Cozy table for two and excellent wines, with charcuterie plate

Cafe Meuse is my absolute favorite wine bar in San Francisco. It has that perfect 90s San Francisco flair -- intimate, charming, and understated cool. Their curated collection of French and California wines is wonderful (at great price point) and the cheese plates are always fresh and generous, along with other delicious small bites that never disappoint. It's my go to spot for an afte work glass of wine with friends, and it's also where I bring out of town guests to experience that quintessential SF vibe. Located on Hyde Street in Nob Hill, with the cable car passing by it feels like a classic San Francisco. The staff are consistently warm, friendly, and accommodating, which makes every visit feel special. I can't recommend it enough

Have recently been loving coming to Cafe Meuse during the week for a glass or two of wine! The food here is great and makes for the perfect weeknight treat! Service is great and quick especially with the food! Also have gotten some great recommendations on reds here! I would say the best tip, especially with the weather getting warmer, would be to sit outside! There is great people watching and some dogs outside as well if you're lucky!

This place has my fav vibes - very sparkly and cozy and nice :) !! We got the bubbles flight, but the other flights are also super nice deals and are def what we'll come back for. The bites also hit the spot - meatballs were tasty and we always love a fresh burrata crostini. Server was quick and attentive, and it was relatively spacious inside. parking is rough here but when is it not ! Overall would def return:)

I've been to Cafe Meuse twice and both times I've enjoyed it. The wine selection is fantastic, the food is really good and reasonably priced, and the service is welcoming and friendly. I've been seated right away both times; the place is cute and cozy with warm lighting and there's quite a bit of seating at the bar and tables placed throughout the space, as well as tables to sit outside on a nice day. They also have good happy hour prices. Recommend if you're in the neighborhood looking for a delicious glass of vino.

Cafe Meuse was such a cute wine bar, and a perfect spot to meet up for a happy hour. They have $2 off their glasses of wine between 5PM and 7PM, which is not an amazing deal, but better than you will find in most of the city. We ordered a Kir Royale and a bottle of wine which was really delicious. The server was very sweet, and split the one Kir Royale between the two of us in two separate glass which I really appreciated, and didn't expect at all. The cafe is very cute, and had some beautiful decorations for the holidays. Definitely a place I'd like to return to.

This place has a great selection of very decently priced wines. You feel like you are sitting in a wine cellar inside and they also have nice outdoor tables. Their wine flights are awesome - very generous pours for a great price (it's basically three full glasses of wine). Highly recommend. If you want food, they also have a small menu.

Easily my favorite wine spot in the city. Cafe Meuse is a intimate wine bar located right in the heart of Nob Hill. It is right next to the iconic trolley lines so it makes a great people watching spot. Service is always fast and friendly and I have never had to wait to be seated. Food: I have tried both a charcuterie board, a mac n cheese, and a rosemary creme brûlée. All items were a 5/5 and well priced. Wines: I have done both individual tastings as well as flights. There is a good selection to choose from and the staff or so nice and knowledgable in explaining everything. They are also really accommodating in swapping different wines out for something else. Overall: If you are in Nob Hill and looking for some wine, look no further. Just make your way down to Cafe Meuse.

I've never left a wine bar in sf and thought "wow that was reasonably priced" but I came here for happy hour and was so pleasantly surprised!! I paid only $9 for a delicious riesling, the service was great, the outdoor seating is nice - there isn't much more I could ask for!

I was told to check out this place ever since I moved to the neighborhood, and it's truly become one of my fav spots for a weekday bite or to meet friends, catch up and not have to deal with tourists. The staff knows their wine and there's something for everyone in the menu. Make sure to order a flight of wines! The salads are great, the tuna tartar is awesome, both pasta dishes are delicious... but dear Mr Muse, just get rid of the quesadilla on the menu, it doesn't belong with the vibe and it's beyond bland. Aside from that, this is one of my fav spots in the area.

I wanted some outdoor dining one Friday night after a rough week at the home office, and my friend Sam suggested Cafe Meuse, one of his favorite wine bars. Located in Nob Hill (some reviews say Russian Hill, but I think it's just a smidge closer to Nob Hill), get ready to walk up and down some hills to get there, but it will be worth it--I love the ambiance and vibe. It's a hidden gem among the hills and near the Hyde St cable car line! Sam was doing keto so he was limited in what he could order. I shared a mixed charcuterie board ($15), truffle mac n cheese, and burrata bruschetta with another friend and everything was filling and yummy. Sam got the combo plate ($21) which is described as assorted charcuterie with havarti & smoked gouda cheeses, olives, artichokes & crostini. The one complaint was that the bruschetta was gone too fast, and the truffle mac n cheese could've been bigger! I usually don't like truffles (not a fan of mushrooms) but added to something as homey and delicious as mac n cheese, I did not mind it at all! The charcuterie board is large and has quite a bit of pickles, and olives as well as prosciutto di parma, italian dry salami, hot coppa, sopressata, crostini, and cornichons. We also got some wine recommended to us by our server, and each paired perfectly with our shared small plates. This wine bar would be perfect for date night, girls' night, and any night. I will be back, and as it can be windy, I'll be back with a warmer jacket!

I really like the small plates and sharing atmosphere of this place, and appreciate all of the vegetarian forward options. The space is small and intimate, definitely great for a date night or girls night! I will say if you make a reservation (I'd recommend, it's a small place and gets busy) be sure to be prompt as part of our group was running about 10 minutes late, and the servers kindly let us know we only had the table for an hour and a half, which is fairly strict on weekends.

We also ordered the non-happy hour burrata salad and the filet kebab. Our server was very attentive, though our main food items were somehow forgotten and we had to remind them.. but once they arrived, everything was great! I loved the pomegranate in the burrata salad. I also appreciated the non-alcoholic options, including my favorite Fentiman's rose lemonade. I would definitely recommend this place, especially for happy hour. My only small critique is the restroom, since the entire restaurant is so classy and chic, it would have been the perfect finishing touch if the restrooms matched the same vibe.

The people were laughing, the drinks were flowing. It smelled really good, which we would later find out was from the food especially that Mac and cheese. We started off with different wines, some that Tom recommended based on what we told him we didn't like or did like. He apologized for our previous experience and was genuinely a nice guy. Honestly it's very admirable for a business owner to take feedback to heart and want to incorporate it. Plus he's a really cool guy when you get to know him. The staff was busy running around but still made time to come check on us. Our final verdict is we came on a bad day. This time we got the actual Waystone experience. We finally got to try the chicken bites with a creamy aioli, fries with yogurt sauce, and the star of the show was the Mac and cheese. Tik tok did live up to the hype and we will have to come back for one of their jazz nights. Be warned this place gets busy! But it's worth it.

Yes, the wine is excellent..(not selling you 'natural' actively fermenting bottles) thoughtfully curated... the cab franc , interesting without being pretentious. Yes, the bites hit (shoutout to the watermelon salad). But what really makes Waystone magic is the people. Everyone who works here is warm, funny, and present in a way that makes you feel like you belong, whether it's your first visit or your 50th. Live jazz nights here are their own kind of therapy. I once saw a harpist who made me feel like I was floating inside the music. No cover, no pressure, just ridiculously good musicians making the whole place glow. One thing I love: the rotating local art. The walls change every so often as new artists take over, and it completely shifts the energy of the space. You might not love every piece, but that's kind of the point--it's alive, it's personal, and it's supporting real artists in SF. And if you do love something, you can take it home (yep, everything's for sale). Whether you're here for the jazz, the wine, the art, or the people.. waystone shows up with soul. I'd give it six stars if I could.
