Happy Hour $2 Off Wine BTG

We had a great experience at Cafe Mercato! First, our service was top notch. We were checked on numerous times and our waiter was very knowledgeable. The food was very fresh and tasted very good. I had the tagliatelle. It was very flavorful and I'd eat it again. Cafe Mercato is a pretty elegant spot and there were many items on the chefs daily list. The happy hour specials seemed to be very good.

Is it possible to give 8 stars?! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cafè Mercato and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with hospitality. The space was inviting and it was a cozy atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive. He knowledgeable of menu items and dinner specials. We also had a lovely conversation with Giancarlo (the owner) and he is incredibly kind and warm. The menu offered a great selection of Italian dishes. I ordered the Three Fish Trio and it was absolutely delicious -- beautifully presented, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. My husband enjoyed the Three Meat Trio and it was quite tasty as well. We also enjoyed the Molten Cake and gelato (made in house) and this ended our visit on a high note. I highly recommend Cafè Mercato to anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience. We will be coming back and sharing with others to support this fantastic restaurant.

Expensive a** Caesar salad with some shrimp bathed in pristine bottled water and fed gold nuggets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

My two star review is because of how overly priced the food was compared to how small the portion sizes are. Our waiter was super nice and the food tasted fine but $56 for two items and one of them being a salad is absolutely ridiculous. If I had known my small plate of salad was going to be $26 with shrimp I would have just had another plate of pasta! If I am going to pay almost $30 for a salad at least add some more lettuce... I would give this place 1 star but did not want to disregard the good attitude of the waiter. The food was not great just standard but did not taste bad or bland so the 2 star rating fits.

Best Italian food we've had outside of Italy. Recommend the pizza and spaghettoni. Service was impeccable, nice quiet ambiance. Perfect for families. These guys don't mess around, shocked to see so many low reviews. This place is legit! Can't wait to come back.

Really good pizza Blanca, with goat cheese and mushrooms. My gelato was great too. I like this place with its modern vibe.

Whenever I'm in Denver and craving Italian food, this place is my top choice. The pasta is consistently fantastic, cooked perfectly al dente, and the appetizers are always delicious. Even though I've been coming here for eight years, I've never been able to bring myself to try the pizza because the pasta is just too irresistible. And let's not forget about the gelato ... it's absolutely amazing!

We stopped here to try out the food and split an appetizer, entree and dessert. Sadly the fish was over cooked (the tuna) my husband loved it this way, however the ahi should be a bit rare. The salmon was done just right and the two medium size shrimp were a bit dry, I feel they had been prepared in advance and reheated on the grill and that was not a good way to prepare them. The restaurant is charming and the service was good and attentive, we loved the burrata prepared appetizers with lovely peppers and herbed dressing. The crème brûlée was just the edge of being over crisp!! It tasted fine, but next time I would do something more traditional like tiramisu. They have a nice patio though we did eat inside. My husband had a lovely martini made correctly. I gave 4 stars but probably would put food at just 3 1/2. Enjoyable for a quick hit of Italian in the neighborhood.

The check... $60 for an appetizer, pizza, one drink, and a martini

The concept of it being inside a home is very interesting. The food here is amazing especially their Caesar Salad. That salad was so delicious we wanted to order some to go. Now the reason why this place is getting three stars because 1. The service here is horrible! 15-25 minute wait for our server to come back around and check in on us. It wasn't just us either but it was everyone else in the room. Saw a couple that waited about 25 minutes just to be checked up on after being seated. We also never asked for our bill yet and it was given to us without us asking. We wanted to order more food after our entree. Hence why we never got to order our Caesar salad. 2. This one was the most disappointing part of our dinner. We ordered tiramisu for our dessert, once served I noticed a glossy chunky on it, assuming it was maybe crystallized sugar. Wrong. It was a chunk of ice!! The tiramisu WAS STILL FROZEN!! For 12 bucks I can get some better tiramisu at king soopers, Safeway, or any other restaurant honestly. 3. There was an ant in my drink, and we weren't compensated for that. We paid 4 dollars for an ant drink.

We started with the focaccia (with the ricotta and honey on the side) and it was so tasty. My partner doesn't normally like ricotta, but loved this dish! Then, we had the melon salad (very refreshing). We were celebrating our anniversary, and the staff brought out complimentary glasses of bubbly rosé, as well as their special dish, which were the stuffed squash blossoms. This was a really thoughtful touch! For mains, we ordered the tagliatelle with lobster (this dish had a tiny bit of spice, which was fine for us but might catch someone else off guard), and the lamb loin. Both were excellent. Overall, we had a great time! We found easy street parking nearby, as well. My only downside would be that, because this restaurant is so popular, there are lots of diners, which makes for a pretty loud atmosphere. However, this just speaks to how good everything is, so if you think about it, perhaps it's a good sign!

We normally get the Piatti Di Cicchetti (olives, pickled veggies, and almonds), Piatti Di Salumi (prosciutto, salame, coppa), and the Burrata. They all complement each other SO WELL. Pair that with a white wine and you got yourself a time. The 2 course offering for lunch is also phenomenal. I got the Insalata Mista (lettuce, shallot, reggiano) and it's a decent sized salad and very tasty. The Mafaldine (lamb ragu, pecorino romano) is to die for. Such great flavor and the pasta is always cooked perfectly. The service here is always top-notch too. The staff is very well-trained and is on top of everything. Truly a well-oiled machine. The atmosphere here is impeccable too. You can tell that everything was thought of for a great experience: lighting, table layout, decor, etc. It is a great place to bring a significant other, business customers, etc. I cannot wait for my next visit to Tavernetta and I was just there a few hours ago!

We split six plates and were stuffed by the time the celebratory dessert arrived. We started with the burrata, which paired well with apple butter and pickled apples. The arancini was a fusion of Indian spiced cauliflower with mint-cilantro yogurt raita. My favorite of the Spuntini dishes was the Granchio--jumbo lump crab served over a crispy potato cake with butternut squash and a perfect 63 ° egg. We split two Primi dishes: their special of the day pasta, and the Cappellini Aglio e Olio. The Cappellini was amazing--a perfect blend of Indian spices, breadcrumbs, and another 63 ° egg. Yum. If you love scallops, the Capesante dish is not to be missed. These were some of the sweetest, perfectly prepared scallops I have had.

Starting with my favorite and the absolute knockout: The Dry-Aged Bistecca Agnolotti. Think of a ravioli pouch, but smaller and better, filled with meat, sitting in a bed of the most perfectly browned brown butter with thick parmesan shaves on top. You think it's over, and then your server comes and pours a sweet yet vinegary reduction on top. I'm actively eating it for breakfast as I write this. Insane. Will be thinking about this for a few days. The others in the group got the Spicy Lobster Rigatoni Alla Vodka, which is one of their most popular dishes. It was good (we swapped bites), but mine was better. For the table we split a Caesar (which I do wish had more dressing, but I love a dressing so that could just be me), filet mignon meatballs (4 in an order which was perfect for our group of 4), and the tuna and avocado carpaccio. Favorites were the meat and fish. We used the bread to sop up the meat sauce at the end. Lastly, the Chicken Parm Pizza was ordered for the table. Basically, the "crust" of the pizza is chicken parm. I think it's a little expensive for what it was, but I'm glad I got to try it with a bigger group. Can't imagine reordering it, solely for the size and cost, but it was a unique food experience. Drinks at the table included a Barbera, a Chardonnay, a Sangria, and a Spritz. All good. Overall, service was great, restaurant is beautiful, dishware is pretty, and vibes are sophisticated yet unpretentious.
