I double dipped here this weekend after not having had their food for a really long time. I used to eat at the old Wash Park location, but that one's closed now. Over at Crestmoor, you can still get all the pizzas you like, plus they have breakfast too! So after having pizza there one night and remembering that it was still good, we decided to get burritos the next morning. They're only open for a few hours for breakfast, so get there before noon. You can add any topping in the restaurant to your burrito, so there are some great fusion things that can be done if you're in the mood. Or you can just go with the traditional burrito, which works fine. This is the only location where they do breakfast, so be aware of that. But it's a nice option to have for sure. read more

The people taking and making my breakfast order are always friendly and nice. However, the breakfast could be SO much better if the menu creators put a little effort into it. The hash browns in the burrito are just warmed up (like microwaved?) and very dry shredded potatoes. Beige, dry, shredded, thawed potatoes. If there was some way to crisp them up or make them more flavorful and texturally interesting, it would make a huge difference. Their chili has one flavor; hot. Nothing else. Just spicy heat. The burritos are huge, dry, spicy, and bland. I know, you'd think adding chili would add moisture but the potatoes are so dry it just soaks up the chili and you're eating a burrito where the contents are tumbling out. The biscuits are flat and flaky but tough. Tough, flat, white squares. Not particularly flavorful. You just taste the flour and a little salt. The location is so great and the potential is there but the food is disappointing. Make the chili more flavorful and thicker. Fry up the potatoes with oil and garlic salt until crispy. Ladle twice as much of the new yummy chili over it all. Add shredded cheese, eggs, and roll it up into a smaller tortilla so it's more handheld sized. Make the biscuits fluffier, thicker, and don't overmix the dough. Use buttermilk. read more

Basil Doc's had me at Gluten-Free Pizza & Feta cheese. I was impressed with all the topping options, including the: bacon, feta, fig sauce, garlic, green chile, pineapple, combination piled on top of the perfectly thin crust. I rarely have pizza so this was very much a treat. After a very delicious first time experience I'll certainly be back to Basil Doc's. read more

Ordered pick up - was able to feed 6 people after a long day of moving with two pizzas and a bread! The pesto pizza was fine, but would have been better if actual pesto was drizzled on it, not just basil leaves and pine nuts. The boys like the pepperoni pizza. The cheese bread wasn't too flavorful, but the marinara on the side was good and the bread was only $3. Next time we'll go to a pizza place that does a bit more cheese and flavor. read more

