carrot 'lox' but when asked if the bread had buckwheat in it they were unable to confirm the ingredients and I had to order something else to be safe. Besides incredibly slow service and forgetting my friend's order the first time, the inability to give accurate information on ingredients for allergy purposes is highly concerning. read more
