Great food, but not that ideal for larger group a We came with a party of 11 so quite a large group. We were seated at very low tables that you'd find at a club, so you're almost hunched over while eating. I think the food is really good, my partner and I shared the Mac and Cheese with Fried Chicken, The Short Rib and the Steak Frites. I think other members in our party thought that the sauce for the steak was a little too salty, but otherwise delicious. The portion sizes I would say were a bit on the smaller size, besides the mac and cheese which was quite generous. For such a large party though the service was extremely fast.

When you first enter the restaurant, it's dark and smallish, then you realize there is a whole other section when you turn the corner. And then down another hallway, there is another cozy section, further down there is a doorway out to the cozy outdoor patio. The patio is covered so you are protected from the elements. The outdoor space is stylishly decorated with overhead heat lamps in just the right places to keep you toasty. The drinks were perfectly balanced. So much so, that we went a few rounds!! My companion is a vegan so I had to limit myself to vegan options. Even so, their menu did not disappoint!! Service was just the right level of attentive. They left us alone to enjoy our drinks and snacks as we enjoyed happy hour.

We came here before our comedy show and had an early evening reservation, although there weren't many people when we got there, there were various parties coming in while we were seated. There's a variety of seating areas including middle tables in a room, sofas and a patio area, and tables out front, and a bar area, which is nice. We ordered steak and fries, sweet potato soup, and avocado soup with our lemonade and wine. My partner said his steak was fine but a little on the smaller side, and so he wished he had ordered more phone. His fries were fresh and crispy. The sweet potato soup was nice and warm, which was perfect on a rainy evening. And the avocado toast was also good, but a little bit more citrusy that I would have liked. Overall, the food was pretty good and this place is a nice wine bar with good ambiance. We would recommend this place to others.

This is now our new spot when visiting San Fran! Yesterday we celebrated a wedding with our closest friends and family and reserved the outside patio in advance and all the staff were amazing and went above & beyond! The food and drinks were delicious! We had family style dinner that included short rib, salad, Mac & cheese, meatballs and a signature margarita named after the bride. I would highly recommend celebrating any special occasions here including birthdays as they have a beautiful space inside & out for everyone to enjoy. I wish we lived locally to become regulars but hope others will consider dining here especially if you are ever local. Thanks again to all the staff for making everything so special! Will hopefully be back very soon

If you are considering The Patio as your reception after your city hall wedding, just book them! We have ZERO regrets! Val and her team were amaziiiinnnnnggg! The space was PERFECT and reasonable for our group of 60 people. We were able to rent the entire restaurant, have our own curated menu, and name our 3 signature cocktails. Between the inside and outside of the restaurant the place was PERFECT. Plenty of seating for those that wanted to seat and plenty of room for those that wanted to dance. The food was DELICIOUS. We had the calamari, salad, chicken sliders, burger sliders, meatballs, and braised short ribs (which we literally think about to this day). If we could do the day all over again we would! They allowed us to hire our own DJ IG: _iamcastle_ (hip hop and R&B) and bring in our own cake IG: sweetsbyarlette. We didn't feel the need to decorate since the restaurant itself was beautiful. Everything was perfect. I couldn't recommend this location enough!

Nice little place. Went with some friends after an event close by. We got several entrees. All were good except the burger. Not much flavor on the patty, and the bun was so much bigger that it took away from the rest of the burger. The mac & cheese was and chicken was good, and the steak and fries was probably my favorite. Biggest drawback was the portion size. Very small. Most likely the reason I wouldn't go back. I had two entrees and still not full. Worth a try at least once if you're in the area.

We hosted an engagement cocktail/appetizer event on the back patio and couldn't have been more pleased. Val guided us through every step and was there that evening to ensure all flowed smoothly. Food was awesome and the selected wines and beer perfect. Val and team were flexible in the planning and on the evening of the event. Highly recommend!!

I'm a regular at Patio and I can easily say it's one of my favorite spots in the area! The staff is so friendly and welcoming and greet and welcome us every time we come in. The ambiance is so cute, they have bar, lounge, and an outdoor patio to choose from. The patio is pretty warm with lots of heaters, and a section with a fireplace. For drinks there's a lot of good cocktail options, and I've loved the wines I tried there. I also liked the food, have enjoyed the burger, pasta, and steak that I've tried. Overall great place to eat or grab a drink with some of the friendliest staff!

Lovely spot in the Marina for drinks, either inside the comfortable bar/restaurant or on the incredible patio, with its fireplace. I haven't tried the food yet?, but will be. And of course, their friendly cat‍

My favorite meal in SF! Came here and sat on the patio with my girlfriend. Ricardo was so attentive and the rest of the staff was great. Food was fantastic. The steak frites are a great pick and the salad dressings make all the salads really yummy. Atmosphere is also really likely and fun. Highly recommend!

Came on a Saturday around 1pm. Really cute indoor and outdoor patio. The patio has heaters and a nice little fire pit. The place is dog friendly and they also have a neighborhood cat! The food was all really good and came out really quickly! We had the brunch menu and got to try out different foods.. once again, all really good! The staff were nice and friendly. Also very helpful and new the menu well. Would highly recommend if you need a cute lunch or dinner spot with your friends and dogs!!