Worst customer service. Would not recommend to anyone. Ordered a Mile-Hi salad through Uber Eats, order came and I was disappointed as the online menu and Uber Eats have the salad listed with a mix of romaine and spinach. The salad was only spinach, okay cool. I figured I would call just to let them know and ask them to make it right (idk a coupon for next time?). The person answering the phone was extremely rude and did not provide good customer service. He said "we don't put romaine in our salads and there's nothing we can do" and I explained the company website lists romaine in the salad. Not a single apology just so rude and said to take it up with Uber Eats. He missed the point...the company website saying romaine. Was a jerk about me asking for his boss's info and said "he's going to say the same thing that we can't do anything". This used to be a great place for breakfast back when the Rise n Shine guy was running it. I don't know why the guy left, I'm guessing the owner wanted more rent. Big mistake. Now this place mimics the Rise n Shine guy's awesome breakfast sandwiches, but they're missing the mark, and the employees seem like they're not getting enough support from the owner. My husband and I ordered from the slice platform for pickup. When we arrived I told the employee my husbands name and they gave me the order. They placed our order on the counter and said great, let's ring you up. I explained that we paid online, the employee seemed irritated and asked me which platform. Once we sorted out the payment I got home and noticed cheese all over my pizza. We stated that the order was cheese free as noted when we placed the order online. We called and brought the pizza back and they made a new one but not without telling us that we entered our order incorrectly. I went in today to get some of that tasty Cold brew from Vail Mountian Coffee and Brew, My pup was patiently waiting outside for me, laying down chillin in the shade outside (worker had brought her some water). Meanwhile I had some issue with my card, told that skinny bald tan guy (assuming the owner) that I had an issue and he says nicely "ya just give me what ya got" I said thank you and left. Grabbed my dog and got in the car, realized I had money in my car, I went back in to give him a couple dollars for a tip. I walked up and he is YELLING to the lady waiting for her omelette about me. "Ya I was worried!! That's why I brought her dog water and a treat!!!!" I walk up and they see me, I then said "she's fine!! I came in to give you this tip", he then yelled at me about my dog, and was saying inappropriate things to me and said "put it in the jar then (the tip)"....I turned around and walked out. Breakfast Burritos are like an undiscovered continent of food that just popped onto my radar a few years ago, and ever since I have been Lewis & Clark. This place recently switched from Rise n' Shine Biscuits (meh) to offering burritos, and I noticed a lack of any HONEST reviews on the burritos (looking at you Paula and Lauren--let's stick to reviewing the food and not the sour grapes, shall we?), so allow me to be the first: 1) This being a pizza place they have transferred the model over to burritos, but in all the wrong ways: You start with the basic burrito and are charged for each "topping". The price is still reasonable for a GIANT burrito, but the set up messes with my head and makes me order cautiously when I really just want to relax and get what I want. A better feature to borrow from the pizzeria model would be to make your own tortillas to order--warm, pillowy and soft--THAT would really set this place apart! 2) Despite the persistence of "Bacon Bits", bacon is ALWAYS better in slabs. Rather than dice it up, throw 3-4 sticks of bacon in there whole--I'll take it from here. 3) Green Chile SAUCE is essential. It is the rug that ties the room together. Do it. 4) Potatoes on a breakfast burrito should be crispy enough to stand on their own, and you should know when you've hit one as you work your way down. The hash browns that I had were in the "flimsy zone" and they just kind of blended in with the egg, adding nothing to the experience. In a good burrito, every bite is unique. Consider using country fries. 5) Finally, WRAP THOSE BURRITOS TIGHT!!! Mine had stuff falling out the edge--Burrito Sin #1. The final verdict is that it was "just okay". I will come back after they have had time to find their groove. It's a great set up with a lot of room for improvement, but also a lot of opportunities to set themselves apart from the rest. read more

I placed a to-go order in the restaurant & it was ready under the 20 minute estimate. Neither the restaurant nor the food was ultra modern nor gourmet, but both items I ordered (3 topping calzone & make your own red sauce pizza) were fresh and very good. Awful. The breakfast burritos are terrible as is the coffee. We threw both the coffee and burritos away after having one bite and one sip. My husband and I LOVED Rise and Shine biscuits and coffee, often taking walks there on the weekends. We are so disappointed that Basil Docs kicked them out and is now serving terrible food. I am very displeased with what appeared to be very greedy owners booting Rise and Shine Biscuits from their space so they could take over the coffee and breakfast crowd ad well. It seemed be a successful business arrangement that benefited both parties. I know several others besides myself that tried Basil Docs only after visiting for biscuits. We ordered two large pizzas for a party of six and we ended up with leftovers! This pizza is so good though & truly hits the spot. We ordered one straight pepperoni and one white pizza recommended by the lady on the phone. The crust first off is some of the best and this comes from a former New Yorker. While living in the city I sought out some of the best slices and this is quite reminiscent in texture both the thinness/perfect crispness of the crust but also the bite/chewy texture. I love it. I really love good pizza and these were great. The pepperoni stands out as different not just boring little circles but bundles of tiny chunks or something. Whatever they do its amazing peppery and perfect and not too saucy. Fold a slice in half like a New Yorker and your basically there. The white pizza we got recommended was absolutely creamy and delicious. Chicken, spinach, artichoke, garlic, of course basil. It was the perfect contrast to the pepperoni and ensured everyone in our party was satisfied. Whenever we visit Denver we insist on a visit and this was no exception. We will be back! read more

I was surprised to read a negative review of Basil Docs. This location is pretty much across the street from my house, so it is my go to pizza place in town, although I think I've sampled most of the Central Denver pizza places at one time or another. Basil Docs builds a consistently good pizza, not necessarily the best I've had, but certainly better than delivery. I go for the Moab, with chicken, pineapple jalapenos and chili powder, and it never disappoints. read more
