My friend and I came on a weekday evening and were seated immediately. I loved the aesthetics of the wine bar with the dim red lights and intimate atmosphere, but honestly the place was too loud and difficult to have a conversation. Smoked Salmon Tartare: This tasted fresh and was delicately seasoned, and the acidity of it kept it light and balanced. Escargots Gratines: This was personal favorite bite! They were buttery and garlic and basted in a delicious pesto sauce. The bread that went with this dish was perfect to soak up all the sauce. Duck Leg Confit: The salad greens paired with this dish were too salty in my opinion. The duck leg itself had crispy skin and tender meat that was slightly difficult to pull off, and I wish the portion size was a bit bigger for this bite and price. Came here for happy hour with friends and had a great experience! They do an early happy hour on weekends (starting at 2pm), and the happy hour menu prices were great for both food and wine flights. And every dish we ordered was delicious! Off of the happy hour menu, we got the crispy artichokes, goat cheese, flatbread of the day (butternut squash), and 2 orders of croquetas. We also ordered brussel sprouts and escargot. Everything was a hit! Service was wonderful as well. The people we interacted with were French (so it seems like a great place to practice speaking French if you're so inclined). It was topped with chives, served with cornichons. $10 Jamon Serrano Croquetas: good! definitely fresh, because it came piping hot. I had to cut it in half and let it steam for a few minutes. $19 Octopus Carpaccio - pickled capers and pickled peppers, pomegranate: great! very tangy taste, get it if you like sour flavors $29 Duck Leg Confit - Grimaud farm duck leg with gratin dauphinois, salad, duck jus: excellent! crispy skin on duck leg with green salad and radishes helped lighten it up. We got the fried artichoke bites (yummy), happy hour flatbread (which I assume changes depending on day/week/whatever the chef feels like making) and coquettes (not my favorite). I missed ordering the wine flight and the charcuterie board, which looked yummy. As other reviews mentioned, the lighting is a bit dark. If you sit at the bar or closer to the door, the lights aren't as dim as the back. Otherwise everyone is friendly and it felt like this was the neighborhood wine bar. This is not a serious wine bar, which is fine if you are going to have a good deal. Unfortunately this place has neither. They have a great happy hour special ($12 flights) but multiple times I have been here for happy hour and they will charge you full price (especially if you come in a larger group) and you don't see your itemized total until after you pay, so you don't even realize you got ripped off. It also does not matter which wines you order, because they will just pour you whatever they have, and then lie to you about what the wine is. Several of the happy hour menu items were not available so we had the artichoke (the only HH item we had) which was (3.5/5), Amelie salad (4/5), pan con tomate (2.5/5) but I didn't really care for it, beef carpaccio (4/5), champignon flats (4/5) & truffle potatoes (3/5) as I couldn't detect any truffle. I really wanted beef tartare but it's not on the menu anymore. We opted for cocktails instead of wine & I had the Saint German 75 & my friend had the white Negroni. Drinks were pretty good. It's a little dark and cozy but the bar area is gorgeous. The service is just slightly slow but it is quite a rush in here, so that is understandable. We got the wine flight, which is a tremendous deal with 3 pours for about $12. There is a good variety to choose from, and we got a white, rose, and orange wine. They were super delicious and the pours were generous for the price point. We also got the mushroom flatbread and crispy cauliflower. The flatbread was crispy and cheesy. Came here for wine flight happy hour with a friend at opening and it was very unclear as to whether they were even open or not. Opening the menus, which were pieces of white paper in plastic sleeves, I knew I was either in for something great or something terrible. It was, overall, okay. We were seated at a high-top, two person table along the side and given glasses of water to start. These plastic-sleeve menus were hard to decipher, on which types of wine we were and were not allowed to order, but eventually decided upon a flight of reds and whites between the two of us. I am obsessed with Amélie! The staff are incredible, so funny, friendly, and knowledgeable. It seems like a place where people truly enjoy their jobs, which in turn makes for a great customer experience. They have a bunch of smaller 2 seater tables scattered throughout the wine bar along with a few larger tables for big groups. You can also opt to sit at the bar if that is your preference. They do live music most nights which adds a lot to the ambiance. I always order the charcuterie board and it never disappoints! Typically they do a parmesan style hard cheese, a bri, and another soft cheese. This comes along with a variety of meats including my personal favorite, chorizo! The baguette they serve along with the board is always warm and fresh and if you need more they are more than happy to bring it out to you. They also include a variety of jams, mustard, pickles, and olives. I always try to get there before their happy hour is over which is before 6 every day (even weekends). They have a great deal on the board as well as build your own wine flights where you're able to try a variety of different wines. They also have a pretty killer espresso martini on the happy hour and regular menu. The most recent time I went they accidentally poured the wrong glass for me and let me keep that one as well as getting the right one sent over.