This spot is a wine bar but they also have a kitchen, which is great since I don't drink wine. Tried the meatballs, Mac n cheese, fries, roasted veggies for apps. Out of these, the meatballs and Mac n cheese were standouts. Entree I chose was the steak frites. The steak was cooked perfectly to how I requested and was quite tender. The fries were just okay, nothing special. Dessert we ordered the Panna cotta and the cheesecake. Highly recommend the cheesecake! The candied pecans and caramel drizzle satisfied my sweet tooth. Service was very good here. They're also dog friendly so I was able to bring the pup to the back patio!

We arrived a little after 5pm. We sat in the back on their patio. It's really nice space with plants and heat lamps. There's a cute neighborhood cat that hangs out. We shared a bottle of red Malbec wine that was delicious. It was 30% off happy hour prices. We also had the avocado toast(covered in paprika so there was no fresh coolness of avocado), roasted vegetables(sour and soggy vinegary), and an order of fries needs more ketchup or sauce of any kind). All of these were happy hour menu items. It was pretty empty when we arrived and only another two people sat outside when we were there. It's such a large space that it did seem odd how spaced out it was and empty. This would make a great spot for a private event in the spring or summer, but since it's January, it's not ideal. The heat lamps helped but people probably want the cozy inside. I wish the food was fresh and original. My problem with the menu is the cocktail item called Rosemary's Baby which is a concoction made with maraschino cherry, pomegranate, and mezcal. It is named after the horror movie so it just makes no sense. Stick with wine.

The burrito salad was alright, could have used a little more flavor in my opinion. I really like the small plates and sharing atmosphere of this place, and appreciate all of the vegetarian forward options. The space is small and intimate, definitely great for a date night or girls night! I will say if you make a reservation (I'd recommend, it's a small place and gets busy) be sure to be prompt as part of our group was running about 10 minutes late, and the servers kindly let us know we only had the table for an hour and a half, which is fairly strict on weekends.

I also appreciated the non-alcoholic options, including my favorite Fentiman's rose lemonade. I would definitely recommend this place, especially for happy hour. My only small critique is the restroom, since the entire restaurant is so classy and chic, it would have been the perfect finishing touch if the restrooms matched the same vibe.

And the service matches that energy perfectly: polished, warm, and present without hovering. And don't skip the cocktails. They're a core part of the experience. Their version of an Espresso Martini was my favorite of the night... and I'm not even a coffee drinker. Foodwise, everything was paced beautifully. We started with their playful "smoke break," a crunchy seaweed cigar stuffed with sweet Dungeness crab and caviar. The agnolotti was filled with ricotta and goat cheese, layered with Burgundy truffle and mushroom, and tied together with an aromatic onion porcini consommé. Warm malted pretzel bread came next with a silky Mornay sauce topped with caviar and mustard for dipping. The brandade of salted cod with light, airy whipped potatoes disappeared in a few spoonfuls, and the dry-aged kampachi mosaic, paired with truffle purée and finished with uni béarnaise and more truffle, was one of those bites you pause for. The highlight was the two-part course: matsutake chawanmushi with crab dashi and browned butter, paired with unbelievably tender abalone finished with a sauce made from its own liver. Closing: Bar Crenn isn't about big portions or spectacle. It's about intention, atmosphere, and a rare level of refinement that still feels welcoming. If you're looking for a special night that feels transportive from the moment you sit down, this is absolutely worth the reservation. 5 stars.

Space is beautiful, low lights, wood paneling, velvet seats, a very relaxing but elegant design. Drinks: Mizuwari - good, this is prebatched and carbonated upon service, nice light fruity flavors with a light sparkling effervescence, whisky definitely more in the background, didn't pick up much floral in this one either but enjoyed it Arlequin - good, nice creamy foamy texture from the egg white, nice acidity, with subtle berry notes, and a whisper of scotch in the finish, a very unique take on a whisky sour Baxter - boozy and on the sweeter side, with a strong cognac flavor in the finish, fruity upfront, a slow sipper Food: Nori Rolls: great, loved the fresh Dungeness crab within the crispy nori shell almost like a wafer texture with just a little bit of rice to hold it together, grab was sweet with a subtle saltiness, chives added a burst of light delicate onion flavor, came with two small pieces per order Scallop Tacos: good, thin slices of raw scallops topped with mildly spiced xo sauce, on a very crispy chip like textured shell, the citrus added a burst of freshness, good but was expecting more of a traditional taco with a tortilla, this was a canape sized bite Pretzel Bread with Mornay sauce - pretzel i believe was a buckwheat base so a bit more dense than i was expecting, nice salty crust, mornay sauce was very tart and acidic with a thin runny texture, mustard forward as well, had higher hopes for this wouldn't recommend if you are expecting a classic pretzel Lobster Roll - served in a brioche bun that was a bit dense and lacked the airiness I was expecting, lobster was also a tad tough and chewy, loaded with bearnaise which was creamy and rich with a subtle saltiness but overpowered by the hot sauce served ontop Paris Breast: highlight of the night, really light airy choux with a slight crisp exterior filled with a delicious lightly sweetened vanilla cream, passionfruit orange and guava in the curd and filling was also excellent and made for an exciting end to the meal. Service was solid fairly attentive, plates and serviceware and water refilled and refreshed throughout. Food was well paced. Drinks took a little time to order but understandable given there were only two bartenders for the evening. Overall Bar Crenn was a little disappointing, other than dessert nothing was particularly note worthy. Cocktails were good but not outstanding, small bites were pretty hit or miss with small portion sizes. Glad i got to try this spot but not likely to return.
