Came to meet Frankie the dog and stayed for the lobster roll. We did not regret it! Also get the truffle fries - they were amazing. The drinks were just okay but the food alone definitely makes this worth a stop if you're in the Marina

4.5 STARS Paws before balls. They're loyal and don't judge...if you want to romance the bottle. A passion project from the owner of Norcina, Frankie's is the hot new bar in The Marina (opened 2/13/26). It's named after the owner's lab who roams around giving love to customers. Open seating indoors and outdoors. M E N U Signature craft cocktails ($16-$22), shooters, i.e. campari + fernet ($11-$14), beer ($9), and wine (list available upon request). Bar bites ($4-$21): Oysters, charcuterie, skewers, flatbread, and sandwiches. No utensils; everything is meant to be eaten with a stick or with your hands. Kitchen is open until midnight. D R I N K S * Fernet Neat ($12) * Hendrick's w/ lemon twist ($20 x2): https://tinyurl.com/4fymhaue Martinis are served with a sidecar! B I T E S * Baked Oysters w/ spicy compound butter (3 pc-$18): https://tinyurl.com/mhtzatym Fav app! Rich, buttery, and tender with a mild briny sweetness. Not spicy at all. * Steak Tartare w/ potato croquette, anchovy spuma (4 pc-$17): https://tinyurl.com/2rk3744a The warm, tender potato mille-feuille nicely contrasted the savory tartare, while the airy anchovy foam added a punch of salty umami. * Sirloin + Guanciale w/ dijonnaise, horseradish (4 pc-$16): https://tinyurl.com/dt4ucedh Enjoyed the charred flavor but the sirloin was dry and overdone. S E R V I C E Friendly and attentive (not busy at the time). A M B I A N C E Swanky bar with monochrome color, plush banquettes, and a regal portrait of Frankie as the bar's centerpiece. There's about ten 2-tops inside and a dozen outside. P A R K I NG Pierce street garage is across the street (closes at 10 pm). I only trek for to The Marina for two reasons: Mishka's and Komeya but now I have a third reason: FRANKIE!

Every time I'm in there is such an amazing experience! It literally feels like I'm having a drink at home. The chef is an amazing and very talented person, the manager Angelo is always so friendly and treats everyone like a friend! Also the food is outstanding, I love the grilled cheese and the lobster roll. At last I can't forget about the main man which is Frank the dog! Is literally the best thing in the world seeing him walk around and smiling while everyone is having a great time!

Absolutely amazing. Just what the Marina needed - great vibes and awesome food. Kudos to Angelo & Chef - 10/10!

Love that Frankie the dog roams around - amazing stuff. Super friendly dog and love the bow tie. The services feels frantic, our group had a drink get spilled on them and other drinks showed up at random 15 minute intervals. Trying to understand what need or niche this bar fills in the marina. Would come back for the eponymous Frankie, but would go to other places for food and drink . Didn't try food but I can see the pizza oven in the back

10/10 great food and service! Our girl Emma runs the show here, makes everyone feel at home, and remembers all of her patrons. The vibes are immaculate and it's the best new spot in the Marina by far. And we can't forget our bartender Jackson, who put together phenomenal cocktails and delicious oyster shooters. These guys have made us feel at home time and time again, providing the best hospitality.

After a park day at the Presidio, we wanted to move the party and we decided on Bar Darling. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was jam packed. Luckily we were able to get some space in the alley way for us to order drinks from our server. We've been on a Friday around 5pm on another day, it wasn't as busy, so definitely a great place to start and maybe end the night. In a time where craft cocktails have gotten really expensive, Bar Darling offers craft cocktails (their signature cocktails) all for $14 each. If you know Peacekeeper, you know there's a lot of thought and imagination that goes into their drinks and it definitely shows here. My favorites were the Mama J (tequila based) and the Jaji (mezcal based). The aesthetic and vibes of this place is 10/10. Definitely great for a group of friends and/or date night!

I'll note that the promotional photos online give a somewhat misleading impression of the ambiance. The actual interior is considerably more modest and utilitarian than advertised. We ended up seated outdoors beneath one of those industrial heat lamps, which was blasting uncomfortably hot air until our server kindly switched it off at our request. That said, the service was efficient and attentive. Our drinks arrived promptly despite the crowd, and the staff managed the busy room well. Nothing particularly memorable about the experience, but perfectly adequate for a casual evening out. A solid four out of five stars.

We were easily able to sit at a booth area inside. We got a lychee martini and espresso martini. When we read some past reviews before coming here, people had mentioned a pistachio espresso martini drink, but we didn't see that on the menu. For $14, the martinis were solid. I love a good lychee martini and this one didn't disappoint. My partner's espresso martini was a bit too sweet for our liking though. It was great for the first few sips, but by the end of the drink it was overwhelmingly too sweet. Overall, I liked the vibe of this place and enjoyed our drinks. I would come back here for a casual drink with friends, and maybe check out their outside area in the back.

The service made up for it though, the staff came by often to check in and make sure we had drinks, which was really nice. Also loved that they let us bring our own food, which was fab for a birthday hangout. Final Thoughts This is a great spot for group celebrations since you can reserve tables and even bring in your own food. I'd come back again if someone suggested it, especially for another group outing.

On the patio, the heat didn't reach every seat leaving parts of the table chilly. Unfortunately, the food seemed to follow the standard set by the furnshings, and was equally mediocre. The short rib was a touch overcooked, though the mashed potatoes it sat upon were lovely. The mac and cheese had a delicious blend of cheeses, but the pasta was too ordinary. The fried chicken that sat upon it was also plain. Service was the bright spot. Our server was warm, gracious, and patient with our large group. For a big dinner group where seating and service matter most, the restaurant has its advantages. But overall I wouldn't give it a recommendation.
